Anyone testing/reviewing these shafts?

 

I know they currently only come in 40/50/60/80g options, but there is a 100g option coming next month. Seems like something I definitely would like to give a shot.

I just put some 80g into a set of single length irons that I built up and have a few rounds on them. Feel is nice and crisp, more feedback than the LZ. Accuracy and consistency are great, really feel like you can hit the same shot over and over again, and the ball flight is pretty mid trajectory. Overall pleased with the short time I have had them.

I’ve been playing the 100g 6.0 for the past month to 6 weeks and I love the combo. Great flight and feel. Not stout like recoil F5 but definitely hold their own in stiffness. I play them in my irons and driving irons and will replace shafts in my wedges once I can get more at retail.

AFAIK, these are aftermarket only and not part of any iron program line up yet. I believe will peoples has access to the sub 100g inventory. Shafts come in black finish or ion chrome finish in 40,50,60,80g but only ion chrome in 100g

Thanks for the feedback. I played the PX 6.5 for a long time and moved away from them this past year. Moved into modus3 120X and love them. I’d really love to try the 100g version to see how they would compare to my shafts.

I play 125 f5’s In my wedges and I find them soft and supple. Not the slightest bit “stout”. I just don’t get it. Odd.

 

It’s all irrelevant for me I guess. I’ve never liked any shafts less than 110 grams I’ve ever tried anyway.

I swing 98-101 with driver so that’s probably the difference in feel we’ve experienced.

Thanks to another forum, I was gifted a set of my choice early and DB worked with me to identify what I wanted. I got a set from the first batch that were made.

I got a set of the 80g 6.0's that I have been playing with since I built them up well over a month ago.

 

As Knudson mentioned, very solid in a great way but as with graphite less vibration. which was a big help while also rehabbing a bit of a thumb injury. Built these into what was a back up set that became gamers.

 

As far as building goes, easy to work with - I had a set of pre release tapers so that could have been part of it but as someone that has worked with TT and Project X product for a long time everything they make is top notch.

Hopefully PX will start making these in taper tip soon. It seems like it's a suitable "players" graphite shaft with how stiff the tip is but I can't think of any players clubs with parallel hosel size. Maybe rogue pro or m3?

May have to give a 100g 6.5 a try in my 2 iron.

I currently have the 100 TT 6.5 and i love them. I thought they would not be stable enough as i have had issues with graphite before. However these launch nearly identical to my KBS c taper 130 or my TT monacos. They just feel much better.

If you listen to the TG2 episode where they talked with Project X, they said that they play stiffer than a steel 6.0 or 6.5. I recommend going and listening to the episode. It’s really insightful.

Their 100/95 plus gram hybrid shafts are all tour only - the hrzdus Black, evenflow black and blue, plus there might be a heavier hrzdus red too. I wonder if a parallel tip in the 100 gram version might be offered to cover this? Could be a bit longer too. I believe it’s an extra step to taper tip graphite shafts anyways.

I’m gonna get the 100 built up in my driving iron. I’ll have to post a review once I get it.

Using 80s but excited for the 100's especially in the shorter irons. Hoping for just a touch more total weight - even tested by using lead tap to get the shaft / club up the extra 15-20 g total and it was wonderful.

 

Either way these are a big winner in my book.
