I love how the 702 8-PW MB, 5-7 CB, and 50* SPN-SS blend. They are “precision-crafted tools” that continually push me to the next level with every shot! With 480-TC, 2024 was the best year in 30 years for playing golf tournaments. I'm excited for 2025 with the 702s.

Those look great. I like that the MB is sleek, but the blade length is the same as the CB. It looks very playable.

Long overdue on this. The heads arrived while I was out of town and then life happened. But here are the heads. I went with 702 CB 5-PW with a 24* NLU-01 to see how it aligns with gapping. I'm hoping to get them built over the weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time!

The iron held up is the 8 iron. Also, it appears the slot is in all the irons. A lot of sets will have that until you get to the 8 iron down. Pretty interesting to see. Also, I'bent this to my specs already, and man...they are sooooo easy to bend.

So clean and beautiful. I think the slots on these is about moving a little weight to the perimeter to slightly boost moi and also to dial in the cg (along with the tungsten.) Still a lot of steel behind the sweet spot. New Level says the geometry of each iron’s cavity changes from long irons to the short irons. Can you tell?

The original 902 has a slot. I enjoyed that iron. But this is across the board a better lineup for players who still enjoy forged irons but don’t want to punish themselves. The 702CB has a better head shape, less offset, better sole and it’s a winner on looks. I really like the toe that is sharp but not too sharp and the club looks great at address. It is more forgiving. The CB+ looks great. I don’t have the MB — yet! Can’t comment too much on turf interaction beyond a few rounds outdoors as we’ve now got snow on the ground so it’s sim sessions only. Better than nothing but it’s not like a real golf course. Look forward to seeing yours built and what you think.

Got them all built. Pretty proud how they came out. The QC on these heads is pretty great. I asked the NL team to target D3 with the components I was using and they were bang on. The build was a breeze and the BB&F ferrules require very little turning down to sit flush. I'm hoping to spend some time today on the R50 and compare the 8 & 9 irons against my current T150s. It's 8* outside and I can only hit 8 iron max in my basement so it'll have to do for now. I've attached some photos of the components used. I game a 4 hybrid so I'll be interested to see which ends up on the 5 iron spot (24* NLU-01 or 702 CB). More to come.

Outstanding. Those look so good in the bag. I may find a simulator today. Tired of the cold weather.

I’ve been rocking the “Boilermaker” ferrules for a long time. They’re for my Missouri Tigers but they work for a lot of teams! 😂

Saw this on instagram last night. I even commented on it and said “is that a new utility iron I see😯” and New Level Golf liked my comment. So it seems like they have a new utility iron on the way! If so, it looks pretty sweet.

Something is a foot with a new NLU utility.  New Levels website is only showing 24 & 27* NLU's options for purchase now.  That black NLU update in that IG post looks sick and that adjustable weight for head weight adjustments is gonna make it a nice to blend with the 480's.

Did you get them bent strong or your wedges bent weak? Looks like only a 3* gap from P to 48 if standard.

Was able to get a small session in last night. I have the 702 CBs bent 1* strong to match lofts with the T150s (40* 9 iron). The numbers were pretty much identical. The offset however, is not. I'll get them on my club gauge to show those that are interested, but the 8-PW will take some time getting used to it.

But it's hard to argue with the performance when you see numbers like these.

I guess a good deal of the additional offset is secondary to having them bent a degree strong...Low 6s seems a bit low spin to me...

Yup they do have some offset and their hosel/neck is sometimes a bit weird. But they are excellent and tough to say anything negative about them.

And wow that utility iron is looking awesome! I personally love the screws on the back. Always been a fan of the PXG backplates. So I enjoy the new level irons a lot now. Their 480MC were some of my favorites.

For an easy comparison, the offset on the 702CB tracks very closely to the Srixon Zx7 MKii. The New Level has a little less offset in the 5-9 and in the P it has marginally more, (0.67” in the Srixon, 0.74” in the NL). I’ve looked at them side by side and they’re very close.

Those are the specs. As @toastinato says, I think it is more that the hosel to top line transition can look a little squiggly. I see that on a lot of irons. On the launch monitor, however, I am squaring up the 702 better than I do the Blueprint S (which I just sold.) No idea why but I am. That is helping my consistency. The New Level heads may weigh slightly more. I’m happy with how they swing.

The spin reads low for both the 702 and the T150. Off mats spin can be a little off. @mikeberlin can tell us if that is the case. i have less than 36 holes played outdoors with mine and stopping power was excellent but the greens were soaked.

Those are indeed nice numbers. Impressive launch and shot height at 80 mph club speed. The ball speed is excellent, as fast off the 1020 forged head as the multi-material Titleist. That’s what I’m seeing. Carry distances are very solid.

The 702+ demo I ordered was just delivered yesterday. My goodness it looks nice. Much better than my ZX5s.

I'm getting fit for new irons in mid-February, and while I was leaning towards Srixon and Cobra because I can get nice discounts on them through the course I work at, I would definitely be willing to pay full price if the 702s perform as well as they look.

My question is: what kind of handicap can play the 702 CBs? My original plan was going combo set of ZX5s and ZX7s, and now I'm thinking of trying the same with the 702+ and CBs, but if the CBs are even smaller, I might just look at a full set of the + heads.

I'm a 5 handicap that has been trending upwards due to having a toddler, and I want to make things as easy on myself as possible on the rare occasions that I get to play this season.

I have 480 TCs 5-PW which are the previous generation of the CBs. As a 5 you could easily play the CBs I would believe. My 480 TCs are very similar in size to the ZX7.

I have the NLU in 21/24 with both bent a degree weak.  i'm not sure I want to replace them at this point as I really love them.  It looks like they haven't changed them much but more or less added the weight, which makes a lot of sense to me.  Some are commenting on the offset.  I think the offset is manageable and i'm pretty picky about it.  I've hit the ping utility for instance and that thing had way too much offset for me visually.  I wouldn't consider bending strong personally as I think they already go very far and the flight is closer to an iron than a hybrid.

You won’t go wrong either way. IMO a 10 or 12 handicap can play the CB if they’re a reasonably decent ball striker with the irons. That’s what I like about the 702 lineup. They’re comfortably sized. I feel like these are sized like Srixons with Mizuno bounce on a TaylorMade sole that is more like Bridgestone width with New Level’s signature softened leading edge.

I have a combo set and there’s not a major size difference. The + does seem to launch slightly higher, but again, the differences are small. I also soft-stepped the shaft in my two longest irons.  I only have the 5-6 in the plus, and I hit them well. The tungsten helps. They’re stable and lively. I could easily be happy with a full set.

I would say if you like the size of the plus, why not get a full set. If you want something slightly sleeker in the scoring irons, the plus combo with the CB is seamless.

First things first. Hit your new CB+ demo. See how you like the feel and performance.

Haha sadly no review as I haven’t gotten to hit my demo 7 iron yet. But if pictures are needed lmk! Only other irons I have to compare it to are Wilson staff CBs and p760s.

Did the 702s make you sell your BPS?

Yes sir. The Pings are great clubs but for my needs I feel the 702s are a better fit. The performance of the 702CBs is every bit as good, the blade length is just right, they’re a notch more forgiving and the feel is pure. I’m a big fan of the New Level leading edge. And in the longer irons I would say the forgiveness difference between the 702CB+ and BPS 5 iron is even more noticeable.
