Path Pro for obvious reasons, LOL. Seriously though, there isn't anything you can't work on while getting instant and immediate feedback. I mean I have people that work on alignment, or path, or plane or posture or even the "over the top move." The point is.....regardless of the swing flaw or problem, it can be used to correct it. Imagine that, one tool....fixs any swing fault. I don't want to sound like my infomercial, but.......it works, and works well at that. That's why so many college programs, touring professionals, amateurs and beginners alike are using it.

Best part, new infomercial coming in February with the unprecedented team of Natalie Gulbis, Freddy Couples, Darren Clarke, Peter Kostis, Gary McCord, Bruce Crampton, Michael Breed and a few other pros because they like it.

This is my biased opinion......right?

In my teaching I like to use several training aids. In my opinion the path pro is a great all around tool for learning that everyone should have. I also like to use the impact bag, swing fan,the right angle, heavy clubs, and the Greg Norman secret.

Any kind of heavy club, homemade or store bought. If you want to hit balls with it, I don't, the momentus power hitter is fine. Just make a point to swing it a little every day and it will keep you strong and flexible.

A great alignment aid is a couple of clubs out of your bag. Just put them on the ground and set up to them.

I've purchased the Medicus, 3 Momentus clubs, one the regular iron, one the super heavy one with the dumbell looking thing on the end and the Power Hitter, the Leadbetter Swing Setter and the Path Pro.

I've dumped the Medicus...awful thing that really scewed up my backswing. I dumped the Leadbetter Swing Setter pretty quick too. I could never get those darn magnet working during my swing. I felt I had to do some weird things with my wrist to get them working. I've dumped the Power Hitter after two outings on the range because I swear I was hurting my joints more then fixing my swing. I still use the other two Momentus clubs for stretching out. Really gives me a good stretch in the morning and I use it daily for that more then to correct swing errors. I really don't think it does much for the swing at all.

Finally the PathPro. I watched the informercial and I thought it was initially a gimmick or a big inside approach but since I stay up late at night often, watched it again. I soon realized that having that in my backyard would really be like having one of my friends either holding a club behind me or in front of me when I'm at the driving range. I purchased the Pathpro and set it up in my backyard. After explaining to my neighbors that I wasn't weird  I started swiging with it. I set it up at three angles where I felt I needed help. One to the rear to keep me from taking the club too far to the inside in my take away. The second at the top to keep me from overswinging. The third I put it on my left hip to keep me steady through the ball. I really love how it works like having a friend at the range helping me out with my swing problems. It's super easy to set up, and now since I've been using it for quite a while, my neighbors aren't looking at me so weird anymore. :cheesy: Easily the best swing fixer upper I've ever purchased. Pretty neat too...I didn't know the Path Pro guy was a member here. Now I even feel better about my purchase. :clapping:

The only people I've heard critize the path pro are those who haven't tried it. I agree with you that it helps so many problems. It is not one dimensional like the other aids.

The Swingyde is the best in my limited experience that I've tried. It helps back up what my instructor has had me working on. I put it on a wedge and swing with my left only, not hitting a ball, then take my grip and hit some wedges. After using it I am puring my iron shots, pulling through with the left arm and firing them all over the targets.

I'd like to try the path pro since the main thing I want to work on this winter is shortening my backswing. It'll save a lot of money spent at $80 an hour for the pro to sit there holding a club over my head, which is about 95% of what my lesson consisted of.

How easy is the Path Pro to breakdown, setup and carry? I can use the large grass area at the range away from everyone but how would it work in a stall (mainly for the backswing issue)?

I was just at GolfSmith and tried out the Swing Setter, Swing Stik, Momentus Power Hitter, and Momentus Strength Trainer. I didn't see how the Swing Setter or Swing Stik would help me out right now. And the power hitter was just another weight club. The Momentus Stregth Trainer was the best out of those IMO. It felt like it was putting me in the right places in the golf swing. Is it supposed to just be a strength trainer or is it also used to help with the proper swing elements?

Path Pro - everything else gets boring after awhile, but the Path Pro is so versatile it makes it the best.

I like the Swingyde. It works for every club in the bag. I like the Momentus Iron for warming up and stretching.

I can swing the Medicus and still hit bad shots.

How do you use a Swingyde? What does it do for your game?

You attach the device to any club. You set up your club in relation to the ball and see if you can maintain a particular swing plane on the backswing and follow through (as the device contacts your forearms).

http://www.swingyde.com.au/

When I feel like the FW woods are not doing what I intend to do ( put one on the club and take some practice swings to get it on plane).

It helps me slow down my backswing, pause for an instant, trigger the downswing and ensure that the followthrough is correct.

Z.
When teaching using the Swing Fan, which model do you use? I noticed some of the ads say they like the ladies model for fluidity if the person already has a fast swing speed. Others also commented on trying to swing the fan too hard and getting bad habits. What is considered a fast swing speed and what do you use? Good luck to your Packers! Thanks, Gordo

I agree 100%.

Obviously, you need to be practicing and ingraining the right things, but the secret really is in the dirt...

Of the true 'training aids' the camcorder is the best one. The ability to see what you're actually doing as opposed to what you think you're doing (and to develop the sensation of the right technique) is invaluable.

Mat,

Sometimes I think you must be my "separated at birth" twin. Hmm, that might explain the lack of baby photos? lol

You're not 43 years old are you?

Scary how often I agree with you!

hehe... why?...

Though I agree with Hoganfan as well. camcorder are really important. especially the SD type camcorders. " they can preview and transfer data much easier"
