Neil Diamond...yes, that Mr. Neil (freaking) Diamond!!!

Last year, before the Parkinson’s diagnosis put him permanently on the shelf. And he was awesome. Grew up listening to his music, knew he was once a consummate stage professional, was thrilled to see that he still had it at his age.

A true legend, and I’m so glad I got to see him one last time.

I would have loved to see Neil Diamond but never did. There are several icons who are getting later in years so now is the time to see them. My wife and I saw James Taylor in May at Fiddler's Green near Denver. Bonnie Raitt was supposed to open but had to bow out of that show. We're calling out quest to see the older icons our "Bucketlist Tour".

Was thinking about it, after I posted. I was lucky enough to see Neil Diamond twice, literally 40 years apart—1977 & 2017. The first time was with a high school friend, who I almost had to bribe to get him to come, the latter was with my daughter and sister (in-law), who both enjoyed themselves immensely. He was an incredible performer then, and he stayed that way through the decades.

Good luck with your bucket list!

(And now, I’m just one click away from ordering the original Hot August Night off Amazon to feed my growing nostalgia.)

Mine was Coldplay in Charlotte, NC, 2012, with my wife, daughter and son in law. The mix was a little heavy on bass and drums and the audio didn't compare to most of the live recordings I'd heard of theirs. The show was fantastic visually and special effects wise. And sssssssson... I've never seen more hot women in one place in my 60 years on this Earth! According to my son in law, Coldplay has a knack for drawing the lookers to their concerts :nyam: !

Sugar Ray. My daughter wanted to go and it was her first concert. I had been to lots of concerts in my day and I remember what went on (ahem) so I took her and a friend. The opening act was called Orgy. Yes, I took my 15 year old daughter to see Orgy. I'm sitting in the bleachers (my daughter and friend were on the floor by then) sitting with some moms who were doing the same thing as I. I told them my sisters and their husbands had just seen the Stones and I'm watching Orgy. Luckily I brought a book and went into the hall to read. Sugar Ray was pretty good though. That was probably around 2000.

Ha, that's a funny story.

I made the mistake years ago of following some friends to a bass, dubstep, I dont really know what you call it concert to see what it was all about and had the same WTF am I doing here kind of moment about 20 seconds in. I am not sure how everyone there doesn't have brain damage after a night of that. I stayed for as long as I could bare it and then got a taxi home while they stayed. Terrible music imo and couldn't hear for two days, but they do attract lots of scantily dressed eye candy coverered in glow in the dark paint to those shows, so at least there was that.

I think the last shows I have been to are Jimmy Buffet, Hall and Oates, and Travis Tritt. Not exactly sure of the order.

Jimmy was ok.

Hall and Oates was awesome.

And I wasn't sure I would like the Travis Tritt show as I never really listened to him very much but he played an outstanding show. He was solo and all acoustic, and played a range of hits while telling jokes and back stories. He's a round, jolly man with a funny laugh, it's hard not to laugh with him and get into the show. He also could really play the guitar, I was impressed.

I used to go to a lot of shows but am fastly becoming an old crumudgeon who has no patience for the whole concert experience anymore, AKA other people. I'm 36, ha. Get off my lawn.

Soundgarden.

I saw them two weeks before Chris Cornell died. Man, he was awesome. I was and still am a huge fan of his.

In two weeks, my wife and I are taking my two kids (12 and 7) to their first real concert that is not a kids group—Imagine Dragons. Not a huge fan and only recognized their stuff from my son’s Minecraft knock off songs. But, I’ll go see any live music if it gets my kids interested.

Summer 2016 saw Shinedown, my fav band, and they didn't disappoint. I had not been to a concert in 17 years prior to that!.

I have tickets to see them with Godsmack the end of August who I really like as well and being a Boston band, the place will be jammed!

Interestingly, I've only ever seen DJs and haven't been to a concert.

The one concert I wanted to go see was Linkin Park, but unfortunately it got cancelled due to Chester's Suicide.

Seen them back around 07 or so. Busta rhymes was supposed to be the act before (it was an all day event) guy never showed up.

Last concert I attended was Luke Combs. Orange peel in Asheville NC. He blew up couple months after.

Chris Stapelton, with Brothers Osbone opening. one of the top 5 shows I've been too. In terms of best flat out vocals live probably the best one I've seen.

Wanted to go see Stick Figure with Pepper opening but it was outdoors in June in AZ

Slayer in 2003. Just found out that Cannibal Corpse is playing Athens GA at the Georgia Theater. I went to UGA and the Georgia Theater was a huge venue, but it burned down ang was rebuilt. I have been to the new version. But my favorite bend, in my favorite town, in a revamp of my favorite venue is a must go.

I'm ashamed to say that as a big death metal fan, I've never seen cannibal corpse :(

No need to be ashamed. I've never seen them live either, but I'm going to fix that in Dec. They have played Atl a lot but I'm at the point in my life where I have more to lose than gain for being at a show in downtown Atl...I make bad choices.

BUT I am heading out to see them in Athens for sure. You're welcome to join me!

Thomas Rhett earlier this year in April, with the lady friend. Brett Young opened for him. Rhett's a crossover, more pop star type. Not your typical country boy. Some good songs from him, however.

90's country used to be my favorite. Some artists from that time I know somewhat better than what's current. Now she has me listening to a broader range of artists when it comes to country music.

Edit: Tickets to Old Dominion in October, should be good. I just do what the pretty lady asks me too.

Stapleton just has that voice for what he sings about. Midnight Train to Memphis & Tennessee Whiskey especially come to mind. Don't know much about him. He seems more like a blue's guy that's traveled, drank, and played for much longer than his age would allow. With a little bit of Hank Williams Jr. mashed up and someone else I can't quite name or think of just yet.
