I have read a few places that they are going to add it to the FSK app. If you are using E6 indoors it does have short shot mode. I have had it miss 3 or 4 chips over the last week, but you can add loft and hit a little more speed. I don't think it is perfect, but it isn't too bad. It is hard for me to visualize short shots indoors, but I have definitely noticed my chipping has improved.

I never was aware of the option until last night. My daughter told me she had been playing courses and I was like "what about chipping" and she said she was chipping fine.

That option automatically turns on for me when inside 40 ish yards. Works fairly well.

How are the spin numbers? I've watched some videos and it seemed the spin numbers were way off on wedges.

I find the spin numbers to be accurate at least outdoors. I have not had a chance to hit in indoors yet

Early on they were wonky but have tightened up significantly. When indoors use a RCT ball from Titleist and it’ll perform even better.

Firmware version 1.18? That's the version on mine and the last firmware update listed on the website... I can weather normalize but it says ball normalization is coming soon? Guess I'll have to poke around a bit

Yes you are correct weather normalization is out but not ball normalization which to me is more important. The range at my club does not always have the best range balls.

At this moment with 1.18, in the app selector, the only ball normalization is the selection of either RCT or premium ball. Being able to choose a detailed ball / brand / restricted range, etc. was mentioned to be some thing that is expected to show up in a future update. (But no date was presented when I reached out to their support team a few months ago. My inquiry at that time was in regards to RCT as we were entering winter and our use of the FSK was moving indoors). Hope this info helps, but obviously doesn't fix your use case.

I have reached out to Ryan, their Snr Director of Marketing and he's going to get them to update their website Release Notes. They are busy with the US Open at the moment so may be next week or the next, I am guessing

 

I have the 1.20 (12) installed. I don't see any changes in the Normalization for the Ball nor the Temperature. The only option for the Ball normalization is either Premium or RCT when you put Sessions as indoor or Net.

I see some disconnection but I think it may be the distance between my iPad and KIT. I also have an issue where I do not get video but I get the numbers only, I think it's related to the disconnection

Had a session today. no disconnects with newest firmware. Didn’t miss a shot. Downside is my country club uses limited flight range balls and the data Im getting off the KIT is semi-useless to me without range ball normalization. Hoping there’s an update for that soon.

Yowzers, those balls are bad. Better off hitting into a net with the RCT balls.

How risky is it to look at purchasing a used Full Swing KIT. I see multiple units on eBay in the $2500-4000 range with highly reviewed sellers claiming minimal use. This would be my first launch monitor and it is the one I want, I just dont know how risky saving $1.5K will be. Are warranties still valid etc?

KIT is solidly built, much more than GC3/BLP. What's exposed like the USB-C ports are well protected with a robber/plastic covering. Check the pictures to make sure no external damage like in corners... just the usual due diligence

 

The firmware is updated all the time

Latest one is 1.20 (12) so check that's installed. Otherwise all you need to do is allow KIT to upgrade.

 

Warranty is 12 months, no extended warranty AFAIK. Check the purchase date to see what warranty is left.

 

If it was me, I would buy it used especially for that price

 

You may want to consider $100 premium membership for the unlimited video storage & other benefits over Basic. Imo that's pretty cheap.

 

E6 Sim is addional to that as well but it ain't too expensive

 

I think subscription wise, Full Swing is more affordable compared to others

Damn...this is my first time seeing this LM and now I am stuck between this and the Uneekor Eye Mini (I previously had the original SkyTrak). The only thing leaning me towards the Eye Mini is the video impact clip. Decisions...decisions!

To throw more confusion 4 u, KIT video records your full swing automatically in 1080p as it reads your shot

I’m more into using it in my garage with my hitting net and occasionally bringing it to the course for Par 3s. There’s a guy locally selling a used one for around $3,700. If I can get him down to $3,000…I should snag it eh?

Anyone hear of an update re: normalization that would account for limited flight balls?  I've been told "it's coming" for well over a year by the team at @FullSwingSimulators

Has anyone else had connectivity issues recently?  My first couple trips with it worked great but the last couple the app kept freezing and/or disconnecting and then I couldn't change the club for the FSK.

I only use iPad to connect to KIT as I have no iPhone but here's my experience...

 

I've had issues where the video would not record (everything else works) but that was on my iPad Air 2 (not on the compatible list).

 

Everything else worked and I rarely lost connection though. Now I am using a 9th Gen iPad and the same issue is occurring there - but I think I get around it by restarting my iPad before I connect to KIT the first time. I don't know if it's the app or the iOS but leaving it on with my home wifi, it does not properly connect to KIT afterwards, at least not the video part. I checked all the settings and everything looks perfect and is a GO but the video portion is never recorded. Or it may be sporadic if it does or doesn't... sigh

 

We had a situation where my buddy's  1 year old iPad Pro who has the app & account. He had many connection issues like yours. But as soon as we had him restart this iPad, everything was working perfectly with KIT and we never saw another disconnection issue.

 

So, if you are using an iPad, try restarting the iPad before a session

I have the FSK,  BLP, and Mevo+ to see for myself which I preferred. I primarily use my LMs outside on a range, rarely inside. Here's the pro/cons for me:

 

FSK

Pros: Quickest setup by far, integrated camera, app is actually good, no sub needed, on-screen display.

Cons: Camera angle kinda sucks, hence the recommended 12ft placement. Unit overheats easily in the Carolina heat during summer (90+ degree days). Cloud doesn't store video, just session data. I also had some video issues but it might be related to overheating. Normalization is not that great and range ball normalization is TBD. I'd also like a flight path display like Foresight Pro & Mevo+ apps have. It has dispersion, but I'd like the full ball flight.

 

BLP

Pros: No question it felt the most accurate, I never doubted the reads. Indoor it was the easiest to use and setup. Foresight software runs well. Club data was also very accurate and helpful. 0 issues running in the heat.

Cons: My biggest complaint is FSX Pro app. It's definitely not as intuitive as FSK's app. Paid subscription for sim software, which isn't cheap. On an outdoor range, having to move the unit after 5-6 shots is also a pain because you have to re-align.

 

Mevo+

Pros: Smallest unit, super easy to just hook on my bag and take wherever.  People complain about the setup but I didn't think it was that bad. It was by far the cheapest unit and seemed pretty accurate. The app wasn't terrible either, when it worked. The Pro+ package is a cool addon to have for club data, but at a price.

Cons: I really wanted to like the Mevo+ the most just because of its size, but man this thing had some connection issues. The unit displays an orange light to show it's "armed" and ready for a shot, similar to the light on the BLP, but so many times it would just never arm and therefore never read shots. I tried resetting, trying different phones, etc. Maybe my unit was defective, but I remember when I tested the regular Mevo I had similar issues. There's some serious firmware issues I suspect. The app is supposed to pair with an iPhone as well to get video data from the iPhone, but that didn't work either or when it did it was incredibly choppy. Additionally, the battery life is pretty pathetic.

 

Overall, I'm selling the BLP and Mevo+ and sticking with the FSK. From a learning perspective, the camera is really great (even if it's a bad angle) and the reads are pretty accurate. If I used my sim more I probably would've stuck with BLP, but for outdoors I think the FSK is only beat by Trackman.

Based on my experiences with FSK & also not recording videos - I may suggest you restart (power off & on) your iPad or iPhone, before you first connect to FSK

 

I use a 9th Gen iPad & this restart step ensures I get video

PS Good call, I returned the GC3 to my buddy, its his anyway. While it was good, hated the dots & FSK delivers more easy to read data especially without dots or needing app.
