TENSEI AV Raw?

Got email confirmation today from MCA the X and S do NOT contain any Boron. Hence the difference in price point.

This very well could be because of the stiffness in the handle, not the tip, because you’re not able to load the shaft because of the stiffness in the upper third.

I used to think the same thing with the Pro Blue TX, and actually hit the white considerably better because of the slightly softer handle.

Interesting and good to know, I'll be interested to see how I get along with the Pro White TX, I'm definitely used to a relatively softer butt section and stiffer tip.

Had a Ventus Black 6x not long ago and really wanted to love the shaft, but for me it felt too difficult to properly load and my launch angle was significantly lower than just about anything else I've tried. I'm hoping the Pro White doesn't feel as handle stiff as the Ventus Black.

The AV Raw series is utter nonsense. I get that the TX flexes are the "real deal", but the website doesn't state what added materials are in the shaft to qualify the higher price point? Is there a boron tip? MR70 carbon fiber? Who knows. What about the bend profile on the TX? Doesn't say. On top of it the non-TX flexes are apparently just a rehash of the standard Tensei CK line. Graphite design and Fujikura do a great job to make sure you understand how their products relate to each other. Shaft profile guides, launch and spin charts, etc. Mitsubishi just says good luck!

Tensei Pro line was great. The Diamana line continues to be their flagship. This AV Raw line is just frustrating.

Agree 100%. Mitsubishi’s shaft lineup has become so convoluted that I find myself just avoiding their shafts now. It’s too bad because obviously they have produced top quality shafts for years. Agree on Tensei Pro line being great, but then people got confused with the regular CK lineup, then av blue, and now av raw.

looking forward to performance comparisons of the CK Pro White TX to the AV Raw White TX!

Love the CK Pro White 70-TX in my 3 wood, it’s been fantastic. Curious how the AV Raw White TX would compare

This also lead to me switching over to Fujikura. I'm playing better golf than I have in a decade. My Driver and Fairway wood are weapons again.......The Overall feel of the Evo IV with the SIM MAX has just produced an easily repeatable driver swing. The old Motore 7.3TS tipped 1" might be the best fairway wood shaft I have ever hit off both the Deck & Tee & it cost me about 30 dollars..

I swear those old Motores are probably the best bang for the buck shaft out there when you find a good deal. I especially like the Speeder Evo graphic ones like the DJ shaft we've talked about. I have a 7.2 TS that i'm looking forward to testing in the driver at some point.

I so wish MCA would have made a Tensei White 80 stiff shaft. The TX is just plain too much for me. I hated the CK and with the AV Raw seaming to follow suit perhaps I look at another OEM.

The CK Pro and the AV Raw feel completely different. The AV Raw is SO MUCH smoother than the CK pro.

We would recommend testing both the AV Raw White, and AV Raw Orange in 65TX.

If you get a chance, let us know how the testing goes!

Is there a difference between the original AV series and the new AV Raw other than graphics? If so, what are the differences?

Thanks in advance

I believe they covered this in the 11/6 IG live video. AV Raw Blue in the non-tx flexes is the same as the 2019 AV Blue with exception of cosmetics. The TX flexes existed on tour with the all black butt section.

Playing the Orange  in the driver and testing the white in the fairway wood this offseason, great shafts in the TX flexes, can't really comment on the non TX flexes other than I know they don't have the same materials

Why the white in fairway since you're orange in driver? I see this a lot or see white in driver and blue in fairway.

Just trying something a little lighter. My main gamer is the CK Pro Orange 90TX. Need just a little higher launch which the AV White profile with a slightly stiffer handle and a little less tipping should accomplish. Just not sure I’ll like the weight as I’ve always played 95g + shafts in my 3 wood.

I see that titleist is offering av raw blue in 65 or 75 tx with no upcharge in TSi2 or TSi3 3 woods.  Am I missing something or is this the real deal??  Seems like a great deal.  I guess I could check the butt diameter as TX is larger than X, .641 for TX vs .60 for X.

I'm getting this in a TSi2 3 wood.  SS with 3 wood is currently 107, bit should increase to 110.  I do struggle hitting it low.  I would think 79 gram vs 69 gram would be better in 3 wood.  Thoughts?

That'd be huge if they did, but I highly doubt it. The only way you're getting a premium offered at no upcharge is if it's a few years old. See the Rougue 125msi in Wilson drivers...

Also looking for some more comments. I've read they are slightly higher launching and easier to load across the board. This would seem to fit as most reviewers have commented on how they are smoother than the CK line. The added 5 grams in each class shouldn't really play a factor but might slow swing speed a touch. Really, I just wan't my Pro Orange 60TX to be slightly easier to load and slightly higher launch, with the same dispersion. That would be an absolute winner.

Find the driver shaft pretty much the same as the CK Pro model to me, the biggest difference like I have said before id the butt diameter is closer to .600 rather than .620 like the CK kevlar weave parts so grip size is a little easier. profile wise not really much different.

Cant wait to test out the White 85TX but that could be a while now with the snow that we have up here.

I have a Matore Speeder VC 6.2 Tour Spec in my 917D3 8.5*.  I haven't gone to the TS line yet, but I am looking hard at the new TSi3 8* driver.  I see that in the non-upcharge versions available for shafts, the Tensei AV Raw White 60 is available for a Low Launch/Low Spin shaft.  Has anyone hit this shaft?  Can anyone give any details on how much "low spin" it is and/or "low launch"?

I have a Fujikura Pro 2.0 Tour Spec 6 in my TaylorMade Sim 8* head.  I like this combo and it works.  I would be interested in anyone knowing how this new Tensei AV Raw White 60 compares to that Fuji Pro 2.0 Tour Spec.

I am a high launch/moderate spin person when I've been on a launch monitor.  Always looking to keep my launch in a 12-14* window, but keep my spin numbers down.

If you purchase from pgatoursuperstore.com you can order tour stiff for non upcharge.   I ordered the blue 75 in tsi2 3 wood.   Im hoping its the real deal, but don't know how it could be as that av raw shaft in tour stiff runs 350. UPDATE - i tried to do it just now and tour stiff no longer an option in driver, but option is available in 3 wood.  Not sure if never was an option or no longer offering.   I haven't received mine so I might not get it anyway.

You could always have titleist tip it .5 it if you're looking to lower launch and spin.  Standard is no tipping for driver.

I got fitted for this shaft in the 55 stiff by the Titleist fitters for the TSi2.  Great performance improvement over my 60 TS2.  Picked up about 10 yards of carry and about 500  less  spin

Did they tell you how long the order would take?  I've been waiting almost 3 weeks with no update
