@AWcOBB, I know it has been a while since you first mentioned this post.  I am thinking of trying MMT 90 S in a TS4, but am coming from a heavier 115g steel shaft and and was curious what your full experience was?  Appreciate any other insight you have, thanks!

Yes i had to go back to see what i had said as its been a while. I still have my MMT 90 S in a TS4 6i. Love the club, love the feel but ended up going in a different direction although similar in Axiom 105s in my new set. However i would definitely game a set of TS4 with the MMT 90s, because its such a stable shaft(and great iron head), I went from a 110g steel shaft so i think it would be similar although im more in the camp of weight of club matters most, and if you're happy with your 115g Id give some caution going down to 98g. If you would like to message me more about my MMT TS4 6 iron that would be fine.

Are there any profile charts measuring stiffness profiles between DG X100 120, Modus 120x, MMT 105TX and MMT 125TX?

I haven't seen anything comparing them all together.  DGX 120 looks to be very similar to standard weight DGX, except at the butt end.

MMT 125TX is said to be modeled after DGX100.  On Russ Ryden's Golf Shaft Reviews site, he refers to MMT as more of a blueboard profile, but the EI curve doesn't look all *that* different from DGX to my eye (using my bottom tier membership abilities).  The MMT looks to have a stiffer butt section than the DG120.

As for Modus 120X, it's at least a flex softer than DGX, and almost certainly DGX 120 and the two MMT shafts, as well.  The Modus 120 TX is actually pretty close to DGS, except for having that softness in the lower mid/upper tip.

Wishon shaft profile info below.  Sorry, haven't seen any profile data for the DG120.

None of that data for the MMTs?

I'm afraid not, sorry.

This database had gone dormant before the MMT shafts arrived on the scene.  I haven't seen anything from any of our clubmakers who could collect this data, either.

Same with Modus 115, far too new.

To my *hands,* MMT 125TX *feels* like more of a mid-bend 'blue-board' than X100. YMMV.

Just found this thread but haven’t had time to read through it yet. Throwing a hail mary here — has anyone ever compared the 125S vs a soft-stepped 105TX? I was fit into the 125S but prefer the weight of the 105TX (and can handle a little more stiffness). I’m wondering if I should try soft stepping the 105tx, and whether to do it one or two times.

I’m also curious about the mmt scoring wedges. They are slightly heavier and with more feel? Debating if I should try the normal 125S in a wedge or the 105tx in a scoring wedge.

X100 user so tried these out in a 125TX set to start the year out of curiosity and just didn’t jive with them at all unfortunately. Lots of lefts which is no bueno as a fade guy, and the kick felt really pronounced which is very foreign to me in irons. The dampening made it hard to tell what was going on at impact to try and course correct during the round. Over a few rounds had multiple swings I felt were perfectly struck fades, and look up to see the ball curving left. Back to the X100s and none of those issues.

Definitely great in the cold for vibration dampening, but chalking this one up as a failed experiment for me.

Would agree with this. Feel definitely subjective but these felt very different and more active than X100s to me. Blue board profiles love to go left on me too, which was the case here.

Yup. Same with Steelfiber, for me.
BUT.
KBS TGi are VERY different. Linear and FIRM and tight.
I have the 110 (TX) in my 3i, straight in, and it is the best graphite I have tried so far.
Laser straight, hot without being jumpy, very fair.
You get what you put into it. Which is always what I want.
YMMV!

Will look into it. 110g is light though… might give Axiom a try if give the graphite experiment another go.

I play C-Taper 130s and have MMT 125TX and Steelfiber i125cw X in UT. The 110 TGi feels better-balanced and quite a bit stiffer than either (which to me feels heavier). YMMV.

To answer your question, I currently play a set of MMT 125TX soft-stepped in TM P7MB. I also play a set with 125S in TM P7MC/MB, Titleist MMT 125s (oh so soft), Titleist T100 is in 125TX SS twice, (like them all) then I have a set of 105TX SS in TM P7CB.  First had them in a Titleist T100 soft stepped, did not like it at all.  Not sure if it is the weight, but they just don't feel good compared to the 125's.

I am curious maybe soft step the 105TX twice, interesting thought but most likely unload that set and keep the other 4.

Had a set of P7MC with MMT 125TX straight in.  They were just a hair too stiff so sold those to a buddy who loves the set up.

Even tried the stock 105S in one club as a test, that was a huge miss.  Was hoping maybe the lighter shafts might give me a little more club head speed. I not no difference in speed but they just did not feel solid.  Most likely I just could be consistent in the face.

I have hit all of these with steel and all the heads felt great. I moved to the MMT purely on elbow and hand issues.

As for the scoring wedge, I have the TX in 3 sets of wedges.  Jury is still out.  Not sure they will stay or if I will go back to S400 TI.  Since majority I don't take full swings with the wedges, maybe the steel won't bother the hands.

Just my feedback on the MMT.

Thanks! I am planning to do the install this weekend assuming the ferrules come in today like they’re supposed to. I have a set of the 105tx. I also have a 7 iron with the 125s on the way (that I ordered like 1.5 months ago…. Thanks club champ), so that’ll be good for comparing. Maybe I will just do 1-2 clubs for now so I can compare everything before I commit.

I hate seeing my irons overdraw, so seeing these “blueboard” profile comments above are scaring me. I’ve never gotten along with blues. Maybe straight in is the way, or maybe I just won’t like them after all lol. Guess we will see shortly.

If you play a draw I think it will be fine and possibly even really like it. I just play a fade on every shot so seeing it go left as many times as it did just didn’t work for me.

Only way to know is to try them - I know people have said they were built on the X100 profile but I honestly think they’re just their own feel completely and hard to compare. It is an entirely different material after all.

Hey y’all, just wanted to share my experience/feedback with these.

I’m someone with an aggressive transition that really loads the shaft, and thus, was fitted into the project x 6.5 rifles. I loved these shafts but kept getting elbow pain, which then affected my comfort with taking divots/compressing the ball.

I changed to these shafts and the difference is night and day. I’m still getting the same load profile, but I have a better feeling of the club head. I’m more comfortable hitting down/taking divots, which has caused me to gain distance due to better compression.

if you’re using a px 6.5 setup and want something that is nicer on the joints, I’d get these.

EXACTLY my scenario. I'm a down striker divot taker like you. I started getting elbow and joint pain 10 years ago, and went from X100's to the 6.5 Pxi shaft. Still stout, but not quite as stout feeling as the reg Px, and it helped with the pain ...but the pain would still flare up at times. Particularly after hitting a bucket off the mats. I went to the MMT 125tx, and I've never had another flare up. I have limited my hitting off mats like before though. Mats are like hitting off concrete, and a joint killer. What I find odd about the 125tx is it feels rigid, but doesn't swing rigid. If I take an X100 and flex it, it bends. The MMT won't. It feels like a telephone pole. But it somehow kicks just right and feels smooth.

It’s made a huge difference in my game. My miss used to be me topping the ball, and that’s basically gone now.

I agree with your assessment of the shaft. It’s hard  to explain but you’re right, it swings like a graphite shaft but keeps its rigidity and stays smooth. I’m a huge fan of it.

only issue I have is trying to get used to the MMT125TX scoring wedge shaft. I really feel those extra 5 grams when I’m tired lol.
