Worst are the little bits from tulip poplar trees. About an inch long with a hard nub on one end.  Seen people try to blow them but they don't move easily and they knock putts offline easily if you hit one.

Gonna be tough around the immediate area. I'm in Springfield - not on a course - but from my office I can definitely still see snowpack under the trees and in the fields. We should get some good melt this week but with an inch of rain Friday, I cant imagine anything will be open. Hoping if everything melts this week, one or two weeks of drying would be good.

As much as I'm jonesing, it feels like it would be too much of a slog right now. Let it melt and dry for a week, I'll stick to a couple days of sim golf this week lol.

We played Worthington Manor today, and the conditions were very good.  Greens weren't up to their regular speeds, but it was nice out.

Pretty surprised they would have opened with snow still out there. We had gotten so cold down here that it was still frozen about a foot down, so there is nowhere for the melt to go right now. Could see maybe being open next weekend but I'm just surprsied they would risk it. Happy - but surprised.

Yeah its not that the fairways aren't visually clear its just that they can struggle to cleanly drain if there's still a frozen layer not far down.
