I've given it some serious thought but I just don't see any significant advantage of switching over.  I've tested the LAGP TZ 135 and Fuji MC.  Accra supposedly makes a good one and the MMT putter shaft just came out as well.  Tough to sell me on spending 150+ on a graphite putter shaft.

I have a Stability. They're excellent. The guys there did a great job building what I had on my adjustable to be *exactly* dialled in to my graphite shafted version of the same thing.

Despite my bias towards those guys, realistically the graphite putter shaft is not going to be very different. Its purpose isn't to bend and flex a better way; it's literally to NOT bend, not torque/twist, and as such I don't think you'll need to be too worried about which one you get. They are all designed to simply be Stiff AF without changing the swing weight feel.

So I'd say it's great to get graphite in your putter, but I wouldn't be too worried about which one.

That's exactly what I recommend for players who use longer than standard iron shafts.  The 105TX is a great option at 113-114g.

Well, I took the big plunge and ........ I read this entire thread from start to finish. Only took me 2 days.

Lot of info to digest.  I have the SS for the 125tx, fairly aggressive and late release ...but I'm going to lengthen my irons 3/4". These are still the answers I'm trying to dial in

1. If the same head and length was used, what would be the approximate difference in SW between the 113g 105tx, and the 125g 125tx?

2. Other than .1 torque, is there anything performance wise I'd sacrifice going with the lighter 105tx? Higher launch or spin? Control?

3. What would hard stepping the 105tx do?

4. I'm kinda confused about the differing wedge options people have done. Some have gone less weight, or flex?  Shouldn't those be if anything higher weight/flex, or at least the same?

Any help from those of you with experience I'd appreciate it! I'm going to go to the mega Roger Dunn store in Santa Ana and see if they have any new or used sets with these in them to check out. If anywhere is going to have these, that's the place

Never mind someone already said the MMT is out

Just installed a Stability Tour Black into my SIK DW about 5 minutes ago. Officially have an all graphite shafted golf bag! Definitely didn't think I'd be saying that until I was at least 65! lol

Just spent last few days dissecting this thread. Several arm surgeries, elbow nerve related. My understanding is these play more stiff than x100 (which feel very smooth to me) but should help with dampening miss hits. I guess I have a hard time wrapping my head around how they are more stiff than x100, but can still help with joint issues and feel so good. I’m perfectly happy with my x100 and $ taper 130’s, but if these can extent my playing days as I age I’m all in. Thanks!!

I have played the X100 as well as the $ Taper 130.  I never hit the MMT directly against the other two, so just going off memory.  I wouldn't say it's significantly stiffer.  Maybe a little bit.  But, I can tell you I was suffering from some pretty severe golfers elbow and the switch to MMT helped significantly.  I just installed them into my wedges too.  Love them.

50 and 56 I play alot of full shots. Stick with mmt 125tx or do the wedge specific mmts hold up pretty well with full shots?

Thanks guys!

MMT 125TX have more feel than the X100's ever did for me.  The nice thing is that profile wise, they are very similar.  Very mid/mid for me.  As for the wedge shafts, you can go either way but the scoring wedge MMT 125TX shafts did spin a bit more in wedges compared to the standard 125TX.

Going for it with 105TX ss1x 4-g , 125S in wedges. Had a go with 105S tipped 1/4” and found myself favoring the knockdown shot for control. Loved the vibration dampening. 88-92 7 iron I think. I don’t spend a lot of time on a monitor but a trackman has recently become available.

reference shafts…

dg120 x100 ss1x, good dispersion and enough height but horrible feel

Px lz 6.0, explosive awesome height and distance but could jump left if not timed right. 6.5 just felt so stiff in the handle.

modus 125S, good feel just a touch wobbly in the tip.

modus 120S hs1x, great feel, liked the bottom half weighting. Could get left in a hurry. 120X ss1x was pretty nice too. Oddly both brought the inner half of the blade into play.

amt s400/s300, been my gamers for a while. The longer irons do feel a little loose but overall I like the performance.

A mid weight shaft with higher swing weight and joint saving carbon fiber has to hit the sweet spot. I’ll be doing a proper @Howard_Jones4-9 diy iron fitting. Shafts are in and so are the damn $$iomics because .580 tour velvets can’t be found. I’ll do this over maybe two trackman sessions and knowing what I like then wait for the snow to melt. Will update with results in the spring.

I’m another one of those “I feel my elbow starting to not like steel much” and already liked steelfibers as it is.

Was fitted at PXG for 120g x100 (and then basically fit myself asking if i could throw a 115s steelfiber in) which was great. I’m a mortal though with a 105-111ss depending on time of year, not 120mph wrx status.

I know where there’s a real good deal on some gen 3 0311T with 125tx, I do prefer heavy shafts but i just don’t have the desire to hammer a x100 for days on end after a long day running a lawn business. Can I feasibly handle the 125 for “normal” golf? I have a fairly aggressive transition so im afraid those 80g stiff that pxg sells are going to balloon bad.

*Budget is more in the 0211 / 0211st / gen 2 range, not $1500 iron builds.

You'll be happy with the Iomics.  They are tackier, last a lot longer than the tour velvets, and can be washed and scrubbed to bring the stickiness back.  Even though they are pricey, the Sticky 2.3 is money well spent

MMT 125TX are quite stout and play just a touch stiffer than the X100.  You'd be right at the borderline of being able to load the 125TX IMO.  I would def recommend at least trying them even if it's in another iron head at a store.

Thanks guys!

I soft-stepped mine after trying them straight in for about 2 months. But , I also SS'd my X-100's for the past few years.

I've "Tiger-stepped" my wedges since before it was called that over 20 years ago. The Wedge shafts are really good and I seriously considered switching to them but they were unavailable when I was transitioning from S400/X100. So I went back to the old reliable 8-iron shafts and haven't regretted it for a minute.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Okay team great thread and thank you everyone for participating.  Great knowledge in here.

Since I can't seem to find the EI profiles for these shafts yet would this be the proper summary?

105tx and above are high bend point profile shaft similar to x100.

85, 95 and 105(stiff not tx) taper tip are mid bend point profile shafts similar to modus 120.

90 parallel tip and below are low bend point profile shafts similar to XP 95.

Is this a reasonable summary?

Can anyone verify the above? Curios about modus 120s crossover experiences

First off, thanks to @GMcKelviefor the ferrule inspiration, and a very special thanks to @pdiddy3for his help in getting me these shafts at a great price. Appreciate it!

After a couple months of reading this thread, research, and doing my due diligence figuring out back and hip issues, I went with 125tx coming from Pxi 6.5 and X100 before that. Yesterday was my first round of being able to fully swing after a week of sorta swings and punch shots. I'm really happy with the initial findings. They're hard to describe. Trying to waggle or flex it, they feel stout. Until you hit it. They don't swing stout, more a smoother controlled kick. It's a pleasantly feeling stout. Someone mentioned it makes everything feel softer, or more forged on contact. That's a good description. I haven't really hit them off mats, but I'm hoping the graphite part allows me to do so. I hit a few clankers yesterday (some might have been intentional) that didn't reverberate in my hands and joints like usual, so that's promising. Still much to discover, but looking forward to it

I'll add my $0.02

I have two sets of irons with MMT 125tx. I'm coming off PX LZ 6.5 for the last 5 years with a backup set of Nippon 120X. Before that i had Ctaper 130x and before that x100.

Both of my sets have the MMT softstepped. I ordered the second set of shafts brand new and installed them straight in. While they felt good and definitely playable, i was coming off a set that had them softstepped and there was a noticeable difference in feel. The SS had a kick which i prefer ( i tend to get flippy if i cant feel the shaft load). So i removed the shafts and softstepped instead and went with 105tx for my 4iron.

As far as shafts go, the MMT feel great and are point and shoot. They dont have a bias either way for fade or draw. They launch slightly lower than my LZ 6.5, pretty much on par with Nippon 120x for me. What stands out about the MMT is the LOW SPIN. They do not spin alot for me. LZ 6.5 would spin back maybe 2-3 feet for a 9iron, Ctaper was always hit and stop, and X100 i would rip off the greens 15-20 feet. The MMT will almost release 2-3 feet forward. I have a full simulator at my house with a GC3 and the spin on my irons is around 2k less than the club number using traditional lofts (46*pw). So my 9i is spinning 7k, etc.... Ideally i'd like it to spin a little more but so far on the course it hasnt been a problem. I played last night and had 154 into 15mph wind on a par 3, normally thats a stock 9i with no wind, but i tried to hit the 9i anyways b/c short was better than long. The wind didnt even touch the ball. Flew to pin high 10 feet right like it was no big deal.

I also had a set of 105tx in my PXGs before the 125tx. The 105 felt AMAZING but they just wanted to bend left on me too much. I couldnt stay patient in transition long enough to keep from over drawing them. If i didnt already have so many sets i'd try a set of 105tx tipped or hardstepped. But either way i'm very happy. I battle a lingering TFCC injury on my left wrist, so graphite was a needed change for me.

Yes, I did. Played PX 6.5 for 20 years and my hands and wrists had enough. Best decision I've ever made switching to the MMT 125TX. Love everything about them. Absolutely no hand or wrist pain. I'm 45 yrs old and swing my 6 iron at 98-99mph.

Haven't been on a simulator but on course I've noticed no difference.

My last set with PX 6.5 were the Z785's and my new set is the MMT 125TX with ZX7's.

Same TM TP5X ball.

Also, about a half a club longer which I wasn't really looking for or need.

Thanks alot for your post.

I have played the same shafts. Right now I play the Apex TCB with Project X LS 6.5 and I truly hate that shaft. I ordered the clubs with the Project X LZ 6.5 but Callaway messed up. Before that Modus 120X.

Plays my iron 0.5" longer.

This summer I will be 50, have a driver ss of around 114, 6 iron ss around 90.

Launch my irons very high and would prefer to have a lower launching shaft.

Now the big problem - Choosing between MMT 125S or 105TX?

Im located in Sweden and has now way of testing them here so I have to order and hope it's right.

Been reading through all 37 pages of this tread and when I read yours I felt you have been closest to my specs.

I'm a little concerned that the 125S will be to heavy in the long run but also concerned that the 105TX will feel to light?

What's the big difference in feel between the 2?

Any other input in this and I will be most greatfull.

Cheers 🙏

Any other input in this and I will be most greatfull.

Cheers 🙏

The 105TX are 113 grams in that flex.  So, it's not the full 20 gram difference the model name would suggest.

I finally got around to hitting my i210's with MMT 125TX, went with a few 105TX in the 5 and 6. Unreal feel, so smooth and buttery. I was checking distances at the range with my PRGR launch monitor, and noticed they were around 5-10 yards further than the stock AMT shafts. I did notice a slight increase in clubhead speed, I got my 5 iron up to 100 mph, and it's usually around 95 or so with the old shafts.  Played my first round with them yesterday, and even though I haven't been playing much or practicing the past few months, had my best GIR in a long time (of course I turned 3 birdies into bogies, not great with the flatstick)

I had the clubs reshafted by fellow member JustinD, and he did an amazing job!!! It was my first build done by him, and I'm sure won't be the last. Great guy and so easy to work with, don't hesitate to reach out to him for any work you need done!!

I just put the 125S in my Rev 33's. Previously I had the 105S MMT in them but had a fitting and went to Nippon 120S for some more weight. I missed the graphite so just put these in right before March. I have only played three rounds but so far so good. Feel like I load these well and the dispersion is amazing. Still play s-400 in my wedges but may look to go to the mmt in those as well.
