I ordered a custom Odyssey 10S last week, arrived from Mexico in like 3 business days. Ordered a pair of Adidas 360 XT from Budget Golf Thursday, scheduled to be delivered Tuesday from Chicago. I ordered a custom set of Vokey raw SM8 3/18, I have no idea when I will see those and I am not expecting them anytime soon. California seems to be mostly shut down currently.

 

So far in my experience it’s been all over the place, probably based on a lot of factors. But, the company’s location (and what restrictions are in place locally for them) seems to be impacting fulfillment the most. My suggestion to anyone would be to order as you normally would, expect delays, and be pleasantly surprised when an item shows up in a timely manner. And, this is not the time to order something online and follow the tracking like you’re stalking an ex. Just be patient and know that there’s a good chance that what you’re ordering may take significantly longer to arrive than you are used to. Uncertainty is the new normal until this is over.

Where/when did you order you Vokeys? My friend is a local club pro, and upon inquiring with Titleist about ordering a new set of irons on my behalf, was told they are not taking new orders at this time?

I ordered 3/18 direct from Vokey. My order has shown as "being processed" since. I received an email the day after I placed the order that Vokey was stopping production until after the stay at home order in California, but the order would be filled as soon as the order is lifted. I think my order was placed on the last day they were accepting orders, and my card was debited two days later. So I'm in a holding pattern until business resumes out in Cali. Which is fine, my current wedges still have some life in them.

Thanks for the info! Looks like I'm in a holding pattern until May or June right now, but with courses closed here in MI, I'm almost glad I can't place the order yet. It would be torture to be unable to play or hit a new set right now, especially with the weather starting to turn.

The courses up there are closed? That sucks. Here in Ohio, there's been some creative solutions to the social distancing aspect and we've been allowed to play at most public courses, though municipal/ city owned courses won't open until next week (at least near me). They've halved the number of tee times, so every ~15 minutes or so instead of 8-10. Keep a one hole cushion between groups. One person per cart, and some courses are encouraging walking with special rates (one local course was walking only as of last weekend). Cups are either upside down with a flag or raised with no flag (course today had a flag center of the green on the back apron, just something to shoot at or hit with a rangefinder, and a cup raised about 3"-4" - hit the cup and you're in the hole), flags aren't supposed to come out. It's a little odd, but getting out for a round on the weekends is keeping me sane. Hopefully we'll all be out playing normal rounds soon.

Golf isn’t life essential, says Michigan governor, who orders courses to remain closedI've had friends travel to Toledo to play over the last two weeks. Half of the cars in the lot had MI plates.

I played in Toledo last week. I think it was called Riverby. Played with two friends 2 walking 1 cart. Played the front 9 in 90 minutes, the back nine not so fast. I have a feeling the state of Ohio is going to be Michigan’s #1 golf destination this year. I have a longer adventure planned for next week. I’ll update you on Wednesday.

Also, Cobra is shipping and building stock and custom orders. I have a MIM 60 on the way. The technology is to cool not to try.

I know, I know, I know. Get fitted. Well I tried at CC here and their indoor facility with Trackman doesn't pick up well at my ball speed, so they were useless because it picked up 1/4 of my swings. We put the metallic on the balls to try and help as well and still no good. GolfTec(which is outside) at one location here in the Atlanta area, but has limited shafts that worked even remotely for me. They had a ton of stiff and regular shafts, but were limited on X flex.

Luckily this site, time with a fitter that has since retired(who was considered one of the best in the US by many) and when I went to the Kingdom out in Georgia I knew what worked great for me in the M5 and M6. I know it isn't apples to apples, but I have numerous shafts that fit me at home(that worked with the M5 and M6, and the smoke green worked well with the Cobra so I know my favored profile. Taking a flier on the SIM, and I have four adapters here I can put on some of these other shafts I have if the Smoke Green doesn't work out.
