Bandon dinner reservations

Hello All

 

I am 42 days away from my first Bandon Trip and am getting really excited. Our group only has 8 people and we are going to play at least 36 holes a day so I am not sure when we will finish each day. Do I need to make dinner reservations to get into McKee’s or can we walk right in? Thanks for your help. Kermitm

I would make reservations. It’s hit our miss with big groups and with only a few places on property to eat, you don’t want to have to walk in and be told there is an hour wait.

 

Take your last tee time, add 4.5 hours for golf, another .5-1 hour if guys want to get cleaned up and changed, and make the reservations for then.

Yes you need to make reservations. Make them know. There is Zero downside to doing this - reservations are free and can be changed.

+1 on all the above. McKees can get crowded, even during the week.

With 8 people reservations are prudent. I've never had a problem with getting a table when it's just my wife and I, but on my last trip with 5 of us eating there was usually a wait. Just plan it like wtoomey said.

Does is make a difference if it's a smaller group? Three of us are going to be staying at the resort next May. Is it worth making dinner reservations for such a small group?

May is getting into the busier time, and if there are larger groups at the resort during your stay, you may find yourself out of luck for a normal dinner time at McKee's. I've had long waits as a single when several medium sized groups essentially take all the tables and all that is left are seats at the bar. Those groups tend to linger longer, as well. Really large groups are usually located upstairs, and that can slow the kitchen down.

 

As has been stated, there are no reasons not to make reservations.

I am actually shocked at how hard it is even in the winter to get the restaurant time you want. We like the Pacific Grill which of course given how small it is is the hardest reservation to get. McKee's is the next hardest and the Gallery tends to be pretty easy.

Just call and ask, although I agree that now is probably not needed. Unless your group is large enough that you needed special coordination from lodging/tee time reservations, you probably don't need to do it until you're on site. And if your group was large enough to need that then they probably would have mentioned it to you already. The reservations service is top notch.

With only 6 I'm guessing you'll be fine, as long as you aren't dead set on a specific time that happens to be busy. If you get worried maybe day before you fly, but I wouldn't sweat it. Pacific Grill is probably the only one that might be an issue just because they only have about a dozen tables.
