He did indeed, but without knocking it while being honest, it was only a small 30 man field with plenty of tired players (curtailing as last event of year) with many top players with one eye on the Ryder Cup. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great win and one that would likely have given Tiger added confidence going forward. And let’s be honest here again, the Majors are what all the top players aim to peak towards, and in these events we saw Brooks, Molinari blow Tiger and the field away in spectacular fashion. 2019 will be so so interesting to see how he stacks up.

So the younger, stronger, more talented, better athletes got "tired"? But Tiger didn't? LOL. Can't make this stuff up.

And "many top players" weren't at their best because they had "one eye on the Ryder Cup"? Truly, this must be parody?

And Brooks shooting a final round 66 to Tiger's 64 (to win by 2) was blowing Tiger and the field away "in spectacular fashion"? Oh, my...

Cool Running's you just keep bringing the gold. Honestly, if I were you I would reach out to ClubProGuy and see if he has a spot for you on his team. I think your sarcasm and parody would fit right in over there!

Players have different schedules and length of schedules too, and yes it’s well known players get tired towards end of the season, especially after playing a long full season and then the many events in a row heading into the TC’s. As everyones season, scheduling, travel and training is different it naturally affects everyone differently. For years players have talked about feeling tired coming into and during the end of season playoffs, it’s not an excuse but a reality that you seem reluctant to accept even when THEY (the players) openly admit to it themselves… Just one example is Byrson DeChambeau after winning at BMW saying “I'm a little tired, I’m not going to lie.” There are many players feeling the same way, it’s just a fact. Sorry.

Bubba Watson: On Players Being Tired & Sick at TC:

"It's a long year, we're all tired… A lot of us were kind of getting sick - gosh, I don't want to say not quite half the field [at last week's Tour Championship in Atlanta] had something…”

–––––––––––––

Tired / sickness was similar with many of the top European players from TC, again, it’s just a reality / fact you have to start embracing bud.

And yes, many / most players do have one eye on the Ryder Cup throughout the FedEx Cup because they want to conserve energy for it because it means that much to them. To the degree that even Justin Thomas talked about winning the RC means more to him than even winning a major, Molinari also admitted to this reality. So no, no “parody” just the REALITY most top players share. Sorry.

Regarding Brook’s 2018 PGA win, final round for the first 5 holes Brooks was +1 playing things too safe letting the field try to close him down. With Tiger -2 over the first 5 holes and charging, Brooks then simply turned it up a gear and shut out Tiger and the field by shooting a sublime -5 for the remaining holes. Despite how well Tiger played (and he played amazing golf at times), it still wasn’t enough to unseat todays more talented modern player/s. Today the best players like Brooks are so impressive, they’re utterly fearless and such great athletes that they dominate tee to green and can also putt lights out as well. Tiger I’m sad to say will struggle to win the big majors when he continually gives up so much advantage off the tee. If Brooks had putted even slightly better in the final round he’d have won at by a country mile. That’s just the reality.

Even Tiger spoke about this reality when commenting…

Tiger Woods On Brooks Koepka:

“He [@BKoepka] is a tough guy to beat when he's hitting it 340 in the air ... @DJohnsonPGA's done it, now @McIlroyRory's doing it, Brooksy does it."

–––––––––––––

Tiger in many ways has helped create the calibre of player/athlete today that have surpassed his game, don’t fear him and are currently denying him almost certain victories if these performances were played in the previous era.

Bottom line, I’m simply providing a more balanced perspective supported by cold hard reality & facts that few fellow Tiger fans would ever admit to because most find it so hard to put their biases aside and call it how it really is. I get your position, but I’m a straight shooter.

Come on man. I don’t think anybody here is saying those cats aren’t tired. But don’t you think the guy with the fresh back fusion and who played 7 or 8 out of last 10 tournaments was tired too ? It was a great field and they all were tired I’m sure. He didn’t win the hero in board shorts. It was a big event. And it was by any measure full field. Having 40 more journey men and/or rookies wouldn’t have lessened his chances , unless you want to debate pure statistical anomaly . Sure. If there were 400 people in the event statistics say 1 is likely to get hot and do something out of character. That’s a pretty useless argument. But I’ll concede it if it helps.

Why don’t we just see what happens ? We all know he’s old and tired. But these kids aren’t somehow above human tendency. I like his chances to win 3 and a major this year.

Don’t get me wrong, despite the reality/factors I’ve highlighted above, Tiger’s TC win was a great win. This year I’m interested to see how Tiger performs now the pressure and expectations have increased exponentially internally & externally. Last year there were very low expectations from most fans and even himself - but this year it all changes. If Tiger can win his first full fielded event and do it quickly then it could be a great year for him, but as the pressure & expectations mount throughout the season if this win doesn’t come quickly, then I think it could weigh heavy on him and we see more of the same struggles under pressure. As for more major wins, I just think he’ll struggle against a full field of all the world’s best players (like Brook’s) when they’re all fresh, focused and peaking for these major events.

Like you said, we shall see, and I can’t wait!

Tigerrrrrrrr!

https://www.golf.com/news/2019/01/23/tiger-woods-spent-offseason-gym-training-free-diving/

Tiger Woods ‘spent a lot of time in the gym’ (and free diving) this offseason

“This offseason I spent a lot of time in the gym and I’ve gotten a lot stronger,” said the 14-time major champion. “I feel like my legs are where they need to be, which they weren’t at the end of the season.”

“To be able to do that again, to be able to get in the water and free dive, put the fins on and load the body up and drop down like that, that was something I truly missed. I love being in the water.”

Anyone catch the swing videos on Instagram? He's looking a bit stiff and swing/ball speed looks low.

Massive fan here so hopefully he's just taking it easy in practice but the naysayers are already out in force in the comments.
