Help! I ruined my miura cb's reshafting with Black Gold

What should I do?
I have some 04 racs that had dgs300 and were set to the old standard length which is .5 under current std. I decided to try the bg to lower the ball flight. When I went in to my clubfitter he measured my arm length and recommended I go 1" over. I agreed that I would try them at that length. When he cpm them the pw came out at 332cpm and stepped down in five cpm incraments per shaft. I went out this morning excited to try my new shafts and boy was I dissapointed. Ball flight was higher than the dgs300's. Ball climbed quickly and then knuckled and went knowhere just floating. I was a club shorter with these shafts and the feel felt as though I hit everthing thin. Throughout the day I kept telling myself that I ruined my miura cbs with thes shafts. When I got home from work I went to the true temper website and noticed that they said the irons cpm were a soft R. R according to there website states that pw should cpm at 338. I dont understand they have a sticker that says stiff but cpms at old man. I bought the parrellel set so no tip trimming is required right? I dont know what to do I am going to the club fitter tommorrow morning. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks

I can tell you that the Black Golds will not lower flight.

I play stiffs in my wedges and they go higher (but do not balloon) then the DG S300 shafts that they replaced. Due to being a club shorter I would say you have the wrong shafts or at least the wrong flex. I considered these for my irons, but I knew that I would have to step up to X flex.

should I try the tour concepts. I have been a projext X guy from the begining but heard great things about tt great feel.

When you say soft stepped x100 do you mean dg or bg?

no he did not. for some reason the tt website classified them as low ball flight. What is the lowest flying iron shaft by tt?

No! That's going even further in the wrong direction.

Soft-stepped Dynamic Gold X-100.

Adjusting shaft length 1.5 inches is a huge difference---find a different fitter and confirm that is the correct length for you.

I'd also have a club builder CPM your irons and tell you what flex he gets on the P.C.S. Equalizer Scale. If the club builder doesn't know what the PCS Equalizer is, or says it's no good, move on to the next guy. It's the only way to compare "apples-to-oranges" for flex.

If you're a Project X guy, you'll lose a little disatance with Dynamic Gold. If you want to lower PX ballflight a little, move up in flex. (Better to have a flat left wrist & keep your hands ahead of the ball at impact, but that's another forum ;))

I did confirm the wrist to floor measument to be 38 to the wrist and 30 to the finger tip. Not sure what +1" will do for me. It sure seems to complicate matters.

The PCS Equalizer flexes irons soft....about 7cpm. My freq meter matches the 'reference' at PCS HQ...
PCS Equalizer system is the reference.....your numbers are adjusted to match the reference, thereby equalizing the results of different clubmakers everywhere--assuming they're using quality equipment.

Uh yeah, I know how it works with regard to standardizing freq meter deviation.

put satin project x in and they are great. slightly higher intialy then dg but flattens out and really holds the line well for me. Dg continue to climb do to the spin rate. Not as feel as dg either but the feeling of closer putts is good enough for me. thanks for all your help.

there is too much talk and not enough info here: you always need to tip trim parallel shats, since you are buying the same shaft 8 times over, and not a set of 8 different (but matched) shafts. this means that if you want a PW that is going to feel rougly the same cpm as the 3 and 5 iron, you need to tip trim the 5 iron one inch more than the 3, the 6 iron 1.5 inches, etc.

you haven't ruined your irons; you've ruined a set of shafts. if your clubfitter didn't know this, then he doesn't know anything. really, don't take your clubs to that guy.

Okay, I just didn't understand how "PCS Equalizer flexes irons soft" compared to the PCS Equalizer--it's same thing. ;)

None of the clubfitters mentioned this that I noticed. But adding and inch and a half to your irons would make the shaft much more flexible.

More flex higher ball flight. If you normally play stiff shafts and need longer clubs you probably need to go much stiffer.

why the worry about your ball flight there is no sand traps in the sky?
