Club Champion Putter Fitting: Any experience?

I'm very pleased with my Driver/Fairway fitting from CC.

 

Anyone out there done their putter fitting? Obviously there's gonna be differences based on the individual fitter, but just curious about the overall process.

I did their putter fitting. I really didnt think it was worth it. I brought in 2 putters. One i had been using for years, one i recently switched too. They put me on the SAM for both. I didnt really get a sense of what the numbers meant and felt that it was a waste. They didnt recommend changing anything for either putter. (loft, length, lie, etc.)

IMO sometimes just confirming you have the right setup is as valuable as any type of custom fitting.

 

Any serious golfer should have at least one custom putter fitting to confirm their target length, lie and toe hang setup. Club Champion is as good as any at figuring this out for you.

 

I would agree though that unless you change your putting grip or stance significantly, this isn't something that needs to be done for every putter. Once you're in the ballpark, then it boils down to personal feel/taste. For example, my "perfect fit" for lie angle was 1 degree flatter than I actually play. Something in my eye just likes that setup better and I putt better with it.

I went through a putter fitting and was curious to see what type of putter was best for me. Turns out that the current club in my bag suited me well just needed to tweak the loft and lie a little bit and it seems to help - the ball rolls better for me once we altered the loft. For me it was worth paying for the fitting then dropping money to find the magical putter when I already have what suits me in my bag.

I did one and it was interesting to see the numbers. That said a putting lesson combined with fitting would have been better to adjust both my set up and equipment. The fitting just updated my equipment to match my setup and stroke at the time regardless if it was correct or not.

 

I went in fully committed to walking out with a new putter and the fitter was honest enough that he said my gamer fit my stroke and just adjusted the loft and lie and told me to get a fat grip and play the ball really far forward in my stance. So I appreciate that.

 

I was disappointed I didn’t get to see how different head weights or alignment markings might affect me. And I think there is only so much a fitting with 10 straight 8 foot putts can tell.

Tough to upcharge for stock shafts on a putter ;)

My fitting was part of a full bag promo $175 and it only took about 10 mins. Went from a plumbers neck blade to flow neck blade recommendation with a flatter lie. I wouldn't pay the rack rates for any of the individual fitting sessions. $175 was well worth it for everything at once even though fatigue set in towards the end hitting ~180 balls.

I did a driver and a putter fitting.

 

Putter fitting confirmed my sbst stroke, which I was happy with. It did not however really talk about stuff like loft and lie or length. I think he quickly said "those numbers look fine."

 

The driver fitting was nice in that it showed me my numbers. Probably no more useful to me than the old Goldsmith simulators were.

 

I was able to get optimum numbers with a certain set up, but was under the impression that it was because I happened to be striking the ball best at that moment.

 

I came back to the "optimum" club after trying a bunch of others, and it was no more optimum than anything else anymore. After hitting so many balls fatigue sets in and you aren't consistent enough for the numbers to matter. I also hit most of the set ups at fairly considerable numbers. That led me to believe that it was more about fixing my swing to get optimum numbers than it was about buying the right numbers with a shaft change.
