Anyone still liking this shaft? I was able to test the rdx red at my local shop and liked it but a little high for my liking.

Trying the 60 gram/6.0 pvd in my Wilson dynapower carbon head 8.0* loft

can’t wait to see how it plays.
the Rex red works good in the dynapower fairway and hybrid but felt it was too whippy in my driver.

update first round in the books today. Struggled with my driving for over a year now, first tee skied it was not feeling confident 💀. Second hole hit a bomb 320 with roll out best I’ve ever on this hole. Really impressed with this shaft and how it played with the carbon head. Was really point and shoot my best driving day in years. Long straight penetrating. Really happy with this the shaft. I will say it makes it a lot harder to now hit my driver off deck, feel the way the shaft loads makes it harder to pick clean. Did manage to hit a nice one off deck at the end of the day just messing around. 😢. I’ll survive, back to the 3 wood and no razzle dazzle dod for a while till I’m used to the new shaft. Very happy with this shaft and what I’ve seen just today.

There's something about this shaft that I really get along with.  Two years ago, I tried out a driver at the range that had this shaft and my swing speed was 5 mph faster with it than my gamer.  The clubhead wasn't a good fit though so I didn't keep it.  Fast forward to this year and I hesitantly bought the 75g 6.5 flex version that I didn't think I had business using, because it came with the clubhead that I wanted and looked sweet (the USA version).  This shaft delivers my most consistent strikes ever and my driving distance has increased 10 yards this year.  For reference, I use a 43.75 driver and swing it 105-108, and I think the heavier 75g shaft is great for me at that length.

Switched from Ventus Blue TR 6x to the 60tx RDX blue. Amazing what a shaft change can do. Profiles are totally different. I couldn't find the center of the face for the life of me with the Ventus. Everything just off on toe side. When I did manage center strikes, it would look like it wanted to turn over and then just sail right. Carrying it 260 max. Couldn't feel the shaft at all.

Switched to the RDX because I happened to try one in a 6.0 and started to feel my swing again. It was really whippy in mid section but was getting centered strikes that traveled on desired line. Bought the TX version because it was super inexpensive. Can barely feel the mid section in the TX compared to 6.0 but it was all that's needed to gain 20 straight yards and put me back into a better head space off the tee. Really started to unload on this shaft during a weekly pro am back nine. It held very well under pressure and I found parts of the fairway I haven't seen since the start of COVID.

This profile is nothing like the ventus tr blue or og blue. The TR frequency in the butt was 264 while the RDX TX was 274. But it's the easiest swinging 274 I've ever experienced.

If I have to say why I get along with this shaft is that I tend to really torque the shaft in transition and rely on the midsection to find a sense of where the shaft is in space on the way down. Funny enough I get along with the opposite profile as well. Soft stiff soft such as the og graf blue. I lose the sense of where the shaft is in space with the Ventus. I'm guessing because the butt is too soft against the rest of the shaft. Can't find the sense of the midsection to resist against at all.

Which this leads me into completely losing my irons. They all but disappeared into the dark. No sense of where the shaft is in space and no resistance against the midsection can be felt. Fat or hold off pulls. DG X100s. I'm guessing due to butt being softer and swinging a butt stiff driver at full, I lose all timing elements in irons. Thinking about experimenting with PX 6.5.

I guess for now I'll just see if some time is needed to adjust.

I can see how being on with one and off with the other can be an issue with these mid section soft profiles as another poster noted.

What iron shafts are out there that have a stiff soft stiff profile? I can't think of or find any in my research. And I'm thinking there's a reason why this specific profile just doesn't work well at all in the irons due to steeper negative AOAs. Maybe just a more linear profile throughout such as the PX line might be the best option.

The only other thing I can think of is to get the torque rating down with the 70tx as it drops to 2.9 instead of 3.3 in the 60tx. This would allow for a closer gap with the x100s and might close the gap so to speak. Finding this theory iffy though.

Funny thing is I would not describe Ventus Blue TR and RDX Blue as super different profiles. The RDX Blue in TX may be a flex stiffer though. Both are stiff in the handle and tip with some bend in the middle. Regardless, you seem to prefer something with a stiff handle section in driver and you don't seem to like the softer handle feel of DG. I would focus on that rather than the soft midsection. I would first have you try PX and PX LZ in your irons. Both have stiff handles and will give you a stable feeling in transition. The soft mid of LZ will feel very different feeling when loading the shaft. You either like it or you don't. If you like PX, test it against KBS Tour. If you like LZ, test it against Modus 120.

I hit the PX 7.0 on range today and it felt great. Then played with my DGx100 and even though I hit 18 greens I was having trouble going from RDX to x100. Next to try is the LZ.

I definitely don't feel the mid section in the Ventus like I do in the RDX. I was hitting some bombs today that I couldn't get out of the Ventus no matter how well I swing. The butt section is too soft compared to the rest of shaft. Curious to see the EI curve profiles side by side.

If I can get the feel the same through out the bag I feel like I could have a really good rest of the Winter season.

I've experimented with multiple shafts over the last few years but keep coming back to the RDX Blue. With this shaft, it's just easy to get the timing right - maybe the softer midsection just helps the timing with driver. I also had similar results with the TR Blue 6X, which was nowhere near as good for me as the RDX Blue. I also preferred the TR Red over the TR Blue.

For reference, my swing speed is over 115 mph with a somewhat smooth transition. I’ve noticed that I tend to do well with shafts that have a stiff handle, even when the rest of the profile varies. I play PX 6.5 in my irons, and the transition to them feels very natural, even though PX 6.5 profile is linear while the RDX Blue has a softer midsection. I think the shared stiff handle might be what makes both work for me.

The EI profile of the RDX is an exaggerated Stiff - Soft - Stiff, whereas the TR Blue is more balanced Stiff - Mid - Stiff profile.

As for irons, if you prefer the stiff handle and don’t care much about the rest of the shaft, the PX 7.0 could be a great fit. If you like the stiff handle but prefer a softer midsection, then the LZ sounds perfect

I'm an RDX Blue and X100 guy, and I've never even thought to have the wood and iron shafts as the same profile, but it makes sense. I've just played dynamic golds for as long as I can remember (recently moved from S300 to X100), but found the RDX Blue a couple of years ago and just love it.

Try PX LZ 6.5 in irons. Has the softer mid of the RDX Blue that standard PX doesn't.

I just had my 7 wood changed over to this as ive been playing the blue in my 5 wood and driver for years. Its the best shaft and I'm not a fast swinger! I love how stable it is when I pull down on it! Trying another Hzdus (red) on the 7 wood proved how much I love the blue. I don't need a high launch tip to get the ball high enough and to repeat myself the handle pull down is everything for me!
