Has my shaft been tipped? Shaft Measurements from raw tip to graphics

Pretty sure the shaft goes farther into the adapter than that.

You mean the shaft does not go into he adapter that far.

You are not measuring it correctly the insertion depth into the adapter where it meets the ferrule should only be 1-1.25". That looks to be 1.5" in your pic.

Well, I said your measurement was off but i didnt say that a correct measurement would still be correct 😂

 

being 1/4" off still leaves you with 1/2" discrepancy if in fact the 4" on the hyb shaft is a correct raw measurement.

 

Either the shaft is not installed all the way down the adapter inside of it, Fujikura changed their graphics, or the shaft is fake.

 

Is the shaft an install by an OEM or done by a local shop with an aftermarket adapter?

Haha. This sucks. I bought it off the bay and is definitely an aftermarket adapter.

The reason I am singling out an aftermarket adapter is because 8 times out of 10 I have to sand down the inside of the adapter with a reamer and/or sand off more than I normally do from a shaft tip to get them to fit on shafts all the way with the full 1-1.25" seating depth. It's possible whoever installed this adapter didnt seat the shaft all the way down and it's dangerously shallow in there. Even the buffoons at golf stores will mess this up.

 

I am a huge proponent of not using the $7 Amazon/Ebay chinesium adapters (OEM only even if it's a pull from a used OEM shaft) - some here claim the cheapies are just fine - but I've seen too many issues and differences with them.

 

YMMV.

 

Only way to see what's up is to pull the adapter IMO if you are 100% certain it's a real shaft first.

Thanks so much for your help. I was able to confirm with Fujikura that the hybrid is also 4” from the E. I suspect you are correct that it is installed very shallow.

Looking for the measurements for a Hzrdus Green Smoke (Taylormade issue) for raw tip to graphics. This is not the IMO or RDX version. Matte gray shaft, bright green graphics. Any help would be appreciated... even if you have one thats been tipped it would be a starting point for me. Thank you

If it is the same as the second gen smoke black it should be:

I misunderstood this, sorry. The regular LINQ shaft is 24" to the Q in LINQ, but the TSPX line is ~21.25" from the tip to the flex rating (6F5, etc).

Just stumbled on this thread: does anyone have measurements for Tensei pro white 1k? Specifically 60tx though I wouldn’t think flex would matter. Tip to “xlink tech” would be ideal, and/or butt end to white shaft band. Even better if someone could tell me how much shaft would be inserted into callaway adapter.

 

This is a shaft I purchased off of eBay.

 

if possible, the same for a Diamana TB would be great. This one is a bonded hosel Apex 2024 uw 42” total length. I have no idea how far the shaft would typically be inserted into the bonded hosel.

Just fyi, I ended up emailing Mitsubishi through their website contact form and they got right back to me with answers to both of my questions. Might take a little more digging to come up with your specs but you could give it a shot.
