On a similar theme the main reason the Titleist T 2021 series was released earlier than expected was principally down to Titleist selling out of the old models...this is an industry wide problem but Ping in particular have been hit badly

Yep could be real bad. Definitely already feeling it on the retail side.

Being overseas has reset my expectations anymore.

 

I'm just going to let these things get seeded throughout the world a while, enjoy my blueprints for longer now that I'm putting MMTs in them, and maybe when I see the shaft offerings, we'll go from there.

 

I'm just not going to be rushed with this. You guys can beta test for me. There's no way I'd see these until January anyhow, so I'm not getting hyped.

Right Ok , I have sat back and read all the thread for a while... I need a spec sheet to come out now. Just so I can see the uncharge price for steelfibers. 

 

Was away from ping for years.(Since S55) But some how Ping has taken over my bag again I wouldn't say a Fanboy. But I do like a good looking iron 😅

It might be a case of getting my fitter to order the heads and them do the work. More trust for swingweighting  the steelfibers 😅

If these spin the same as my I blades it will be power spec all the way for me to hit my window.

I put MMT 125TX's in my Blueprints last year. You won't be disappointed.

For non standard shafts, Ping shafts both the iron and the customer.  They will get almost anything you want, but it can be eye watering.

I am tempted to get a 3 iron at 20 degrees to use with my blueprints. Currently I have 790UDI but this does look much better and made to go with the blueprints!!!!

 

Problem is I do love my original 790 UDI.

Love what I'm seeing in the 5 iron. I may replace my Blueprint 4&5 irons with the i59 as well as replace my P770 3 iron with an i59 3 iron.

Would power spec increase offset even more?  Do they just bend them to power spec?

I'm trying to understand the spin characteristics of these...a welded hollow iron with the same loft as their forged iron. This iron will have higher ball speeds and yet not delofted to account for the extra height and less spin that  hollow irons usually produce. Maybe that's why there are more grooves? Maybe I'm over thinking it....

I really like the look of these and the blueprint as a combo 😍, I can possibly see the reason that the Pros don't have the long irons in bag with the offset of the 5 iron though.

 

My i200 / I Blade combo may just get unseated when these come out.

Depending on whether Ping actually bends their power spec or they produce them at those lofts, maybe you could buy the power spec and bend them weak to fit your needs and reduce the offset.

I am not so sure they will have to have higher ball speed. Aluminum insert makes them seem more solid than hollow, actually. Sounds to me like the construction is more for perimeter weighting in a smaller package. Heavy steal on the outside, lighter aluminum on the inside. Kind of like the Mizuno MMC where it is a solid iron, but lighter material is in the middle for feel and perimeter weighting. The marketing on PING's japanese website does not mention anything about faster balls speeds.

If its an I-Blade replacement I really hope there isn't higher ballspeed, the last thing I need is my 7 iron jumping an extra 10 yards the odd time.

My i200/ I blade combo is power spec and they heads have just been bent. To be honest the offset really doesn't bother me. But I can see how it might bother some.

I'm trying to think of a iron with a thin steel face welded on a forged body that didn't advertise more ball speed. You could be right. Since it looks like a retro spec is available, maybe they are not higher launching. However, the blueprints offer only 1 deg weaker on their retro loft, so not sure...

Yes, power spec would increase offset.  Adding loft would decrease offset

I hit the 7i as stated...I did notice some offset- but it framed the ball so damn perfect

If you do i500s in the longer irons and i59 in the mid to short irons, the progression could still be pretty seamless
