hogan-like swing heel shots

i wish i could post a video but my camcorder itsn't the best. you will just have to take my word that my swing is similar to hogans in swing plane and i am a similar height and weight. i play to a 2 handicap.

in a swing like hogans what would be the cause of heel shots, especially with longer clubs like the driver 3 wood and long irons?

my misses on the other hand with short irons are closer to the toe.

your best guesses, would this be a setup problem or something to do with rotating through impact?

Because of the inconsistency (toe AND heel) it has to be an "arm synchronization" problem........and/or a set up issue too........with video I could tell you quiet easily.......without a bit of a guessing game.........but, ANYtime I hear of a GOOD player striking shots all over the face it's almost always caused by the arms being out of position/"out of synch"......... Where's the divot point? pushes/blocks/hooks/shanks???

my divot's bottom out well in front of the bottom most the time, and the divot is off to the left a bit.

let me say ive mostly eliminated the toe shots, just thats when i miss short irons thats where it is missed. the heel shots are the biggest problem.

i don't miss with big hooks anymore, my misses are usually just starting the cut too far to the right and then when it cuts it misses right a bit.

thinking about it myself i don't feel i am setting up closed enough with the longer clubs which may be causing it.

Ok long clubs you could be too close too it may be only like a quarter or a half inch back up just a little


Short irons could be too far from but I suggest you are just trying to hit them to far

i was re-reading some of your old posts slicefixer, and i came across you explaining some better players getting the feeling of their left arm pulling in.

i think subconsiously towards impact my left arm wants to separate from my body to help my hands pull the butt of the club down and left, does this make sense? and could this help explain the heel shots?
