Funny stuff Q. Naw see I had a post up early that was announcing what I was going to be doing today ( like any of you blokes care) and I changed my mind. I said to myself just throw up a post tonight with a photo regarding what today held for me. So stay tuned.

Also ( though not enacted here) as commissioner I have the right to hold my place in line with simply a period as a post. Kind of like the clout you have in the VIP lines at L.A.'s , Chicago's, Nashville's, Seattle's, and Miami's finest club Mr. First Class. Qqq :)

My week 10 picks

 

 

Carolina +5 Too many points as the Packers defense has fallen off a good bit since the opening weeks. The Panthers D line will get a good bit of pressure on Aaron "God" Rogers.

 

LA Rams -4 ( fact: Sean Mcvay not including the loss to the Patriots in the SB is 10-0 against the AFC) ---- (another fact: when I take them, or pick against the Steelers this year I have always lost the pick)

 

San Fran -6 1/2 I love me some Russel Wilson for sure, but he can't do it alone in Prime Time on GQ Jimmy's stage. Though if he does guide the winning drive for the Seahawks as he is apt to do, he should damn well lock up League MVP. I would sure love to see him get it For Sure!

 

 

 

It is quite possible that these cheerleader photos I keep posting are contributing to my 5 week downward slide in the standings. My home state's Panther girls reverse the trend this week boys.

So yesterday was my birthday and it was a 3 club wind with a high of 41 degrees in Asheville forceasted.

What was a birthday boy to do that was golf related on a day that he took off from work?

Well I headed south. I had never been to a Top Golf before. They just opened up a new one this past spring in Greenville, SC. That is an hour's drive south of me. It was 57 degrees there.

My golf buddies took me for an afternoon of fun. I was pretty impressed with the place, and the service was outstanding. The complimentary desert was fab. Fresh cooked warm donut holes with 2 accompanying sauces that were served in syringes. Quite a clever and a special presentation.

So I did involve golf shots in the outdoors on my birthday after all. Mission accomplished.

This boy, ole touch turned 58.

Any of you been to a Top Golf?

 

 

The last photo was me trying to feather a baby lob wedge just over the edge of the hitting bay to a target 23 yards out but directly 60 some feet below. lol a fun test that took precise "touch" !

I fear a photo of the Pantherettes will not be catalyst you seek, perhaps a sexy still shot of Steely McBeam? Certainly inspired pics regardless, though I wonder if the most important aspect of picks is to know just enough to not really know anything.

Not watching games today...

I got to get outdoors for my mental health. Most of these games I have no interest though. Rams vs Steelers look good. If Ben was playing I would be all over the Steelers I still think their defense can turn over Goff on the road. But I can not bring myself to take them with the Rams coming off a bye. I think McVay will scheme his way enough to mask some of Goff's mistake-prone throws. I am going to say what the heck! I am off of the Rams and pretty boy McVay...give me the Steelers and that defense! +4 Big risk here but what is the reward on picking the Dolphins over Indy? Or Indy over the Dolphins...kinda like the pig riding in a convertible...."weeeeeeeee"

Fantasy footballers should be scrambling to pick up Josh Reynolds for the Rams! Steelers +4

 

Finally, a decent Monday Night game for Booger to gush about. What a crew! Espn, what has become of the iconic brand?

 

Sunday is going to be a coming-out party on Prime Time TV! "Wait For wait for it, the most scrutinized Qb in the NFL Touches guy, Kirk Cousins!" Will it be enough to beat Dallas at home? Don't really know? Minnesota's defense will be the culprit as Cousins plays pretty well even missing his number 1 receiver. Not picking that game LoL But its the only one worth pressing keys on my laptop for... The regular games all suck.

 

That said give me Green Bay -5 at Home!

Out here in the hinterlands the ground is frozen, my mind is frozen, and football continues on.

 

There was a time, when Thursday's game would have been considered must see TV, akin to MASH, Friends, and Cheers. Now, its an ascending team without its franchise QB and a team who ate up the hype only to puke up on itself. The music threads in the 19th Hole have picked up again, the usual "What would you buy?" questions have popped up on the board, and the overwhelming answer is to wait until you can hit on grass. The world rotates, and oftentimes I wonder if we haven't been here before. And, honestly, I think i have. Neil Young has a new album out with Crazy Horse, Aerosmith is killing it in Vegas, and Jimmy Smits is back on TV... welcome to the past.

 

In honor of the finest songwriter ever, I feel Helpless (see 60's music thread for my favorite version). This could also be the theme song for one, Baker Mayfield. All the hype, all the accolades, all the... losses? Yep, and he is running into a defensive buzzsaw this Thursday night. I had never heard of Minkah Fitzpatrick, but I can now say, he is the real deal. Given that OBJ is a baby who was, now understandably, permitted to walk on the Giants and their coach is so out of his depth, I have to take the Steelers to cover the points. In fact, I expect them to win.

 

So Jameis Winston in another nod to Neil, Why Do I Keep F*&king Up?, loves to throw INTs. NO is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Falcons and I expect better from Drew and Alvin. So I am going to pick the Saints in a laugher. Can I just say, if you check into this song, pick the Weld version, you will not regret it.

 

Lastly, let's pick on our most dysfunctional city. "Keep on Rockin in Free World" Dan Snyder, you deserve it. You have taken a storied franchise and decimated it to the best of your ability. You prove, as do many of your DC comrades, that having money is not a pre-determining factor of intelligence. Or, should I say, we all have gifts in which we excel, and perhaps professional sport oversight is not one of yours. It's OK, I can't do math, sometimes we just have to see ourselves and make good decisions. There is a reason I am not a math teacher or a physicist, and there is a reason you shouldn't be an NFL owner, but I digress. I think even LeVeon Bell can get 50 yards this week. I am picking the Jets and taking the points.

 

One last thing about our most dysfunctional city, any politician who plays this Neil Young song is a fool, just listen to the lyrics...

Oops, I was unclear. Weld was his live album from his 91-92 tour with Crazy Horse. Which was one of the finest stadium shows I have ever had the pleasure to witness. Social Distortion opened up for them because as many know, Neils kids are autistic and they were his kids favorite band. Also the reason why he purchased Lionel Trains out of bankruptcy because the O guage were big enough for his children to manipulate. Here it is, no video, but an artistic masterpiece... again, in my humble opinion.
