My buddy purchased a putter and after taking it to the course, he thought it felt very cheap and did not perform well. I personally have never had a first hand experience. (He doesnt post much here)

I have been looking at picking up a putter from them. They look to be priced right and not the same BS cash grab that others are doing. Glad to see someone actually not trying to gouge the people for their "investment" putter. Plus they actually make putters and release them. (not just an accessory producer) Looks like they will do customs as well.

Just a FYI:

Carbon 1018 is Carbon 1018. Same Carbon Cameron Uses on his $5K+ putters

303 Stainless is 303 Stainless. Same Stainless Cameron Uses on his $5K+ putters

So not sure where they are coming from on the "felt cheap" I guess a 5-10K putter might feel like crap then. Performance is subjective, Tiger is on his 3rd putter in 3 weeks. So long to the Juno!

You should check out their Instagram account @americanputtercompany. I could point you to some cheap putter makers out there if your buddy wants to see cheap. But these look pretty cool.

PS all those Sheep Enthusiast sure liked what they saw on their 190 post thread on their Facebook page before the mods shut it down. :lock:

There is a lot more that goes into sound and feel than just the material. The design, finishing, and heat treatment has as much to do with the feel than anything including the material.

These don't really do anything for me. They look a little too unrefined for my eye but there is certainly a market out there for that kind of industrial look. To me nobody can compete with Lamb or Cameron when it comes to fit and finish. Their putters look more like jewelry than golf clubs. With that said I putt with a Toulon Garage Madison because it feels better and performs better than any other traditional looking putter I've ever putted with.

Your right, not enough Jewelry look. Guess we should just go pay our 5K-10K for a SC or Lamb and be happy with it. Not trying to defend this company but the responses in this thread are amazing. Enjoy your Taulon! Sweet wand!

Funny thing I actually own the putter you posted a picture of. It’s a piece of junk! It hasn’t even seen the course and the stainless steel is already starting to tarnish badly. Literally never even touched a blade of grass. Save yourself money and buy another brand.

They look decent but if you think the level of machining and finish of those two putters match that of Cameron or Lamb you don't know anything about machining and design.

I'm not knocking the putters you're showing and I'm not a Lamb or a Cameron guy but from and artistic and a technical aspect nobody does fit and finish like Lamb and Cameron. Sean Toulon even said that recently and those guys are his fierce competitors.

The attention to detail isn't quite there with the two putters you've posted. I can point out probably a half dozen areas where they are struggling from a machining and finish standpoint but that gives them a sort of industrial look that some people like.

I would love to hear where they are struggling with machining & finish. Care to share?

It may be a look they're going for but I hate when companies leave the weld on the neck. It's lazy because it takes a lot of time for a small area.

When they put inserts in the back cavity they are never even close to lining up.

It's tough to make a mirror finish on a putter look good but when they do it it looks bad.

I don't know if they're going out of business or not but their putters are all marked down to $195 and I also see they're selling Scotty Cameron putters and gear on their website now.

hahaha such a fake!

This is amazing this putter is on Tablerock.com. Is Jim Butler leaving TL?

I feel that Burke putters are to Betti

American Flat Sticks are to Lamb

Byron Morgan is to Cameron... there is a copy cat in every industry.

Actually Byron had his PING Scottsdale Version years before Cameron came out with his, Byron was in the business BEFORE Cameron, so if you want to split hairs,

Cameron is to Byron what American Sticks is to Lamb.

First of all, im sure they are flattered for everyone in this thread saying they are like lamb or sc with their sub $1K all in price. 2nd of all, I have personally seen milling issues with Scotty's 009M and Lambs as well. Not sure we want to start slinging mud over the putter manufactures in this thread or another. But to each their own.

The fit and finish isn't even close. I'm not slinging mud because I wouldn't buy a putter from any of the three brands but the attention to detail on the two pictures you showed isn't even close to what you'll find in a Cameron or a Lamb.

Bettinardi is a different story. I have actually done some work with his machine shop and he's got some really good machinists but he went down a strange road with materials, finishes and shafts. From a technical standpoint Bettinardi probably has the best capabilities but he doesn't have the design/artistry of Cameron.

I think the other guy who is really close to the level of Lamb and Cameron is Byron. His machining is beautiful and a couple of his designs are classics. You can definitely tell that he spends a lot of time shaping his heads by hand because they are really good looking.

Strange road? What does that even mean? Betti uses carbon steel, 303SS, and DASS for their metals, unique finishes, and standard shafts minus 2016/17 BB which was totally new to the industry. Look at the product their are putting out now I'd say its far and sure top 2, scotty and betti.

The use DASS (which is a joke, it's heat treated stainless) and 303 on their tour putters.

Have you used one of their retail offerings? They are junk. They look like pot metal garbage you would buy at Walmart.

Putting a matte finish steel shaft is new to the industry? Bullseye did it about 30 years ago.

The tour stuff Betti does is really good. The retail line is garbage. It's amazing nobody has figured out to make an 009 head without all kinds of dots and inserts all over it and put it on the shelves for $400.

I love bettinari retail stuff, especially studio stocks, queen bees and others. Don’t think they are junk at all but then again I don’t just care how they look but I like to use the putters I buy

It looks like Bettinardi went back to using stainless on their retail putters finally.

Bettis are far from junk. I've never head anyone say that on WRX or anywhere else...ever.

I would say you are wrong on this one.
