Going to go with the suede strap to start I think. the pocket positioning on the bag fits perfectly with how I like to carry, which is a real plus for me.

 

In your experience, do you think a 40oz water bottle and short-sleeve wind pullover would fit into the larger pocket?

 

 

My first trip out with it was right after Christmas and it was one of those days that started with frost on the ground and ended in the upper 50s so I had a few layers that I shed throughout the day. It was tight but I rolled everything up and I was able to get everything in the bag, I think I may have had a uninsulated Yeti in my bag as well. Most of the time I have a 25 oz. Yeti, wallet, and keys in the big pocket and my golf balls, tees, and phone in the little pocket. If you pack well it can hold a lot of stuff.

Another very happy Koger user here. No rain hood option but because I use all the time and in all weathers I got one of the Titleist rain hood/towels - brilliant for covering your bats in bad weather and no faff.

 

As part of my minimalist journey I also got rid of my umbrella and invested in a good rain hat (the big fisherman style Galvin Green) and good FJ waterproofs. There’s something weirdly enjoyable about being out in the elements with good clothing!

PhilWal,  Thanks for the hot tip, I'm all in on that.  My koger's been hitting those dewy misty coast mornings but the heavier stuff is coming.  I get a laugh, I have two leather bags that came with leather rain hoods and a Koger waterproof bag that didn't.   I also have a fondness for a little rain play, it can be quiet and calming and reminds me of many matches in the rain from competitions when I was younger.

I don't remember, twenty five years ago maybe.  If they made it it's probably on ebay?  Wood Brother Kool Kat F1.

They were digging deep to make sales at that point but a damn fun persimmon at the very end of persimmons.

I've been at a full set all season ... took out 9 today ... in 30+ mph wind, shot a 69. Average for the season is 69.5

Love it! In all honesty, I think distance off the tee is the most overrated part of the game, at least for most amateurs. I typically play anywhere from 6,000 to 6,300 yards and 200ish off the tee is plenty.

I agree on the 7w or a 5w which normally I pick.  Doing a 1 persimmon only game and my favorite old Hogan 5w came apart so going for broke with the big lumber.  And no hollow body or gooey irons next week, one piece forged out of production whatever flavor.
