I suppose i'll open up this thing. We've had a good crew over the years talking about the NBA, though the regulars have really dwindled down. If anyone wants to talk hoops we can do it here.

 

Here is a list of players that if you say something bad about, i will fly to the state in which you live, rent a car, drive it to your house and punch you square in the face

 

1) Pascal Siakam

2) Fred Van Vleet

I guess the very consistent run of greatness had to come to an end at some point for the Warriors. Both LA teams look legit and would be interesting to see them go at it in the conference finals.

I thought Denver and Houston would romp to the top seeds in the West, just due to load management and some depth challenges of the LA teams, who seemed more built for the playoffs

 

But those teams getting off to some creaky starts.

Jeff, do you like the pairing of Westbrook and Harden? I've said it several times but I dont see anyone ever winning a championship with westrbook. I'm starting to get to that point with Harden.

I think it's just really hard to win a title. They are I dont know, maybe the 5th and 13th best player in the league (I didn't do a list, that's just off the top of my head) and have an average supporting cast. So I dont see them winning. The clippers I think are a better overall team on paper, without question

 

I think the rockets are a player short. They need another shooter who can defend. A guy like Harrison barnes who can play the 4, shoot etc...I like PJ tucker but not for 37 minutes a game in the playoffs

 

Westbrook hasn't forced things early in the year and Harden is shooting like crap. I thought they'd be a good bet for the #1 seed. In the playoffs who knows. We've seen too much evidence of them forcing bad shots

Interested to see how the East turns out this year. The west is so stacked it’s impossible to say, but the East seems to be a two horse race between Philly and The Greek freak. I think that Kris Middleton is going to burn the bucks going forward. He is a good player, but got paid way too much. I predict it is a franchise crippling move over the next five years.

The celtics aren't in the running for the East? I think I tend to agree with you, but wouldnt be surprised if the Celtics come out of the East.

I think they need a big guy. If they get one I'm kinda with you in that I would not write them off

 

I know Steven Adams makes a lot of money but he would make sense

The C's have Tacko Fall. Huge remains to be seen what he does but I do like the 7'3" upside.

I just can’t see Boston winning the division, Kemba and Tatum arn’t going to be enough to make it through the East. I don’t honestly have a dark horse in the East either. I am a pacers homer, so maybe just maybe if VO gets back in time everything falls into place we can make a run.

This is the only thread on WRX worth posting on.

 

* LeBron has been MVP caliber, all NBA on both ends of the court.

* Dwight looks like a bigger version of Dennis Rodman.

* AD was worth the trade and then some

* BI is going to be an All Star, it's funny because when he was in LA the outside world gave him little love. Now people will see the gap between him and Simmons is much smaller then most people thought.

* Luka is a lock to be MVP in the next 3 years. He plays like a 12 year vet against rookies, he sees plays three plays before the start. Like Kobe, MJ, CP3 and LeBron all do. The razzmatazz hop skiddly doo is legit.

* Fultz is an awesome story, I hope he burns the Sixers, payback for the tanking.

Brandon Ingram has looked awesome, I'll definitely agree there.

 

The LA teams, it will be so interesting because both gave up so much and have contract questions (AD technically an expiring contract....kawhi and PG are on shorter than expected deals). I wonder if one will win and the other will end up horribly screwed. It feels inevitable that LA is getting titles, but which team. I feel like both are a bad injury away from being in 6 years of purgatory

 

Luka is averaging 26-10-10 lol....hes ridiculous

 

Also hoping Fultz makes something of his career. I called him a "perfect offensive prospect " before the draft!!! Remember that?

I would agree with the clippers and Lakers both bring the cream of the crop in the league. The most interesting team in basketball though has to be the rockets. They have so much firepower and I think could come out with a title if they can get it together. How sweet would a rockets/nets series be when kd comes back?

Hard to see Westbrook building chemistry with Harden given that both are so ball dominant. I've thought that this is a strange pairing since the news broke. Don't see Houston going anywhere.

 

Both LA teams will be there. Interested to see how season plays out for Denver. Luka is very legitimate and also like Booker for Phoenix.

Good start for Canadian folk. The raptors look good again and Pascal Siakam might be a legit 3rd team all NBA or something. At the rate he improves every year, by the time he is 31 he will be averaging 48pts, 18 rebounds and 15 assists a game .

 

 

Some guy in an Andrew Wiggins jersey is averaging almost 25 a game and has a PER of close to 20. Who is this impostor?

Houston looked really good against the clippers tonight. Props to James harden who continues to amaze me with his offense skills. Guy is next level these days

Solid start for Wiggins to the season. Boston has been on a tear so far. I didn’t expect them to be this good this early.

Boston is a really fun team....they have to be the 2nd most fun team behind Toronto. Kind of a similar story in that they are a bit of a "left at the altar" team. Kyrie and Horford left them, people questioned Brad Stevens a bit after last season, Tatum regressed last year etc

 

Now they have mr popular, Kemba Walker (honestly, the rumors out of Charlotte were that everyone loved him, he was buddies with everyone from other players to trainers etc) and the 2 kids who were shopped all season and had their futures decided that they would be trade bait

 

3 dudes averaging 20ppg for the best record in the league. I hope they add another big so they can really contend

Who is going to win the west this year? I think the clippers are the favorite to win the title, but I can see the Lakers winning this year as well.

Lakers look better than I thought they would. But I still think the Clippers are the favorites in a 7 game series where you can scheme etc

 

Their defense once rosters contract for the playoffs should be insane (Leonard, george, Beverley) and I think Leonard has earned best player in the NBA cred at the moment

 

But I am usually wrong LOL

Big question is can Kevin Durant leave Brooklyn before playing a game there? Early reports are that theres only one team on his list of preferred destinations, he just needs to see which city loses in the finals 4-3

what's there to be proud of? Lakers was an 11 points favorite at home against a hapless team that traded away 2 top 10 player in the league, yet STILL couldn't cover. Outside of the clippers, which they lost to btw, who have they actually played that was worthy? let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

LeBron LeBron at 37 is proving he is far and away the best player in the world. He’s killing it on both ends of the floor and playing every game.

If Durant doesn’t get hurt and Kawhi loses that final are you still proclaiming him the best player in the world?

I mean it's all really close. How do you differentiate between Kawhi, Lebron and Durant....they are all amazing.

So you could say any of them.

I just discounted Durant because hes injured, and it's also fun to hate on Durant

And Kawhi won the title last year in Jordan'Ian fashion. I know Lebron has also done that. I guess kawhi just did it more recently.

Would surprise no one if the Lakers won this year
