My 2025 setup, won't be changing anything in this all year, other than maybe rotating some putters:

Bag: Sunday Golf El Camino - absolutely perfect for 8 clubs. I have a Mackenzie, but i'll be honest. I prefer a stand bag

  1. Taylormade BRNR Mini Driver (11.5*)
  2. Taylormade Stealth 4 hybrid (22*)
  3. MP20 5 iron (27*)
  4. MP20 7 iron (34*)
  5. MP20 9 iron (42*)
  6. Vokey SM9 GW (50*)
  7. Vokey SM9 LW (58*)
  8. Ping PLD anser

@boontya, I’ve gone from a Ping Moonlite to the Koger small carry bag and both companies seem to overestimate the amount of clubs their bags can hold lol. So I would imagine that most companies state their bags can hold more than they do.

Hi,

I’m glad you like our bag!
Your thoughts on the price are exactly how I feel about the cost of things myself. When I worked as a cabinetmaker, we had a saying: It’s not expensive, but it’s a lot of money 🙂

I’m curious—how many clubs and what grips do you carry, and in what way do you find the bag too small?

I play with 8–10 clubs in the small version myself and don’t feel it’s too tight unless I really packed the big pocket full of clothes and other stuff. That made it a bit tricky to pull the clubs out, but no more than with any other carry bag. I had the same issue with a larger Titleist bag I used to own.

Isn’t this a common problem with all carry bags? The clubs tend to “twirl” around, and the rubber grips create some friction. The only real solution would be to have individual tubes for each club.

Sorry for rambling — I’ve given this quite a bit of thoughts.

What do you think?

Yes it’s the norm there and it’s wonderful. When you play at a good pace I don’t get tired the same way as when a round takes 5 hours. So playing 36 over there is nothing.

Here in Sweden we have the same problem as you have. The standard time for 18 holes is 4:30. And people mostly walk using a trolley. So I’m not sure it’s a cart problem. Even though I think it adds to round times.

I believe the biggest problem is people ain’t ready when it’s their turn.
You could easily take away 2-3 minutes per hole (x18) just by being prepared. And that would not interfere at all in the amount of time you want to talk to your golfing buddies.

@Johannes, that is interesting. Yes, playing ready golf does make a huge difference. I don’t think a lot of people here mind to be on the course for 5-6 hours lol. If I’m going to be out there that long I want to be playing 36+. One of my favorite things to do is to get to a course in the morning and play as many holes as I can until dark. The faster I play the more golf I can get in.

@Johannes, for the past 2 summers I have played 72 on or around the Summer Solstice. I got the idea from the Summer Solstice rounds they play at Bandon. I plan on continuing this until it’s physically impossible. This year for my birthday I played 54, it was November and I ran out of daylight. Now an 18 hole round feels like nothing.

@Johannes can you share what’s in your Koger bag? How many clubs do you play?

Absolutely.
I normally play 8 or 9 clubs depending on course.

My set up:

Scotty Cameron Newport 2

Geom 52,57 wedges

Miura MB-001: 4,6,8,Pw irons

Callaway utility wood

Titleist TS2 driver

I also play a lot of round where I swap my modern driver for persimmons. And there I use a mix of Cleveland, Ben Hogans and a Titleist. Just recently got my hand on a couple of Honmas. But haven’t tried them yet.

ps. The late reply was due to a had already used up my number of reply for a day. I didn’t knew that even existed. Maybe I need to get a premium account or something 🤪

Great set up, I would love to have some Miuras one day. I played a persimmon driver for most of last year and it’s definitely a different game. I just got a new to me Ping G LS TEC, and it honestly feels like cheating lol. I’m still on the fence about how I feel about that. I’m currently trying to bring my handicap down, so that makes the most sense for now.

@Johannes beautiful set up. Persimmons really are a blast to play with. Those

mb-001 irons are no joke, that 47° PW is perfect.

@WipeyFade is the champion of both the persimmon game and koger golf bags.

Yes. I really happy with my set up. The Miura are as nice as the say. I was lucky to get my hand on these from a friend.

So how many and what are you guys playing?

I’m been half set now for 4-5 years. And have nooo thoughts on going full. It’s actually the decision to go full time half set that lead me on the path to make my own bag 🤪 as there where no good bags for that. Off course the Mackenzie, but they don’t work that well here in Sweden with our weather conditions. We need to be able to bring rain jacket and sweater. They weather changes fast and you can never trust the forecasts.

@Johannes, I just saw your Instagram story with Bogey Train Films. The first thing I did was find them on YouTube, and with only a few videos posted, there are 3 showcasing my bucket list courses  Shiskine, Machrihanish, and Dunaverty. Looks like I’ve found what I’m doing this afternoon. I’m starting to lose interest in the PGA Tour unless it’s a major. Real golf is so much better.

Can’t agree more. The whole LiV thing and all the talk about that just made it boring. And also the way they hit ball today. It’s not like you think “I can do that” anymore 😂
Watching people enjoying the game and the sceneries. That’s where I’m now as well.
And off course some nice morning rounds enjoying the walk, listening to the birds. That’s what I’m longing for now 🥂

Quite often for the last couple of seasons I have played with a reduced set. I enjoy the game the most walking and carrying my clubs. I don´t know, it just feels more free and natural that way. Fatigue does set in if I try to carry a full set for 18 holes so this year, with inspiration from this group, I will go pure half set for all rounds, competitions and casual family  strolls alike 😃

I sold my irons and ordered a couple of single T200s and a 48 degree Vokey. Now I can´t wait for the season to start to try out my setup.

A little OCD is in play; There is 10 degrees of loft between every club except for the driver. (I do like the Cobra a lot, otherwise an 8 degree Titleist would probably find its way into the bag...)

Yeah I’ve got a set of the OG Cobra one lengths I’ve used since they came out that I hit really well and for some reason when I played these longer clubs I hooked them like crazy and I usually play a fade
