I keep my house and nice car looking great. My truck not so much. It’s for driving through the brush and throwing dead deer and wild hogs into the back. Like my irons, they are functional.

plus who would sell their irons? That’s crazy talk.

What, I thought you were a Wrxer??? Selling to justify buying is the lay of the land from what I can tell!

It's perfectly acceptable to let a few silent ones fly on the tee boxes.

Can judge wind direction and strength, as well as phycological warfare against your group / opponents etc.

I play with some guys that don’t care about the silent part

Yeah, pretty sure there was some kind of turning two balls into many miracle going on in that cargo space. Might have been a genie, though.

On topic, certain people need to steer clear of the practice area. They are as follows:

The Q. Yes, like the Star Trek character and beings who exist outside of space and time these players simply have an infinite time horizon to get things done. These are the people who take an eternity to clear the chipping green like pushing the ball broom around or whacking balls out of the way is some kind of precision exercise and anyone else working on their game will simply have to wait it out. Grab a Snickers, cause we're gonna be here a while.

The Edgelords. Oh, were you already practicing chipping, too? Too bad, they're going to chip right out of the fringe and make sure to be in your way as often as possible, because practicing off lies they should be putting from instead of the real stuff farther out while getting in your line is the only way to live.

The guy from Fargo. Oops, he's just gonna scootch by ya and grab three balls to chip... and then just scootch by ya ten seconds later to grab three more. And gosh darn, wouldn'tcha know it, he realized he should be practicing a cornucopia of chips, so he'd better keep crossing the entire green to hit from somewhere else each time. Why be courteous to everyone else when he can just give abashed looks and awkward hand waves while doing whatever he likes?

The Fugitive. Clearly he's on the run from the course ranger with the way he speeds up to the chipping area, looking around like he's being harried, yet somehow not seeing anyone else who's practicing and doing whatever madness his mind leads him to with no care for whose way he's in. He never notices the dirty looks he gets as he blurs in and out before heading off to shoot his 95, which would have been a 96 had he not spent three minutes rushing back and forth across the practice area.

You've never heard of cricket, have you?

I'd rather watch cricket than baseball. At least there's action on every pitch. Thank goodness they finally added a pitch clock. Oy.

You've got more patience than I have.

Even if it's Test cricket, I'd rather spend the day watching my toenails grow.

Don't cricket matches last days?

Test matches are played over 5 days. However, in the Twenty20 format (T20), each team bats for a single inning of 20 overs.

I was watching Sunday and the talking heads were yapping about one of the players and said something to the effect of his brain cancer caught the fans’ attention and they were cheering him on.

I thought that was hilarious.  No one cared about him until it came out that he’d had brain surgery.  Now they’re all about him.  What the actual f***?  “Well now that you almost died we’re your very own personal Annie Wilkes.”

Went to a Cricket match in Barbados and from what I could tell it was just an excuse to drink and visit with friends. No one seemed to care at all about the actual match or game or whatever you call it.

Of course it could just be my friends there, but it seems the wind blowing is a good reason to drink and visit with friends.

Isn’t that the majority of cart golf in the US? A bunch of guys getting hammered on the course pretending to play? 😉

When people throw down their headcovers across tee boxes and greens.

Much easier to simply place headcover ontop of golf bag/other clubs while hitting.

When people re-rack clubs before getting back into golf cart.

Much faster to just get back into cart while holding club and re-rack and exchange at next shot.

Woodland has been a favorite long before his health scare. Guy was well liked then and still is now. It's not unusual for people to root for someone they already like to overcome a potentially life-threatening issue. Guy had to write his wife and kids letters in case he didn't make it through the brain surgery, and it wasn't an easy road to get back to form, so not hard to see why people respond well to him still.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're entirely wrong that no one cared about him or what was going on with him until the surgery.

Well as a cart person I would say no, but i am sure if you are planning to drink your round even the holier than thou walkers can also get hammered.

I know, I know it is not real golf unless you walk....ha what a crock.

Chill bro.

The public's insistence that athletes have no right to private lives off the field and the relentless pursuit of elimination of boundaries by fans is a deeply unhealthy aspect of fandom.  Athletes and other "victims" of success are vilified or discarded as unmarketable if they won't share everything.

Let their actions on the field define what we are entitled to know.  We are owed nothing more.
