I live in STL and asked for a round at the course for Christmas. I cannot wait to check it out.

So far the course looks pretty but boring. Extremely wide and open with plain bunker shaping and huge greens.

Played this course, well I played the first 14 holes, back in July. Only 14 holes were open, but the course was in great shape. I played single and was behind a 4-some, so I played the back and took my time. 

 

@Lark, the TV is not doing it justice. It is very wide open, much like I picture Augusta National being, but there is a ton of elevation changes that do not come across on the TV screen. Greens are large, but each green has has distinct sections and if you are in the wrong part of the green, you hope to get it close or its a bogey. 

 

The second hole is a perfect example. It's a 270 yard par 3, with at least 100ft of drop. Third is a very drivable par 4 that is only 25-30 yards longer. TV made these holes look very different than they really are.

 

Very fun to play.

Did Gary Player just go on a tree rant and chastise Tiger for cutting down the trees on this course?

 

Player went full nuts comparing the number of trees being removed to that of the Amazon being deforested. 

 

I'm wondering if he is has researched this topic much before going full crazy on that rant.

I didn't hear that part but was laughing at him.   No one has traveled more than me.  If I lived in America I would have won more majors.  Looked like Jack was cracking up when Gary sings the same old song. Here's the replay.  I tuned out after "farmer".  The question asked was Is it more rewarding to win majors or design golf courses?

Azinger makes it almost unwatchable. Such a homer. I thought commentators were supposed to be somewhat neutral. I realize this is a little different but he’s just brutal. I
want to listen to the players or I’d turn off the volume.

I don't know if it's just me, and not to step on Paynes legacy, but damn... Aaron looks more like ... a young Phil Mickelson than a young Payne Stewart. Anyone else see it?
