Anyone compare New Level to Maltby TS1 iron?

I like the look of any of the New Level irons, not sure on the difference between the PD or OS. I get that the 623 CB is weaker lofted.

Wondering on size difference between either model New Level and the TS1. Also, performance. I wonder if the construction of the TS1 lowers spin like other irons with the hollow construction. I hear the New Level’s spin well.

Cant address the spin question.   I have built 6 iron in TS1 and 7 Irons in NL PD and OS... so its not exactly apples to apples,  and this is based on my eyeballs....the OS blade length is longer than the PD and the TS1, and although it is on the large size, I don't find it off-putting at all.  The TS1 6iron is very close to blade length on PD 7iron.  The OS blade height is tallest of all three and the PD is in the middle; TS1 has lowest profile.   I tested all these although not extensively and the downside for me is they are all pretty low bounce and although the NL do have a beveled leading edge; I found the turf interaction to be a bit 'diggy' for my AofA and grainy bermuda grass we have here in Texas .  Other than that I'd say they are all pretty nice... If I had to choose, at this point I'd probably go combo OS/PD.   May give em another try this winter.       FWIW I'm 65 - ~5 index ... ApexCF16s are still in the bag at this point --always looking.

Thanks for this.

I’m 60, around a 5 index myself, and have 2 sets of irons. Titleist 714 AP1 and Mizuno MP4. Looking for something in between. Starting to lean towards the 902 PD…

Love my 902PDs and might remove the paint too.  Looking to replace my DG105s with Graphite Dart shafts but I was wondering if anyone knows or have insights on 2023 plans for New Level.  The current batch have been on sale for a little while now which indicates to me inventory reduction before introduction of new versions.  I would love to see a 902PD in Black PVD finish 🙂

For NLs next offerings, I hope they go back to the simpler fonts used for engraving the model number and "forged". I feel the current fonts are out-dated and detracts from the strong visual appeal of the clubhead. The fonts used in the 1031 was modern, elegant and well-matched. I think if they went back to this, some people won't resort to removing the paint-fill.

Well 25% off and some supportive words from my lady lead me to buying the rest of the 902os heads I need to complete the set. Pretty nice discount all in all.

PD or OS and why?  Is launch and spin similar?

The answer I’m looking for.  I want the most forgiving good looking iron to me.  I bought the OS demo hoping for that.  There is little offset with a slightly bigger blade.  Hoping for good things.  May end up going to PD tho.

Finally got the demo 902Os. It definitely is smaller than I had imagined which is a good thing.  Hope to hit it tomorrow.  Looks good.

I posted comparison pics of the 623-CB to the TS-1 here -

For me, the TS-1 was about a half club longer

FWIW my 7 Iron in the 623CB is at 160.

The arrow in the gray bar should take you to the pics.

Would you say the 902 OS has a shorter blade length than your 921 Forged irons? Sole width narrower? Thanks

I will take a pic in the morning. My 921 are still in my travel bag.   Playing tomorrow, so I’ll shoot some comparisons in the morning.

I will say this.  The OS aren’t nearly as big as I thought and the top line is way thinner as is the sole.  All good things as long as they are still forgiving.

based off my impression without seeing the 921 in hand I feel top line is thinner on 902, sole is thinner on 902 and bald length is slightly longer on 902.  Will show you tomorrow

I saw those pictures earlier today. I have been through every post on GolfWRX today. Still can’t make up my mind. 😂

I actually have a combo set of Mb and CB heads in my cart New Levels website. I might just go all 623 CB’s. They look great, they have more loft, which I need the spin.
Are you still playIng them?

Ive used the 902 OS since the start of last season. Theyre almost perfect imo, playing out here in colorado the turf is usually pretty firm, and with a shallower AoA in my swing i rarely have issues digging too much. Feel is very soft, minimal offset, looks are clean. They truly feel like just an oversized blade, and with that comes the extra forgiveness as well which is nice for a ~8-10 hdcp. Definitely not a game improvement club, but also not intimidating at all.

My friend has the 921s and they are very similar in feel and performance, 902 OS might have a slightly longer blade length, thinner sole, and different head shape if i remember correctly, but still great looks.

I still have them but am not playing them at the moment. I got a demo of the gi22 last month and after using that for a bit, got a set of gi22's with recoils.

I was going to do the 902-OS, but after looking at pics of all the models, I didn't think there would be enough forgiveness in the OS vs CB, as the sizes are so similar so I went extreme. They don't look that bad either, which is a bonus.
