Mack Made Putter Review

Just stumbled upon this thread, and couldn't resist giving my endorsement. I saw his work early on via Instagram and as a lefty, knew I had to have one. At the time lefties were kind of his thing. After struggling to find a wide blade flow neck, I had to do it. What a great experience. I still message him on Instagram and as busy as I am sure he's gotten since, messages me back right away. I was a putter hoe and scared of the commitment, so my only regret is not getting more customization because this one will be mine forever. Pics of my boo below. DO NOT hesitate to grab one.

Really like this one. Almost did a similar build but decided to go with a different design. Yours turned out great. What is the toe hang?

It is face balanced and even just a bit beyond... It will hang at 3 but is light enough to float around 2-2:30 if that makes sense...

Looking for some feedback from those of you with MM anser style putters. What face milling did you go with and how would you compare feel, sound, balance, overall performance to Scotty’s anser style blades?

I have a carbon steel Jewel (Picture is back on page 3) with a smooth face. Feel is similar to my old Newport Classic, but more crisp feeling. Good strikes feel so pure, and you are well aware of mishits. Front to back, mine is slightly deeper than the standard Anser/Newport shape, but this is definitely not a bad thing as it inspires more confidence over each putt. The putter is great and I will definitely be going back to the well for another. I'm just torn between another Jewel or a new shape.

I’m new to this thread but really interested in this guys work. Of those who have built a custom putter recently, can you give me an idea of cost?  Obviously it will be all dependent on intricacy of design etc. just trying to avoid any potential sticker shock before I reach out to Josey.

Very dependent on what all you want done, but overall very reasonable. I have had 2 made. Much less than many other custom builds. Let me also add that top notch service and communication is second to none! If you reach out to him and don’t hear back immediately it is probably because you messaged him at 2 in the morning or on a Sunday… otherwise he doesn’t know how to not respond!!!

Head weight is 360 I believe and it is face balanced or 3 o’clock hang. It is actually a bit toe up and can “float” to about 2:30. I put an MMT shaft in it which makes the head feel considerably lighter.

Red Rocks is probably my absolute favorite place to watch a concert.  The last one my wife and I saw was Brit Floyd in June 2019.  Was planning on seeing them again the summer of 2020 but that didn't happen.  My first concert was at Red Rocks the summer of 1983 (I had just graduated from High School so I was a late bloomer).  It was the Beach Boys.  My first concert should have been the month prior, also at Red Rocks.  One of my buddies asked me if I wanted to go to a concert in early June because his girlfriend didn't want to go and sit outside in the cold, rainy weather.  I didn't really know the group, maybe a song or so.  I passed because I was a pansy and didn't want to sit in the cold, rainy weather.  In hindsight, as Roberto DeVicenzo said, "What a stupid I am."  Yes, I turned down U2 at Red Rocks.  UGH!!!!  This is definitely my concert do over if I could rewind time.

Sadly, I am getting such great results from one of the ugliest putters on the planet (my LAB DF 2.1) that I don't think I can go back to the best looking putters on the planet.

 

So, I will admire them from this thread.  Really sweet gear here, keep 'em coming.

Won't be my usual Anser or Anser 2 shape so....surprise for now. I have to visualize it a bit more and some changes could be made to the shape.

Same here he's going to make something cool for sure. I'm not 100% sure on a few things but I'll make it so I can send it back to Josey if I change my mind.
