Am I the only one who thinks the 480’s look better? I also still think the original Srixon z545,745,945 series are the best looking irons… ever 🤩

I think they both look good but I’d give the edge to the 702s. But not a decider for me because I would play either and both look great in the bag. The 480 is one of the best deals going right now.

I also think for what I like in an iron’s playability the design of the new ones fit me better. New Level touting the 702CB as their most forgiving players iron yet is appealing. If it’s a step up in forgiveness from the 480TC that’s hard to resist.

On the z745, I agree. I don’t think Srixon has ever surpassed it!

Personally, I didn’t like the 408 TC look as much as the MC. I was a big fan of the MC. And I think the new CB and MB look fantastic. But I always liked that look similar to the s55. So I’m a bit biased.

You are going to be my reference for the 702s vs BPS. Looking forward to hearing. BPS is an itch I've been trying not to scratch. Always have wished for a little more bounce from New Level. I would weaken the 702s and finally get a little more but 1 degree is probably not profound. I'm wondering if the 702+ is smaller that the DB, the CB is smaller than the TC and the blade is actually bigger than the 480MB. Or maybe that's wishful thinking.

Is New Level losing their mind right now?  $24.75 for shipping on 1 iron head!!  I am pretty sure it was like significantly cheaper before, I wanna say like $14, maybe even less??  To charge that amount for shipping when the iron head itself is only $72 is a bit ridiculous.  That is adding 1/3 of the total cost for the item to the final price.

After sending a message to New Level about the shipping costs they were kind enough to respond to me within like 30 min (something I have never experienced from other golfing companies as they tend to take a much longer time).  Shipping costs are "dynamic" and set by the shipping company.  In this case UPS.  With it being the holidays and a very busy time of year for these companies they have adjusted their pricing.  Hence the increase.  It was told it should revert back to normal rates after the holiday season.  I was also told that economy shipping rate of $10 is offered for any order over $75.  With my order being less I saw the standard shipping rates.
They then also advised that they adjusted their economy rate to orders $70 and over and I just needed to refresh my browser, and I would get the cheaper shipping rate.  This is the level of customer service that wins over customers and makes them lifetime customers.  Not only are their products excellent and affordably priced their customer service is top notch.  Just can't say enough good things about all my experiences I have had with them.  Kudos to you New Level!!

That was an emotional roller coaster.  Haha

Probably should have emailed them before the small post griping about shipping costs..😁
But it all ends well with a quick response from them, a nice explanation, and a move that wins a customer over by getting them the cheaper shipping rate during an extremely busy time of year for logistic companies such as UPS.

I can't say enough about how good their irons have been for me. Took a second to find the right shafts but they are as good or better than anything on the market right now in every category.

I’ll give a full report. The “effective bounce” in play can be a little higher on irons with softened leading edges like the 702CB has, because that softened edge also will prevent digging. So it is like having more bounce. Sole width is another factor. The Blueprints’ soles are thin and there is no grind on the leading edge, but they have a little more bounce.

I’ll just have to play the 702s and see. The bounce is similar to a lot of Mizuno irons. Conditions on courses in the Mid-Atlantic are often soft to very soft, so it will be a good test. On past NL irons I’ve had I thought the soles played similar to TaylorMade’s soles on their players CBs.

As for size, hard to tell from photos, but it does appear the 702MB looks a little larger than the 480MC. But someone else has to order the MBs and post a review as I only have CBs coming!

Does the slot in the CBs exist in the 8, 9, and PW? I’m debating between all CBs and 8-PW MBs for a combo set. Is there really much of a difference with this much loft (8-PW)?

My opinion is it cannot make that much difference. Generally, I can play almost anything in 8-P. A lot of times for me that has been an MB because I like them. I went with all CBs on this set but I may pick up a few MB short irons down the road.

If you are used to playing MBs, I would not hesitate to get the combo you like. These MBs look great. I came close to going 9-W in the MB. You can also reach out to NL on the slot question, but I don’t think it matters either way.

So I decided to demo both the 480 tc and dbs, and OMG I am so impressed with these clubs. I am pretty cerain I am going to buy a full set.

I want to go with the TC set, but my only concern is the degrees on the 4 iron. With My current set i have a 22 degree 4 iron and a 20 degree 3 hybrid at the top of my set. I am worried about having these New Levels end at 24 degrees. Has anyone else had an issue like this? How do you all handle gapping at the top of your set?

Have you considered bending them strong? I did to solve my gapping problem.

@Ajgaguy83 - yeah I was thinking of bending the 4 iron down 2, and the 5 down 1, but that seemingly puts the 4 iron at negative bounce, which scares me a bit? Seems like that is taking away any forgiveness on anything but perfectly pure strike no?

Did you bend the 4 iron strong and do you notice any issues? I’ll ask NL customer service their thoughts as well… but would love your thoughts as well.

I did the same, but to the 5 (down/strong 2) and 6 (down/strong 1).

I wasn’t concerned, but I think it would depend on your swing (are you more shallow or steep, what are your misses?).  Truthfully, a little more dig and these soles are a big part of why I wanted to move to these irons, but your needs may differ.

You could also always bend back if it was an issue.

I switched to TC from P7TW for extra forgiveness and distance. I did not like the size of 480-MC, so I could not mix it with TC. This time, I picked up 8-PW 702 MB yesterday. The MB is definitely longer than the MC! I guaranteed that the tungsten plug is a key. I went to the range this morning. It was 53 degrees, and I was amazed that MB is so much better at dispersion this time. I'm glad it allows me to see if I should try 5-7 CB with 8-PW. I’ll go back to NL for the fitting session to confirm! 😉

Buy TC/DB if you struggle with slice or avoid fade bias. I’ll miss my TC set but looking forward to new season with 702 series. Keep up the good work, New Level Golf!

Love it! When you get a chance, post some pics of those MBs! Those are what I’m currently looking at and would love to see them. Glad you’re enjoying them. I personally loved the MCs but they def were tiny lol

PW 702 MB with the Sunset ferrule

PW 480-TC with Black ferrule

I haven't seen the CB myself. The only big difference between the TC and MB is the hosel. I'm not sure if the CB will have the same.

Nice! I don’t love their hosel transition on their TC. The MC/MB look much better to me. Thanks for the pics!
