I need to get back out there as it has been maybe 2 years since i last played it.

Playing PGA Frisco West tomorrow so looking forward to it!

PGA was pretty cherry yesterday.  Bonus was they had the course closed until noon and we were 3rd off so once we got around a foursome we played in about 3 hours.

Go out next week for the LIV event to see it first hand.

Went a few years back to spectate a college tournament. Amazing course would kill to play it. The resident tickets for the LIV season finals for next weekend with fees was just under 40 bucks so easily worth it if you've ever wanted to check it out. I plan on going as long as the weather isn't bad

Just read in the latest issue of Avid Golfer magazine that 2 local daily fee courses are about to shut down for good. They didn’t name them because the courses haven’t made it public yet. Looks like supply is about to go down for daily fee access in a market that is already unable to handle demand. Anyone know what 2 courses it might be?

Anyone have an update on this?

Trails of Frisco today was actually nice today with solid greens, fairways, and tee boxes.   Now the bridge issue on 1 is still a pain in the butt, cart paths are terrible, and not much sand in the bunkers.   I can take the issues if i can have a nice fairway to hit off of and greens that roll smooth and with decent speed.

Good update. I used to play that course all the time, but haven’t been out there in probably 10 years. May have to run by.

Played Indian Creek (Creek) today.

Greens slowish, don’t think they mowed them this morning.

Bunkers appear to be going under renovation.

Tee boxes still as unlevel as any you will find.

Played 2 weeks ago and it was the same.   For some reason that course tears me a new one every time.

I'm looking for opinions on a few courses in the Aledo/SW FTW area. We're considering a relocation.

The courses I'm looking at are Mira Vista Country Club, Split Rail Golf Club, and Whitestone Golf Club. These are obviously different price points, but I'd be curious to get the thoughts from the WRX experts 🙂

Mira Vista is private. I am a member.  It is an awesome club too. Great vibe and a fantastic course. One of my favorites. Feel free to DM me with any questions.

Split rail is a fun course with a fun layout. They have struggled keeping the course up in recent years.

other courses I recommend: Hawks creek, Waterchase, Rockwood, Rangers, Tierra Vierde, Texas Star and many more.

We are looking to live on a course in the Aledo/Benbrook area, ideally in Parker County. Potentially Weatherford.

Mira Vista is very attractive but inside the City of Fort Worth. I figured Mira Vista was a great course based on the way the community looks when you drive through it.

"Why yes Ms. Membership Director, my member referral is Mr. gs1184. He'll vouch for me." 🙂

Good info on Split Rail conditioning. Homes on the course are not much cheaper than those on Mira Vista though there is more land to go with the house it appears.

How is that nightime (lit) Par 3 course in Benbrook? I've got kids, so that looks right up our alley.

Why not look at Sugar Tree or Canyon West.  Have not been to Canyon West so dont know the conditions but the have houses on the course.  Sugar Tree is nice and getting much better and have some very nice houses on the course.

Sugar Tree is on the list. But both of them are a bit further west than we're looking to go. Mira Vista is the right location, but we're looking to get out of Tarrant County.

Played Riverchase off of 360 for the first time ever. It’s only 30 minutes from my house and when I lived in Ft. Worth I used to drive by it on my way to work every day, but never got around to playing it until Thursday. Kind of an odd track. I enjoyed it and like most area courses, it’s in very good shape, but a couple of holes seemed a little too tricked up for my taste. Like the c-shaped par 5. I was told that some of holes had to be redesigned when the river washed out a chunk of the course. Senior rate of ~$40 was attractive!

As mentioned before, Bridlewood remains in phenomenal shape. Greens are as true as I can remember.

Like to being able to go play other courses for the senior rate 😉

Grapevine is awesome right now. But I suck.

No you don’t!!! Driver off the deck better than anyone!!

Tour 18 is in really good condition with fairways green and the greens perfect. If the greens get too quick there it’s a beating but they are really nice as of now

If tour 18 is finally in good condition, I may get out and play it soon. Been wanting to play it for years lol but everytime I look at reviews, it’s in bad shape. Great to hear

It is not. The conditions of the course have always been suspect. The greens are some of the hardest and most punishing public ones in the metroplex. Last year their fairways were sparse. This year they’re replaced and awesome. I was very impressed

Yeah I played out there last year for the first time. The course was fun but the conditions definitely didn’t match the price tag. Glad to hear it’s in better shape.

Woodbridge is ok. It’s suffering from the same plight as Trails of Frisco. Just horrible soil and I can only imagine how foundations are affected in that area. Greens were really slow and I can’t believe how much tree removal has been done

Watters Creek is really nice right now.  Had an old neighbor in town a couple of weeks ago and we went out there. Very impressive all around

Golf Club at champions circle is just weird now since the top golf-ish facility went up there. Back to back par 3s now and another thrown in at 17. Plus 18/9/18/9/18 (how many times have they flipped the nines!) is a par 5.

for anyone here that’s played the 17 versions of this course it’s way easier now. With the 2 holes going towards and away from 35w eliminated.

Any current info on Stonebridge Ranch CC?

Course conditions?

Happy with the membership experience?

Good, bad, ugly?

Also, how easy is it to get early morning weekday tee times? (Mon-Thu).

Wife played it the Lady Dye last week and said the Dye Course was in great shape.

I believe the other course is currently undergoing a Lanny Wadkins renovation.

Can't speak to membership experience or tee times but I'm assuming that you are aware that it is part of Invited (formerly Club Corp).

I am, which is not a deal breaker for me but I am proceeding with.caution. I was surprised to learn that they had no food and beverage minimums or other nickel and dime type charges like I had expected (there are cart fees of course but I walk). I guess each club makes its own choices on that stuff. Always happy to hear cautionary tales though.

Glad to hear that about the Dye course. I hear it’s a beast (supposedly the 2nd hardest course in Tx, at least from the tips).

The Dye Course is one of my favorite courses in the area. And, yes, it's a beast.

Good friend of mine is member there and about 10 years ago he invited me to come down and play the tips with him. Had played the course many times before but got to say, that day, I teed off from some tee boxes that I never knew even existed. But it was fun and, as a short hitting 10 handicapper, I managed to keep it in the low 90's. I remember thinking I may lose a lot of balls so I went to the PGA Store and bought a dozen Pinnacles. To my surprise, I only lost 3 balls that day which I considered a victory!.
