Mack Made Putter Review

Well I got the text. “Design time”. Felt like I got the phone call from coach that I was drafted lol. Here are a few shots of my long neck tribute currently in the works. Choosing to go with a torched gold finish like Rory’s new putter. Blacked out on shaft and grip.

Finished product, just in time for the season to start! Can’t say enough good things about Josey!

Was able to get my Slide out on the course today. In honor of next week, couldn’t pass up a photo op with the azaleas!

That is beautiful. Great design and simple extras but very unique. Love that neck. Enjoy.

This looks great and meaty.  I love that the cavity back recess is not deep. This should produce a very solid feel.  Congrats!

What are the specs and toe hang you asked for? Just curious.

Can you post a closeup pic of the face dots so I can get a better look at the logo in the heel? It kind of looks like a Mack Made version of Ween’s Boognish. Really liking the look of that logo.

I am at work but will post a pic at address tonight. All the standard stuff is perfect (L/L/L) as well as the weight. I asked for 25-30 degrees of toe hang.

It is possible he has picked up some new skills? That shaft can only go into socket necks and I wanted a slant neck. Sent the below pic and asked for it to be as long as needed for 25-30 degrees of toe hang

Can post a closeup tonight. It’s a crown though and not hair. The pictures just don’t capture the amount of detail it has

Take a look at the picture of my putter on Page 14, that's the logo I have in the cavity.

For those who have gone with a Timascus or Copper cavity insert do you feel it changed the acoustics or feel in any way.  I’m considering going with this feature on my upcoming build but don’t want the putter to feel less solid or feel too tingly.  Going with a smooth face on this one and hoping to create the feel I got from my sold Piretti GOAT.

Anybody do a Piretti Matera or Mills Fleetwood shape by Josey yet?  Got about a month to go and not sure if I want to go mid mallet or another blade.  I have a Jewel and thinking of going with a tribute (np2) or a matera/Fleetwood shape.

That's basically my plan since no one makes those in lefty. Still waiting for that text.

I had a feeling that was the direction you were going.  Look forward to seeing the finished product.  I think you are 3-4 weeks ahead of me in the queue. Hope you get your text here shortly.

It's not going to be a direct copy, I want the Fleetwood to be an influence/inspiration, but Josey said it's possible to alter his Maple shape a bit to possibly get where I want, but I just want a bit of a change from the usual Anser/Anser 2 shape.

 

Now if we cannot land on something I like I'll have to find a another shape to build.

 

Also I'm at 11 weeks right now so should be soon unless Josey is behind but that's fine if he is, I have putters and have something else coming I bought on a whim. Honestly the only reason I want to be soon is I keep spending money lol.

I’m only at 8 weeks. I’ve sold off a bunch of putters and am starting to build my collection again.  The Maple head shape is really nice and I also like the shape of the masters themed putter he just auctioned off (Scottie Scheffler inspired).

Also received the go time text today.  Josey has been super responsive and accommodating.  He has provided good insight and suggestions as well.  Quick turnarounds on changes and sharing the design.  

 

From a block at 1:30 CST to the start of the face, sole and cavity milling.  Super exciting.
