Taylor Made Shaft Adapter Help

WRX’ers,

I’m in the middle of a shaft experiment, and I recently traded for a few shafts that had TM adapters.  I currently play a M6, and the shafts and adapters in the pics below are from one of the trades and my OEM shaft that was in the M6.  For reference the black shaft and adapter in the bottom of the pics is the OEM M6 shaft and adapter.  What model TM adapter is the one above it from/for.  It only adjusts 1.5*’s instead of 2*’s like my stock M6, and has TP on the adapter.  Help?

Looks like the type that was used in the RBZ stage 2 and maybe the Jetspeed as well.   Nothing to worry about though, it will still work fine in any of the newer heads.

 

TM went from +/- 1.5 to the +/- 2* adapters with the R15 release.   And the TP only means it's an adapter for the .335 tip shaft (as opposed to a .350 tip shaft).

Typically the 'tour' use 1.5 degree adapters and so did the retail products until the 2 degree versions were introduced into retail heads a few years ago.

 

Same fit, same functionality other than minuscule loft/lie changes.

Is there a list of what clubs use .335 and what uses .350?

That is the hosel diameter of the sleeve to the shaft.  A .350 Sleeved adapter would fit into any TM driver head, but the actual shaft itself would have a .350 tip.

 

OEM's used to use a lot .350 tipped shafts in drivers 10 years back, now pretty much EVERYONE has gone to the more use .335 tipped shafts.  When you buy a new aftermarket shaft or just about any "Tour" level shaft it is nearly a 100% guarantee that that shaft will be a .335 tip in 2020.

To a search for the SLDR adjustment guide.  That was the last stock 1.5* tip.  Another option would be the RBZ stage 2.

 

But the short answer is that each notch is 1/2* of loft and lie.
