80g Butt stiff & tip stiff shaft recommendations

I’ll have to give that a try. I’ll have to see if my EW or PGASS have it to demo. I’ve never played GD shafts before. Always been a Fuji or Aldila shaft player but def willing to try something new.

I have AD TP 8x in my 3 wood playing at 42.25 “ and 14 degrees loft. Launches great off the deck and tee. However for a 4 or 5 wood it actually launched too high ( for me ). Great 3 wood shaft though.

I’m actually looking for that profile, stiff butt firm tip since it will be going in a 3w. I have a PW 90tx in my driving iron, so if I need to keep something real low I just use that.

Yeah I'd say the Evo ii has a stiffer tip but less stuff butt than proforce. Evo iii is also very similar but the tip is a little less stiff than either.

 

Evo ii was solid for driver and the iii might be better for a fairway. I never loved the proforce but it does give solid results. It's probably not the stuff tip though that you want.

Have not hit the AD VR....tried a AD DI 7x and 8x and both were just a bit loose feeling for me. I have a late release so club head would lag behind too much with the face still open, would high pushes to the right. The AD TP 7x is in my driver and AD TP 8x in a 13.5 degree ( actual measured loft is 14 degrees ) and both work very well for me. Launch is a little bit lower than AD DI. I did have to put a heavier 8 gram weight in the front weight port of Epic sub zero driver at 9 degrees of loft, in order to get a lower launch window. Hope that helps.

Also, have to ask yourself what you are going to need 3 wood for the most. Is it mostly a club for controlled tee shots or is going to be for tee shots and off the deck into par 5s. If it is almost always a tee shot club then you may want to try Tensei Pro White. You said you have that in a driving iron, and even though Pro White is listed as a low/low shaft, I found it to more of a mid launch shaft. Paired with m5 turned down to 14 degrees(like u stated) Pro white could be a killer combo.

Diamana Blue was the first thing I thought of. You can tip the hell out of the originals as well without compromising the awesome feel. Not sure about the other Blue models as I have not tried but I suspect similar. Legendary shaft for a reason.

If it is almost always a tee shot club then you may want to try Tensei Pro White. You said you have that in a driving iron, and even though Pro White is listed as a low/low shaft, I found it to more of a mid launch shaft. Paired with m5 turned down to 14 degrees(like u stated) Pro white could be a killer combo.

 

I’ve thought about trying to get my hands on a PW 80TX but I’ve heard the buff can be a little soft. I don’t like to feel anything move under my hands during my transition which is fast

Kai'li does seem to flight the ball a little bit high, I think you're right. I think though the added spin helps keep the ball in play.... Whether I'm on the range or playing a round, the thing is almost automatic for me. Not the longest 3w I've played, but man, just so reliable.

 

It's so good in fact I'm considering trying to find a 80X to plug into a 4/5w to start going for par 5's in two (which I rarely do) and then getting a strong low spin 3w as my less than driver bomb ball that I don't mind a little less control with. Something like an Epic SZ 13.5 paired with a M3 HL or TS3 5w.

If you prefer a shaft that has a more linear load, where you don’t feel it loading in any specific area, I just got the new Aldila ATX Green graphene prototype in 75tx from GreenGrassEvaluations. I got this as a driver shaft and the shaft isn’t overly stiff feeling, it just feels like the entire shaft is loading. There are different threads about this shaft and others. Check out The Big Bad Low Spin thread as well as the Aldila ATX graphene proto thread.

The Kai'li is softer in the tip section overall, tipping can help but the OG Blueboard isn't as soft. The 103x in my 4-wood is tipped 2" and it still feels great.

Sounds like a Blue Board or derivative thereof. If you want to save some cash, the Aldila VS Proto is also an option worth looking into.
