What’s your favourite wedge for bunkers?

Just curious to know what you use most often, obviously conditions dictate to a degree too.

I’ve been using a 54* CBX2 which I loved for bunkers, but didn’t like for much else, have replaced it with an SM8 54 D, which only arrived this afternoon. I may also look at a 58* with the specific intention of it primarily being my go-to bunker club.

I have 2 Callaway 19 PM grind wedges (54 and 58 degree). They are both great from the sand. Essentially, if I am somewhat short sided I will use the 58, and in all other scenarios I've been more consistent with the 54. The PM grind is by far the most consistent I have ever found for hitting out of the bunker with a 58 degree though and it could probably be used in more scenarios if I wasn't already used to using the 54 for them.

Depends completely on the type of "sand". I put sand in quotes because over here on Oahu, the vast majority of courses don't have sand in the bunkers, but loose dirt, so I have to use my lowest bounce with heel grind. It is really weird to not have sand in bunkers on an island. It is illegal to take sand from the beaches, and I guess they have nowhere else to get it. The military courses have good sand, though. Private Jones to Colonel Smith, "Sir, we have some extra room on the cargo plane headed to you at Hickam Field in Honolulu. Should we put a couple extra tanks in there or something?" Colonel Smith: "Let's put some sand in there instead; the bunkers are getting a little spotty at my course."

Sand and lie dependent for me.

For most shots I'll use my 54* high bounce wedge. If I am really short sided and/or have firm wet sand I'll use my 58* lower bounce one.

Mostly my SM7 54.12F, bent one degree weak. I will use a 58-degree instead if I'm short-sided or if the sand is really hard packed after a rain or something.

Primary sand club is MD3 54*/12 wide sole. Also works for turf shots up to full swing. Local sand tends to be heavy, so I have to make sure I skim ball off top.

If bunker has steep bank, or pin is right in my face, I'll go with a 58*/8 C-grind to maximize quick up.

Do you find any difference in soft and wet/hard sand? I’m thinking of looking at a 58 M to add to my 54 D, hopefully covering both bases with the D for when it’s dry and the M for when it’s wet and compact or there isn’t much sand in the bunker (which happens a lot at my club).

The best I have found is the Ping Eye 2 L Wedge. Slight second is the Ping Glide 3.0 Eye 2 60* which is pretty much the same club

Picked up PM grind 60/12 and it has renewed my bunker game and short game in general.

I had a 2.0 56* ES which was excellent from bunkers, but a bit meh on everything else unfortunately, so I sold it.

My weapon of choice for greenside bunkers is my 64/10 Callaway PM Grind wedge. It's fantastic.

Ping Glide 2.0 Stealth 56* ES

Used to play the non-Stealth 54* 2.0 ES out of the sand. The ES is just really good out of the sand versus other wedges I have tried

My Magic Wand for Bunkers (greenside, as that's all we have around me) is the 60/10 Taylormade Hi Toe wedge. Its literally automatic for me out of bunkers. I used to freak out about hitting bunker shots until this club came to me. Now, when in bunkers I have zero fear & know what gonna happen.

On any "standard" sand shot my Mizuno T20 56° is so good. Just has the perfect bounce to get them out to the hole with ease.

For bunkers with less or little sand or wet/hard packed I go with the Cobra 60° versatile wedge

CBX2 54* generally but my RTX4 60* for harder lies.

58 almost always unless it’s a longer bunker shot, then 54. Will open the face on the 58 and really spin it on short sided shots - open to the point of where it is literally flat to the sand. I’ve learned to love the bunkers!

Use my pm grind 60/10 for any greenside bunker shots, go to the 54/12 when I'm further out or have room on the green for it to release. But for greenside bunkers I know I can open up the 60, make a full swing take some sand and throw it pin high and have it check up. I go in the bunker with the mentality that I want the sandy, I want no more than a 6 footer left, so confidence helps me and no decel thru impact.

Focusing on green side, sand bunkers, the Ping Glide 3.0 Eye 60 wins easily for me. As more of a general purpose lob wedge, I prefer a Vokey 58 K grind.
