New Tiger Woods Launch Monitor

I have heard a rumor that there is a new launch monitor coming to market around Masters time. It’s backed by Tiger Woods and is made by Full Swing golf. It’s supposed to be a game changer for the market. Does anyone else have further info?

Full Swing just announced a deal with the PGA TOUR to license the TPC courses such as Sawgrass and Scottsdale for use in the simulators. Haven't heard anything else about a new monitor.

Haven't heard anything about this. I will say I know Tiger endorses full swing, but as far as I'm aware most pros that have an in house full swing simulator stick a Trackman in it and just use that..

Two different setups. 40k for full home simulator, 4K for just the launch monitor

I put down $100 deposit as well. I'm building a house right now and I have a room that is 18 x 14 for the simulator. Was going to do GC2, but if this is just as accurate and has good software, it will get the nod.

You use it on the range before and he already knows his yardages so this doesn't prove anything. Obviously he has a huge financial incentive to do so.

Quite a few PGA Tour players are using a launch monitor before rounds.

Right but my point is tiger has a vested interest in this succeeding so just because he uses it on the range doesn’t mean he thinks it as good as TM or FS, just like him having a monster logo on his bad doesn’t mean he’s chugging energy drinks.

But this is something VERY different than an energy drink. He's used launch monitors on the range before, quite a few times. If he just has it out there, and doesn't look at it, then maybe. If he looks it it once, he's using it and it's not just for show.

If we see other tour pros using them, sure. To me, Tiger using a product publicly that he is the face of doesn't move the needle to me. It's probably not going to be terrible so if it's 5% worse than TM but Tiger makes millions of dollars using it on the range from sales I think he will probably take that. They will probably sell like crazy if he breaks it out on the tour range and make flightscopes backorders pale in comparison.

Does anyone have a list of data points? I didn't see anything on the pre-buy page, other than "15 data points"

It’s kind of like Tiger endorsing Cadillac. No sentient human being would believe Caddy was a better car because of his endorsement. 
A launch monitor is either accurately reading or it’s not, there doesn’t seem to be anything particularly novel (size, screen etc) that would make this “better”.

I would whole-heartedly agree with you, EXCEPT, if this thing provides TM level data at a quarter of the investment, that’s a bit of a game changer. From the advertisements, that level of data is being strongly suggested. For most of us here, that’s enough to roll the dice with $100 to get in line and see what the final product looks like.

Although they are not talked about much now, I thought there were mid range Flightscope options (X2?) that are near this Tiger monitor price point?

They promise 15 data points and these are the ones shown in demo videos on their site. I asked in an email and was told more info later this winter/early spring but that the demo video was “indicative” of what to expect.

I literally just ordered a Mevo+.(6-8week delivery time)  It’s half the price of this one but Mevo+ doesn’t have any club data. 

I am very interested to see how this performs. 
biggest thing for me in the Mevo+ purchase was the capability to be a simulator and see shots when I practice in my garage.

If this provides even 90% accuracy of the TM at this cost... its going to be huge for places. Imagine smaller ranges being able to rent out a bay that has one of these machines. Allows more people access to their numbers and that can never be a bad thing. I cant wait to see what it does.
