LM"s are going to be getting MUCH MUCH less expensive over the next 5 years.  We will have $400-$500 range devices that are small, accurate, and measure most of what you need including spin, launch, ect...  Not there quite yet but we are right on the edge of it.  Trackman without a camera based system is losing tons of ground each year so they will need to evolve a bit.

Update email received this morning. The pertinent line is " We will be communicating more details about subscription plans and course packages as we get closer to launch."

There's the other side of the cost, as to be expected. Not much to the video included until the 22 sec mark where it ever so briefly shows club data on the player's iphone. That's what most important to me with this. I guess we're getting close.

Yep, I saw it. Unit is supposed to be placed 10 feet behind the ball and have 10 feet of flight. It's going to have E6 connectivity

That was the deal breaker for me. I don’t have +20 feet of indoor space for it. Guess I’ll stick with SkyTrak.

Where did you see that? Ram appears to have it fairly close.

Yup, Same here. I'd likely use it outside with a net but that's still a lot of room. Makes building a "golf room" in a new house more of a challenge--- as if finding 10' ceilings isn't enough!

Thanks, I didn’t get the email. So the same requirements as a Trackman. Did people expect it to be accurate without having proper distances to read ball flight? Mevo+ which likely isn’t as accurate as this one requires just 4ft less of total distance. Ideally it would need less space but that’s just not realistic.

Totally get it, and agree but when you're paying double the price for a machine the expectations go up. Trackman and this bad boy are made for the outdoor grass ranges (imo). They def function indoors, but it's a flawed parameter for the function to truly compare. I just wish a GC Quad wasn't so darn expensive., or that they'd come out with a Skytrak2.

10ft also kinda sucks for range use as I’d need to keep an extra close eye on it since that would put it right in the middle of the walk way at my range.

Agreed. Maybe that's just suggested or ideal? Either way, that's a dangerous proposition for anyone that is prone to the shanks

How fast and accurate is this thing?

 

Is it a Mevo+ with club data for double the cost? Or is it a Trackman for 1/5th the cost?

Agreed. For me, the indoor use case is SkyTrak. Mevo+ must have 8ft behind and 8 in front, ideally they suggest 13ft of ball flight for accuracy. I just don't have that sort of room… 

 

But I don't want to buy a SkyTrak because I *know* I'll get screwed on SkyTrak2 the next day...

My issue is primarily ceiling height. 6'3' with long arms here. Drivers are dangerous in my hands! I'm likely going to build a cage outside. I wonder how hard it would be to grow fairway grass in patches to put a strip🤔

 

That's all it takes? Please go buy one then so I can get the 2 😄

I run into the same issue. 6’4 here...

 

When looking for a new house in the next couple years though, I am making SURE that I can retrofit at least a corner of the basement with at WORST a recess allowing me to get a full driver swing in easily.

I live in Philly, and often times, to get additional ceiling height, you can dig out part of your basement to go deeper. That's what I'm hoping to be able to do. Either that, or find one of these old homes with 5-6 bedrooms (we have four now) and the 10' ceilings already in there. 🙂

That's literally what I've been looking at. Digging out a couple feet in the basement and underpinning. Was thinking of doing it generally, but it would be super convenient for a sim.

I love the way this unit looks.  I have been waiting to order a Mevo+ (buying a new house first) and am excited to see more competition in the sub $5000 LM category.

so how is this unit getting claims for 'most accurate LM' ?  is this using Camera and radar?
