Are the 105TX and the 125TX the same "flex", just with around 12 grams weight difference?

I have a mixed set of 105 and 125. They feel like the same flex, very stout, and the difference in weight is barely noticeable.

I don’t agree. They can’t feel the same and can’t be the same flex if they are different thicknesses(which is true if they are lighter). The 105tx feels loose to me in comparison and they only want to over draw. For reference i swing a 6i at 94mph.

I just put the 125S in my Rev 33's. Previously I had the 105S MMT in them but had a fitting and went to Nippon 120S for some more weight. I missed the graphite so just put these in right before March. I have only played three rounds but so far so good. Feel like I load these well and the dispersion is amazing. Still play s-400 in my wedges but may look to go to the mmt in those as well.

I’ve got a set of 921 HMP for backups and thinking about tossing the 125S in them

They can feel pretty much the same, the 105TX actually weighs in at 113 grams, and the 125 is 125 grams, so a 12 gram difference isn't that much in reality. I had a few partners, all low single handicaps hit them and they all said they feel pretty much the same. My 5 iron SS with the new MMT's is around 100mph now, was around 97 with the stock Ping shafts.

Anybody transition into MMTs from Project X LZ 6.0 or 6.5? I’d love to hear a comparison in terms of feel, launch, how the flexes compare.

So I'm about 36 holes in with the 105s (played 9 hole practice rounds both Saturday and Sunday this and last weekend) and I'm pretty sure I can never go back to steel.

More than anything else - ZERO elbow or wrist pain. Seriously none. This was the whole reason I even started considering them and it's been a good while since I could play as much as I've been without my right elbow or wrist being sore; sometimes to the point gripping anything in my right hand was tough.

But also - and probably largely going from 130g S400s to 105g MMTs contributes a lot - my long iron game is back. I've always loved hitting a long iron and it took longer than it should have to give up on a 3. And it was getting there with my 4 to the point I've had a 24° TSi hybrid in my PGASS shopping cart. But man, I've been flushing the ol 4 and 5 the last couple weekends.

Interested in the same.  Currently play PX LZ 6.5 +.75" so they are pretty heavy.  Developed some nasty elbow tendonitis last year that sidelined me for a bit.  Thinking about the 125 MMT.

I played LZ 6.0 first and then LZ 6.5 0.5"longer and really liked them.

When I ordered my new set of Callaway TCB with the LZ 6.5+0.5" but they truly messed up and put the LS 6.5 shaft in.

I hated this shafts from day one and tomorrow my new MMT 105 TX arrives.

Was choosing between 105 TX and 125 S. After alot of thinking and reading I choose the 105 TX, getting old and think I will benefit from a little lighter shaft. I have never tried the MMTs but really looking forward to them. Had elbow surgery 3 times last year and I really hope these shaft will make a difference.

Will let you know in a few days how they feel.

Thanks, would love to hear it.  I went back and look, I had my spec wrong, I'm at +1" on my LZ's.  Debating between 105 and 125 MMT but kind of thinking that if I get the MMT's longer then the 105TX will be perfect at 113g + the weight of the extra length.  Should pick up a little speed which I like the idea of if for no other reason that getting the same distances with less effort.

Very interested to hear about the elbow pain, that's one of my big motivators with that golfer's elbow - it's going on 8-9 months now and it's better but it's not gone by any means.

I’m in the same boat as you. It’s been about 8 months with pretty severe elbow pain. My left elbows worse off then the right but both hurt. Currently playing project X 7.0s and have no idea if 125tx would be playable. But thinking of switching also.

I think I'm actually going to give the 105TX a try since it will really be more like 115-118g after my added length.  I've always played heavier shafts in my irons but it's worth a shot considering all the other factors with elbow pain, etc.  If that ends up being too light then I'll go with the 125TX.

Will the MMT scoring wedge 125TX play softer than the wedge shaft from the normal MMT taper iron 125TX?

Ya, a tiny bit -- I feel like mine are exactly the same, and my irons are soft-stepped.

Anyone else experiencing low spin with 125tx? I love the launch, dispersion, flight, distance, basically everything about these shafts but they definitely spin low for me.

I play the 125tx soft stepped and i also own a Foresight GC3 and my spin is consistently 2000 less than the club number off of 46* pw lofts. So my 9i is spinning at 7000 indoors and 8iron 6000 etc....

I have not had a single ball spin back and i play these all the way to my sand wedge. Its kind of odd, most hit and release a couple feet.

I really love the shafts, but its weird how they just dont spin much.

Can anyone comment on these compared to Project X Catalyst 100’s? Currently playing them in 6.0 flex. Waiting on a set of 105TX MMT’s to come in. Will most likely be soft stepping them 1x but we will see. Really like the catalyst 100’s but just wanted to give these a shot. Have read nothing but good things in here about the MMT’s.

if not, no big deal. I’ll conduct my own testing between the two.

They spin less for me than the Recoil protos did which is great for me.  I'm a high launch/spin player so the combo of the MMT plus the left dash/CSX LS are an absolute perfect combo for me.

They play/feel firmer than the Catalyst 100 and weigh a touch more.  I found the MMT to launch slightly lower and spin less as well.  Feel is subjective, but both shafts felt very similar with a hint of kick for me.

Thanks for the reply. These may not work out for me like I had hoped. I don’t have a problem loading the 6.0’s but not looking for much stiffer but I am looking for a heavier shaft. SS may help slightly with the 105tx. Probably should have just went with the 105s.

I find the Catalyst 100’s already launch fairly low for me which I like but not sure how I feel about even lower. I think the lower spin with the MMT’s may be the kicker here. A few courses I play don’t have very receptive greens so I find myself having to land short of the pin most of the time.

Once they are in, I’ll get some numbers from both shafts and go from there. Thanks again.

Made the jump and went w/ the 105TX extended by 1".  Replaced PX LZ 6.5's same lengths.

Don't feel like there is any distance difference, definitely hit the MMT's a little higher and with more spin, which I like.  They do seem to have an occasional high right miss that I didn't have before when I don't put a good move on it but that's not really the shaft's fault, just a different miss than I'm used to.  I do have to be a little more patient from the top than with the PX's but that's a good swing thought for me anyway.

Very happy in terms of the hope to reduce elbow/wrist pain.  The tendonitis that started last year definitely isn't fully gone but I'm playing 2 or 3 days in a row without really noticing it or any additional pain.

Probably have another few rounds to be sure enough for my PX set to go up on the BST but as of right now I'm planning for these to stay in the bag for awhile.

(I also replaced my wedges so I went all the way down the bag w/ the MMT)

Looking to make a move into the MMT's in my Ping i59's. I am a long time DG S300 player and practice a lot. I'm in my early 40's and the steel shafts are starting to wear on me a bit, with tenderness in my elbow and general soreness after playing or practicing.

My local CC has a Trackman and I was able to demo the i59 with a KBS TGI 110. My avg. 6 iron SS is 97 mph and I was generating good launch and spin numbers with the KBS. I was not able to demo any of the MMT shafts. However, indoor launch numbers do not always correspond with on course performance for me.

My question is which MMT profile will match best with the S300? I'd like to maybe go a touch stiffer with the MMT's, but won't have an opportunity to demo first.

Don't go stiffer; they're a touch stiffer than steel as is. Go straight into a stiff, but you have a choice. If you like the way that 110 felt, get the 105S. If you prefer the way your steel feel for overall weight, go 125S.

I jacked my elbow, so I play 105TX now, but soft stepped. I'll be getting my i230s with straight stiff, and mixing based on conditions. Based solely on this post, I'd recommend 105S as-is. They will definitely hold up well on shots you go after. But if you overcook the stiffness, you'll regret it.

Lower spin. Yea. Low ?  Not really. I’m a high spin guy. They’re a godsend to me to not have to worry about ripping every pw back 20 feet if we get rain the night before . They stop for me from long iron down.  But definitely less spin than modus 130x. I pulled 8 irons back with them if it was wet.

Echo what karsten said. They’re stiffer than s300 already. TX is a lot of iron shaft.  You aren’t going to feel like S is weak.

Does anyone have a list of OEMs that now stock the 125S/TX as options in their lineup. Have seen TM do, sounds like Callaway do as well.
