Stock VS Proto or....

Do you use the stock shaft or go with something a little heavier or light weight steel?

Making some considerations for next year.

Got the stocker in it for now. May go to a heavier graphite one later.

... there are many variables in deciding which shaft to install in a hybrid. in general, i have found the VS proto to be ideal in this head. when i did a review of the VS Proto in my driver/fairway wood/hybrid, i said the hybrid shaft may be the best of the bunch. for many, if you are looking for more distance and accuracy, the stock VS Proto Hybrid 80 is the perfect shaft. however quick hitters, or those looking to replace their long irons with the same distance and accuracy, should upgrade to the VS Proto Hybrid 95. at 1.4* of torque it is even tighter than a steel shaft while maintaining it's smooth graphite feel. the strongest hitters may want the additional weight of their iron shafts. ie: if they use dgx100's in their irons, they should use the same shaft and length in their idea pro hybrids.

Thanks for the response.

I'm looking at potentially adding the #3 or #4 as a replacement for my 3i and I have Rifle 5.5s in my irons and Gw and a 5.5 Spinner in the LW.

I have a Grafalloy Epic 75 in my 23* Model.

It's a little lighter than the stock VS.

There was nothing wrong with that shaft, I have it in my 3 wood actually, but I had the Epic in my 19* before I got the Adams so I just went with the same shaft for it.

The VS Proto 80 seems to play a bit soft in these. I had 3 of them and they all CPM'd soft. Go up a flex if in doubt.

Just got some tour issue idea pros with X-con Altus. Also going to be putting together some Peanuts with 904HB's. I'm liking the heavier graphite in these. Steel I think would provide too boring a trajectory for my swing and the flight I want to see.

i don't care for the stock vs proto 85 so i went to the vs proto 95 in my 18* and 20* and that was a big improvemnt. my 22* has a fuji 904hb and this is by far the best hybrid shaft i've ever hit.

I'm trying out the club with the stock VS proto 80 shaft and my first impression was that it felt too light and whippy. I wanted to change out the weight screw to something heavier but can't seem to find the wrench nor the weights anywhere. The stock swing weight is at a D2 I believe and that's way too light for me since all my clubs are at a minimum D3. Another option I'm thinking about is putting in a DG S300.

I just scored a V2 Hybrid 100-S from the classifieds. Very nice weight and good balance.

I have the VS proto 80 s in mine right now but am thinking about going up to a 95 x

I'm using a DG SLS300 in mine and the results have been EXCELLENT. That stock VS 80S shaft sux bad IMHO. I can hit my 16* as far as the avg. guy hit his driver!
