Korn Ferry Q School Finals

Some interesting names playing this weekend. Most notable is probably Ollie Schniederjans. Maybe even more interesting is that he was supposed to be teeing off at the same time as Tommy Gainey. Pretty sure two gloves will be a scratch. Several other journeymen I recognize from the PGA tour as well as a few who came close last year on the Korn Ferry. Brooks' little brother Chase is in the field. Jamie Sadlowski didn't even get close.

I know most of you don't follow Korn Ferry or the other tours but I love going out to Korn Ferry events.

Two Gloves is playing and playing well. 4 under through 10.

Tons of recognizable names in the field, I'll be following along for sure.

I’m caddying this week for Yi Keun Chang, and the weather was kinda meh today.

Both golf courses are good, scores will depend on how bad the wind gets

Looks like Schniederjans is going to finish outside of the number, he's done and currently T46. Two Gloves had a really bad day yesterday and now looks like he's going to miss also. Couple other names that look to be outside the number include Daniel Summerhays and Chase Koepka.

Why is Schniederjans playing in this? For the prize $ or to keep sharp?

Looks like he was top 125 in 2018, giving him full status last year where he finished 180...doesn't that give him KF status for 2020?

But, how are KF finals going on now, when the new season started a couple of weeks ago, with the wrap around?

The new KF season starts in January. There is no wrap around season for that tour. This was the final stage for kf status

It does give him some KF status however it's not full status. He was probably trying to earn a higher priority/status ranking than what category he will be playing out of in 2020. While this list is from the 2019 KF season this is likely the category he will play out of in 2020.

Ollie finished 180th last year, so has almost no status for PGA tour this (2019-20) year. And since he finished out of the top 40 at KF finals, has almost no status on even the KF tour. Will have to make the most of the starts he gets. His best option to get PGA tour status back is to earn it back via the Korn Ferry finals. He is eligible to play in that.

What does it take to play out of category 7? I see how winning the KF qualifier would move him up to 4, but don't understand why he wouldn't be in 7?

From looking at Ricky Barnes 2019 profile it appears to play out of category 7 as the 2019 priority list shows or now category 9? the player has had to have been exempt for 5 consecutive seasons at some point on the PGA Tour. See below. Ollie has only been exempt for 3 seasons on the PGA Tour.

The PGA Tour website at this time does not have the 2020 KF priority ranking published. It should be up soon as the KF Tour has two events in the Bahamas in January.

He played in the KF tour championship and finished 75th, that took place back in September.
