A Constant wgt shaft is actually a "compromise" between descending and ascending wgt
To make a constant wgt shaft, we need variable wall thickness, just like we do on ascending wgt, so its really not much of a difference in production, but design.

One "issue" with AMT is the flex progression (steeper than constant wgt) who gives very "soft" long irons the way TT has designed it.

Im a big fan of the Ascending weight concept, but personally i think DG took it a bit far with 3 grams steps or 6 grams pr inch, because that makes a very large jump in total wgt club to club.

I really think a AMT design with 1 - 2 grams would have fit a wider range of players, so those options with "only" 1 gram progression aint bad at all since it tighten up the flex slope and make the set feel like we are used to as flex progression.

Here is standard DG vs AMT for the #5 iron, and DG has the steepest flex slope on the marked (DG X100), so the AMT model becomes even steeper and very soft in the long end.

Be aware of that 9.5 CPM at butt is the natural progression for a SET UNCUT SHAFTS (#5 to #6) so dont get fooled and think we are seeing a full flex softer when R300 to R300 AMT is 9 CPM, thats more like SS1 for R300, but its about SS2 for S300 and X100 between DG 130 and AMT with the same flex label for the #5 iron

This illustrate it better, but again, we CANT compare the numbers directly now either
Example we see a difference from DG X100 #3 to AMT X100 of 2 CPM, but actual is 8, since BEAM is 1.0 inch longer for a #3 vs a #5, so the real numbers is
AMT X100  #5 = 355 CPM at butt uncut
DG X100 #3 = 357 +6 = 363 or about 8 CPM stronger, STILL 1.0 inch longer, only adjusted for head wgt vs Beam, so real life AMT is about SS2 for the #5 and close to SS4 as #3 iron...i will have to calculate them all like the standard to get a "apple to apple"

Those who like the DG feel and but wants AMT with a bit less weight progression and higher launching long irons, can make a set based on standard Dynamic Gold X100 or S series.
We need some weight sorting to get the right slope, and a change from 4/8" to 3/8" between clubs.

For X100 average wgt difference shaft to shaft becomes 0.9 grams. Flex slope becomes steeper but not as steep as the OG AMT, and "average flex is X100 SS1 to make a flighted set up shaft to shaft like Monaco Tour Prototype was.



For S-Flex we can get a Ascending wgt slope of 10.5 grams (average 1.5 grams iron to iron)
from 3 to PW by mixing S200-S300 and S400, plus "stepping" and tip trim like the X100 above.
