Malbon -- Fishy Experience

I ordered a hat from Malbon a few weeks ago. After 4 days of nothing, I e-mailed to ask about the status of my order. I got a response saying it was out of stock and I could get a refund or exchange it for something different. I said I wanted a refund. Then crickets. I e-mailed twice, called, then finally e-mailed one of the owners who said she'd look into it. But nothing. Sent another e-mail, and nothing. Finally created a dispute with PayPal.

 

This is something I have never experienced before. I wonder what is going on over there. Any one know anything?

Waiting an extremely long time for a refund and not even getting communication from a company can often mean serious financial problems.

 

Unfortunately I know from first hand experience. I worked for a golf company that went belly up in the mid 90’s. It shall remain nameless. It was Excruciating to try and deal with refunds and credits when the company has zero operating capital to even make payroll.

 

I bailed out before the bitter end but it was truly miserable.

 

I have absolutely no idea what’s happening in your case. Just throwing out a possibility.

I ordered 2 headcovers from them in January.. Nearly 300 bucks... over the course of the next 6 months, they did not contact me 1 time. I emailed them in months 4 and 5 and was told that the covers were coming. They never did. In month 6 I asked for my money back and they refunded with zero issue. I really wanted the covers though

The two Malbon experiences posted here are super common. The problem with Malbon is that they aren't a company, or even a business — they are a brand. And to (attempt to) build this brand, they spend their time fishing for revenue by over-posting gutless and lukewarm social media content.

 

If they don't figure out that a brand is only sustainable when founded on a business, these half-baked, Zumiez skate shop, 20 handicap pretenders fumbling their way around Fairfax are gonna be out of a job soon.

Sorry to hear. I've ordered a couple caps, once online and once by phone and both were shipped right away. My only gripe was that one of the caps seemed to be basically child size.

Just checked the web site. Interesting. They are basically putting their “brand” on generic products made by other companies.

 

$48-65 for a tee shirt? $95-110 for a polo? $42 for a hat. From a company no ones ever heard of and doesn’t ship product on time or answer emails?

Were those by chance the Lamb/Malbon collaboration covers? I tried to get those through Malbon for months with zero luck. Even after Lamb had them on their site, Malbon claimed to not have any. I've bought some other items from them and their communication has been good, but I'll agree it seems to be an odd operation.

PayPal found in my favor and said they'd refund me. Same day they also e-mailed saying they would issue a refund. But also they sent me a shipping confirmation an hour later. I asked what's up, and they said oops that was an accident. Such a disorganized bunch...

They are working with Nike.

 

I ordered the Nike shirt and hat that they dropped last week. Shipping was 10 days from date of order, but just received an e-mail yesterday that it was going to be an additional 14 days. We'll see how this ends.
