Meh i agree and disagree and sometimes after I round I think I should have enjoyed that more, relaxed and not jumped out of the cart as soon as i put the brake on and immediately hit the next shot.

 

HOWEVER I, and a lot of other people, have a wife and kids. If I leave an hour before a round to commute and get ready, play a 5 hour round, then take another 30mins to get home...I'm gone the whole damn day and my opportunities to play golf would diminish significantly.

If the group ahead of you is 250 out, waiting for the group on the green to clear before hitting their second shot and proceeds to duff it or hit it 100 yards, they should be kicked off the course or at minimum required to let you play through immediately.

 

Cant tell you how many times i've seen this happen. Hell they didnt even drive the ball 250, yet they are gonna hit their 3wood 250...OK!

I will say my home club does not have a slow play problem. In fact, it's arguable that it has a fast play problem. We will play cash games where people have to putt out and sometimes we have 5-somes and everybody is so overly conscious about being labeled as 'slow' we'll often play that 5-some In 3:45 and guys will be jogging to tees complaining that 'we need to speed up.'

 

I think the slowest round I've ever played there took 4:10.

Hey, I hear ya, I've got 2 of my own and a wife to get back to. But if I don't have enough time for both family and golf, that's on me and not the rest of the course and I have to adjust accordingly, either with less golf or playing at a different time, both of which I've done before. I can't expect everybody on the course to cater to my needs.

1. Alcohol on the course and people under the influence should be banned.

2. Golf manufacturers need to start producing cart bags where I can’t t see their brand name or logo. I’m not your billboard.

3. Anyone who shouts on tee shots at a pro event should be forcefully relocated to driving distance on a blind tee shot. Only let them stand there. Enforce a no shouting of fore rule until every moron who shouts has been hit and is sincerely sorry.

4. 99% of golfers out on the course couldn’t break 90 if their life depended on it.

5. Cheating is way beyond rampant in amateur golf.

6. Making the game too easy by reducing rough and encouraging bombing of courses has in turn brought the knuckleheads into golf. Making courses play easier to speed up play will encourage even more knuckleheads to play those courses.

7. Telling someone their behaviour isn’t acceptable is not snobbery. It’s the last hope for maintaining decency within society. We’ve already negated Darwinism via safety laws and medicine. After all, if we hadn’t, most of our celebrities would have died before they reached adulthood.

8. Driving ranges should have slow play pods at 50 yards for offenders on the course. But like a shark cage and anybody who can hit the pod gets bonus balls for scaring the pod occupant.

Pro golfers should be allowed to use rangefinders, then they wouldn't need caddies

Golf balls should be sold in packs of 15 for the same price as 12. That way a dozen wouldn't cost as much

The person with the worst score on a hole should be the first one to tee off on the next hole. Why make them 'just feel worse'?

Divots should be ground under repair. It's dumb to hit the fairway which is what you are supposed to do to get the best lie then just go oh well when you get screwed over by a divot.

I personally think tournament golf should be one ball only. If you go out of bounds, lose the ball or hit into the water then that should be that for you.
