Only thing worse than preseason overreactions are people who provide social media updates on their fantasy football teams.

 

Reminder Detroit went 4-0 in preseason then didn't win a regular season game for over a year

The worst thing about the preseason is big stars or promising rookies being lost for crap scrimmages. I love to laugh at the Skins but losing Guice for the year is a total dagger. Also similar with the Colts and Deon Cain.

You do feel bad for any team that has a promising rookie with the expectation of being a stand out, go out for the season anytime during preseason.

Even if it's your arch rival.

I really don't understand the browns, I am aware that is an understatement. In 2014 instead of drafting Bridgewater or Carr ( Twice!) They draft JohnnyFB and Some undersized DB in the first. In retrospect an obvious mistake....

 

This year with completely different management they do the same damn thing!?! You should learn from mistakes not double,triple or whatever the hell 7 times down is called!

 

The Mayfield and Ward picks are baffling. I do think they made up for it later in the draft. I can't see either first rounder making much of an impact this season.

 

Side note: Anyone reading "Why your team sucks" on deadspin this year? Always the highlight of the preseason to me.

Id be hesitant to compare Gilbert and Manziel to Mayfield and Ward, besides position played there really isn't much similar in the players. Plus their draft this year had the touch of somebody you and I both know, ole Scotty Mcdrunky, who is one of if the best talent evaluators in the league. QB is a crapshoot, and you just roll with "your" guy in the draft, there is a high chance none of them pan out so it really behooves you to stick to your guns if you're going that route. Mccloughan loved Mayfield and went with him.

 

Ward was the best cover corner in the draft, and the Browns needed one horribly. Mccloughan also has a history of the mindset of having 1 stud per level, which to me is why he passed on Chubb to pair with Garrett and went the best corner in the draft. The Browns have been and are still acquiring some really good young talent….Im not sure they are exactly the same ole Browns.

That Manziel picked cost them a couple of franchise qb in the follow up draft. That pick wasn’t just dumb but every decision after it was boneheaded consider the quality of qb’s that came after. Hindsight is such a b”:&:$;)

Jimmy Garappolo still undefeated since Dec 3, 2017.

Next challenger: the Vikings, lead by Bridgewater Bradford Keenum Cousins and Peterson Cook McKinnon Cook. Tenure at the skill positions has been shorter than a Minnesota summer.

 

I think we're going to need a new laughing stock. Cleveland seems have done something as un-Brown as their orange jerseys - drafted and signed good players. It remains to be seen if that will equal success, but the roster actually looks pretty decent. Put another way - the 2008 Lions' record is safe.

The Bills should be pretty bad, but I'm not sure who else will stink with the same acrid stench as the Browns.

 

Should be an interesting season with all the QBs switching teams.

I'm am willing to give the bills a shot at being this years browns. Josh Allen will have a terrible season and be out of the league in 3 years, wasted pick.

 

We are giving the browns way too much credit though, they can be improved and still be the laughing stock of the league. Is 3-5 wins a good season? Does Hue keep his job with a 5-11 season? After watching hard knocks the franchise seems like a tire fire

There is some $*#! going down today!!! The raiders just pissed off the entire north/east bay area! This is unbelievable. They just gave away a 3rd, traded their best player, traded for a qb, cut Ateman and nothing will surprise me at this point. If I was a team who was close to contending I would throw an offer for Carr, who knows they might take it! Wow....

Bears v. Ravens in the Hall of Fame game tonight. I know , I know, it's not the real deal. It is pro football though now isn't it?!

It will be interesting to see RG Me under center to start the game for the Ravens. It has been a good bit of time since the Baylor QB took a

snap in a NFL game. This Skins fan is so glad he is gone. lol
