I own all types of pullovers and jackets and find that I prefer whichever fit me best.  Right now that’s the Peter Millar hoodies.  Love them.  Warm, fit just right so I can swing easy, and they don’t sag at all.  And I don’t know how the hood on it would ever interfere with my swing.  Mine stays put just fine.  I don’t use the hood much, but it keeps my neck warmer than my other pullovers.

Do you have the pine performance hoodie? I just ordered on along with the stealth 1/4 zip earlier today, curious how they’ll fit.

I have a bunch of the stealth quarter zip.  I’d say they fit very closely, which surprises me because the Stealth is tailored fit and the pine is classic fit.  The pine may have a little more room at the waist/bottom, but they’re so close.  I like the fit of both.  I’m 6’1”/180, 16/35, 41/42 suit jacket.  If the Pine is roomier, it’s not by much.

Awesome! I’ve got a crown comfort pullover 1/4 zip that I like but wish it was just a touch less room at the bottom..but not so much so that I wouldn’t buy another.. It sounds like they’ll both either be consistent or maybe even a little better fitting, either way I’m pumped.

It could have been the cheap one they had for sale in the pro shop (not cheap price wise, that's for sure), or it could be my wonky violent swing, lol. Or it could have been the 25-30mph winds. I just know I was having to flip the hood off my shoulder constantly, and it was flapping in the wind around my neck.

You’re not crazy, some hoods are worse than others but it definitely happens. Now that doesn’t stop me from saying maybe THIS hoodie will be different and buying it (as I did yesterday).. but that’s a different problem lol. In my defense I also needed a “smart business casual” type hoodie so even if I don’t wear it to golf in, it’ll still get plenty of use.. and i can at least claim I intended for it to be dual use when my wife asks why I spent that much on a hoodie lol.

I hate how the hood is deadweight tugging the front of the neckline against my throat.  You either have to constantly be tugging the front of the thing back down or just have the hood up.  Hate them.

I wear them all the time and this has never happened to me once.

Puddles, leaves, I was playing a round with a few people that I was placed with by the course.  We were driving to one of their balls and literally WATCHED a squirrel run onto the fairway and take one of their balls and run up a tree with it.

I've seen turkeys pick up balls and run off.

My "home" course is a local public course in the DFW metroplex.  They do offer some pretty good "membership" deals for those guys who can get out more than once or twice a month.

My buddy and I pull up to the starter for our 12:10pm tee time this last Saturday at 12:07pm.  The guys we were paired with were there waiting as well.  The 12pm tee time group is just shooting the sh!it with the starter instead of playing up (11:50am guys are leaving the first green).  I ask the starter if we can go and the guys standing there said "No. We're up." and continued talking for another four or five minutes.  So, they teed off on number 1 almost two holes behind.

Starter tells us as the drove down to the tees, "Those guys are all members and are all really good golfers.  That guy in the coral shirt is a 4.  They will catch up."

4 my @ss.  I'd like to play him for some of his cash.

My unpopular opinion is WHETHER YOU ARE A MEMBER OR NOT, SUCK FASTER.

5 hours and 15 minutes later, they finished four holes behind the group in front of them.  Rangers would do nothing because "they are members."  OF A PUBLIC COURSE. That I've been playing for 20+ years now.  These guys stood on the 18th green prior to taking any putts for 5 minutes.  No idea what they were doing.  Jackwagons.

Don't be a jackwagon.  Suck faster.
Sorry for the rant.

OK, so why didn't you ask to play through, and skip a hole if they refused? Not going to follow a group of clowns while they're are open holes ahead.

Let them call the pro shop and have them send out a ranger if they don't like it. They can explain why they were several holes behind and refusing to let a faster group play through.

I agree about playing through, but I hate the whole, skip a hole idea. I'm not skipping a hole because someone else is being a "jackwagon." There is no guarantee that I can come back to it, and my group deserve the opportunity to play the hole, and the course as it is intended too.

Money talks. That's one of those cases where when you hit the turn you go in, explain the situation, and make them refund you. Far easier than having to deal with more from the group ahead, and losing booked rounds will send the message faster than any amount of arguing you might have to do with the starter or "preferred" groups.

I also hate to skip a hole, but then I'm not going to complain about a 5+ hour round if I don't.

That said, the course should be slapped silly for not monitoring the pace and taking corrective action before it goes to hell in a handbasket. Sigh.

People that think you are ‘aggressively playing fast’ while they play a 4.5 hour round with open holes in front of them and do aim point on the three footer they just rolled past the hole are AH’s and shouldn’t be allowed back on the course until they apologize to everyone they held up individually and with sincerity.  The guys behind you that don’t want to wait on every single shot aren’t the problem.

You don’t need a head cover for every club.

high handicaps shouldn’t be allowed to play the tips

people that aren’t in a match play event that don’t play ready golf are wankers

Ah, sorry to hear you use covers for your irons.  😁

Absolutely! If I can keep my woods in good shape, why not my irons! I love the look of a pristine set of blades. Plus I typically walk and with my hearing aids the chatter drives me nuts. Although to be honest, I've used iron covers since my first set of clubs when I scraped and saved to buy them and didn't want them getting marred while bouncing around in the bag. Also had an amazing dad who worked hard to make a living and raised me to take care of what I have and make it last since ultimately the Lord is the one who provided it. No shame here. I'm sure that people much better than you have harassed me about it. I don't embarrass easily and don't buy into cultural expectations simply because they are cultural expectations.  spacer.png spacer.png

Well, head covers do help to retain the value of iron sets better for that day when you sell them.   I don't have the patience to use them.  Besides, like the old metal spikes on the the parking lot, I rather like the sound of iron chatter in the bag.  The tiny dings have yet to mis-direct a shot.  I can do that all by myself.

I used to use them. They really are great for keeping the irons nice and are quiet. Do you man, don't let the man keep you from having clean looking irons!!!

Why does anyone need to make an announcement on social media that they're in love, and in the same post ask for privacy? If you didn't make a freaking big arse announcement, you'd have your privacy.

I get it, but the rag mags were already talking about it so I think actually announcing it made it less of a big deal than if the rumours continued to swell. I'm sure Steiny was on it telling Tiger that site X,Y, and Z had stories ready to come out.

Isn't it funny how some people like beat up rusty clubs and hold them as some kind of a badge of honor, and love telling people how wrong they are for taking care of their property.

Club cover nazi's are hilarious with their put downs and uppity thoughts and of course they are also better since they keep their beat up stuff longer, well they have too since it is worthless anyway.
