What's your favorite golf shop?

Golfsmith is the one I have probably been to the most but I have found some mom & pop operations

that are pretty nice..

 

But I'd have to say I've gotten most of my stuff from Golfsmith...

I am partial to my local Pro Golf here in Fayetteville NC. They have GREAT customer service. When I travel to Newport News/Yorktown Virginia I like Golf Galaxy there. They gave a ton of the stuff that I like too.

 

If I order stuff on the web I go to Golf Galaxy, TGW or Golfsmith for the amount of inventory that they have. I don't order much on the web. Mostly appearal. I buy golf balls at Dick's Sporting Goods for the Score Card reward points.

But here in Atlanta, I like Edwin Watts and Trader Golf. Golfsmith is a ghost town and PGA Tour Superstore is just a little too much. Seems like people go there and bring their kids just to play in the simulators.

I just wish we had a golf store of anykind around here.

 

Its amazing but I have to drive about 90 miles in two different directions to find golf shops .

 

We had a small one about twenty miles away for a while but it closed up.

 

By the way I am not talking the middle of no where I live on the east coast of North Carolina

PGA SUPERSTORE, by far!

 

this place has it all. Huge selection, practice areas, great putting & chipping areas, indoor bunkers, computerized hitting bays/launch monitors, good pricing, friendly service. It cannot be beat IMO.

 

2nd place: Golf Galaxy

 

3rd Place Edwin Watts (but pricing is too high)

Edwin Watts have always been really good in my experience, price-wise and in terms of customer service.

all we have around here are some of the big chains, I prefer not to shop as most of them because most of my interactions with employees have been less then enjoyable- most of the seem to be staffed by people that don't know much about golf. If go anywhere it would this mom and pop close to my house. Super nice staff and they make their money through fitting so they know a lot about equipment.

That's a no-brainer for my area - Kepler's Golf Repair in Walnut Creek, CA (San Francisco East Bay). Owned and operated by real golfers/die-hards who are also very nice people. We are lucky to have them.

If not the '' red shed'' american owned golf wearhouse on an industrial park sells everything and anything at competative rates.

I am a big fan of Golf Galaxy. They have to be one of the better ones that I get to visit although the Edwin Watts in Nashville has climbed to the top of my list as well.

Hennings is good, I have tried to stay away from the Golf Galaxy Chesterfield, and the Golf Discount Manchester because they have absolutly no clue what they are talking about. I live near MGL so I chill there sometimes. Hopefully work there if im lucky.

Does Midwest golf labs carry inventory or do they just fit and do club adjustments? I have heard it's the best place to get fitted in St. Louis. I would never go to either Golf Galaxy Chesterfield and Brentwood to get fitted, but both have good deals on used clubs, I bought a used set of Miura CB 201 there for $230! The workers had no idea what they had

I agree with the comment about PGA Superstores in Atlanta.... great selection, great prices, cool services, but it on the weekends... it looks like a McDonald's playground. Now I don't have a problem with kids, just a problem with unsupervised kids.

 

Golfsmith has overpriced used clubs and I've dealt with several under-informed "caddies".

 

I've actually started shopping at Edwinn Watts more often, it may not have the very best prices on new clubs.... but from my experiences, the customer service has been great.

You're right, unsupervised kids running around are a pain. Its like Dad said 'you guys want to go to 6 Flags or the Superstore' and dumps them there.

 

Edwin Watts has come up a lot lately. They told my father-in-law that basically they won't let a sale walk out if they can help it, especially over price. But they closed my store (near Perimeter) but the Cobb Parkway store is near my office.

I buy a lot of components at golfsmith but don't care for it otherwise, been in golf galaxy its worse than golfsmith. Have a small store called The Golf Stop run by some good ol' boys very attentive and knowledgeable do most of the work I can't do, then there is Supreme golf which is my other favorite.

I'm on the west coast and I have 3 in my area. Roger Dunn Golf, Golfsmith and Nevada Bob's.

Roger Dunn's gets most of my bussiness based on the fact they alway's have

what I'm looking for.

 

Online, there are 2 ebay stores that I buy from because I trust them and the price is right.
