I do nuke the i500 long irons.  I can always be patient and see what the early spring offerings are and combo something.  I'd the 525 rumors are true...other than S55 never hit a ping iron better than i500. Can't hit range balls with them, but on the course, feel good unless you miss.

Pre-order starts August 24th

Release in stores is September 2nd

$250 per club confirmed via Roger Dunn Golf Shop ($1750 for 4-PW)

No solid info on stock shafts. Hopefully anything you want at that price!

 

Heres some comparison pics of the 7 irons of the i59 and the 2021 T100 fitting heads.

Is the toe extremely blocky or is it just the angle of the pictures?

It’s definitely less rounded than the T100, but I would say in line with the shape of iBlades or Blueprints.

It is. It is very stable. I had never heard of it but got fitted into it with a set of Callaway’s I have. While it’s a good fit for me. I’m not sure I’m convinced low launch/low spin is what I’m shooting for. I prefer a shaft that is good on my “off” days. My normal gamers are c-taper.

Oh yippee… second rate Recoils. Not surprised, just disappointed. They don't even make an X in 780es, and they play soft to begin with. I hope they pair well, but damn.

Well...maybe they will at least have these 3 year old shafts in stock and the delivery date for pre order won't jump to Jan 2022 1 minute after launch.. 😆

I think UST makes ping’s tour wood and hybrid shaft. Makes sense they would do recoils as a stock option. 
 

The recoil is a solid performer on the srixon utility. Always hit that club well.

Some of the recoil shafts are excellent, if a bit spinny. These particular 780es are not for the level of player that generally is after clubs like these. They're an OEM hi-volume option from UST.

 

Imagine they had offered one of the others like MMT, or the KBS option, or anything that's one of those "plays like steel" shafts… we'd all be going crazy right now.

 

I know it's a cost thing, and I'm sure they have a good reason for all of this, but it's likely now $335/iron to get something like an i59 with MMT shaft and MCC+4 grip.

 

I can pay that, but not everyone is going to go crazy for that. And frankly, I'm probably going to play by blueprints for a good long time now that this is the case. If these guys are remarkable, might get a 5 & 6 iron, but frankly, would rather get that in i210.

 

I imagine these are going to be excellent heads, but Ping isn't a component dealer.

It's the weight.....2fifty a club & you get 84g and like it or nothing else

Hit the i59 today at PGA SS along with the new Titleist T100. The i59 feel incredible and great acoustic but same Modus 120 shafts and the i59 spin 500-750 rpm more each and every swing. Great looking and feel though.

Project X LZ still an option, or upcharge? That might be the difference maker between these and T100 for me (already at $250 a club with i59)

Does ping also offer a "power spec" set for this one? Hope they come up with something similar to t100s otherwise. BTW, if recoil is the stock, 95(f3-f4)/110 (f5) should be a better fit...

Great point. I never tried the Recoil with smackie wrapie or whatever they call it. I still prefer x100s, but I’d like to try the recoil Darts or MMT in a heavy option.
 

I’m going to hit the i59 this fall, but the new mizunos this fall are calling my name.

Looks like Veerman won with them in the bag at the Czech Masters. 4-PW and the new Glide Forged Pro. Good start.

Hit them today at Roger Dunns. Here are my observations:

• Most full-forged feeling Ping iron i have hit
• Forgiveness is closer to the T100 than the T200 if that makes sense. Less forgiving than both i210 and iBlade for me.
• Forgiveness is pretty low on low/bottom groove strikes when compared to i.e. the Callaway Apex Pro
• Numbers for me where almost identical to the Apex Pro 21. Averages are based of 20 balls each.
  • Ballspeed: i59: 114.9 avg Apex Pro: 114.7 avg
  • Launch: i59: 20.9* avg Apex Pro: 20.9^
  • Spin: i59: 5458 avg Apex Pro: 5576 avg
  • Decent: i59: 49.1* Apex Pro: 47.7*
