Putter Fitting Reviews?

So I am a newbie to the Putters forum, I have never had a putter fitting, but in brief search didn’t show threads relating to them.

 

So I wondered what you all thought of fittings,like say Scotty Cameron or EvenRoll in the San Diego area, or others (like Club Champion?)?

 

I don’t like to spend significant time tinkering and shopping, and am a southpaw so trying out friends’ putters isn’t practical. My current putter is a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 that I bought used on line 4 years ago. it seems to work reasonably well except that the shaft is likely an inch or two long as I have to choke up.

If you don’t want to mess with clubs yourself I’d recommend a fitting. I’ve never had a fitting but love to buy and mess with putters between lengths grips. I am left handed too and live in a small town where there’s not a store within a few hours that’s has multiple left handed models. I have only been golfing for about 3 summers and have had over 25 putters and easily half of those never went outside and almost always break even on reselling them. I think the best bet is to feel what’s comfortable to you and buy some similar options and some not similar. I have found that I like a shorter putter 33”-33.5” in length and can never get along with face balanced putters and can’t stand to look at a mallet. A fitting will be beneficial to get correct loft lie and length but I have found that having a putter that you like looking at and fits your stroke is the most important part because you can always change the specs to fit you. I would recommend messing with putters and finding what you like best and maybe buying a cheap putter and messing with length and grips. It is just a flat piece of metal some people still putt with bullseyes the most important thing is confidence

Thanks for the response post, Egob.....that's an impressive amount of tinkering, and probably the best way to do it is to develop your own feel. If I tried that I'd probably go down the path of "putter perdition"; accumulating a lot of putters and never having full confidence that the putter fits my stroke, or is my stroke fitting the putter!

 

After further research I found Evnroll has Quintic putter lab, but it seems they do not make many left hand putters,so it probably doesn't make sense to use them. It looks like Scotty Cameron gallery has their own 9 camera angle system, and quite a few (but not all) of their models in left handed. I guess I'll call a few stores (maybe the Carlsbad Golf Center) to see what putters they carry and the fitting technology.

Ok Golf WRX I need help finding s certain putter shaft? I am looking for a specific putter shaft that I have seen on a few Odyssey white hot model#5s.

It has what I would call a ‘single bend’ shaft?

Help me find this putter shaft...

I know this is not the place but thought since this is about putter fitting, I would give it a try...
