Club Champion NEW @ Portland, OR / Post your experience

Many of you know of club-fitting centers such as Redtail in Portland or Club Champion in Seattle. At the start of Club Champion in Seattle, customer service was great and the fitting sessions were very thorough, rightfully gaining a great reputation. Unfortunately, in recent years I have been seeing the increase amount of negative reviews on service and overall fitting experience from Club Champion in Seattle. If you are not working with a private clubfitter and elect to go through the Club Champion route, would love to hear your input on your experience...

I did a full bag session at Club Champion Seattle last year.

 

Pros:

• They have a wide selection of shafts and heads to interchange
  
• My fitter replied back fast to my email and voicemail questions
  
• Trackman
  
• Short discussion before the fitting about your goals
  
• Ability to divide full fitting into two sessions (you get tired easily)
  
• They have a playability guarantee if you purchase the clubs they choose for you
  
• Nice organized clean retail and fitting and hitting bay areas
  

Cons:

• They will not give you their playability guarantee if you do not choose the clubs they fit you with
  
• They are more expensive than most retail outlets (since they remove the stock shaft and re-add the the selected shaft)
  
• Did feel a little pressure on buying clubs from them
  

I was very close to purchasing clubs from them but chose not too because I didn't feel comfortable with the clubs they fitted me with.

 

I known people who've gone and got fitted there and ended up buying the same spec'd clubs from a less expensive retailer. I would recommend going to club champion to get fitted. It's a great experience whether or not you take their recommendations or purchase from them. It helped me open my eyes to the fitting process and how finding the right shaft is important.
