Best Iron Head Covers for 2020 2021 Season

So guys...so many great topics on equipment.  But what do you have that is the best at protecting your investment?  Irons are as much as $2000 or more these days!!! That why I elected to protect my investment with iron Headcovers!  The ones I found to be the best for me are the nice faux leather magnetic close China specials I got off ebay.  They work great!  They are easy to pick up! You dont even have to bend over, just use your metal iron head of your club to pick them up off the ground for you!  Magnets stick to metal!  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!  I predict these will be the #1 headcover in 2021.

What are you bagging this year for iron covers?

No iron covers for me as a matter of fact I have rarely seen anyone use them other than when traveling/transporting their clubs.

I use craftsman iron headcover until I know I’m going to game them and then take off. I keep iron covers when unsure so I can maximize resale value.

Interesting.  There are many sets with iron covers at my club.  I figured a large number of golfers these days used them. Theres a ton of them out there in retail...maybe no one on wrx wants to admit it for some reason...

I checked those craftsman out.  They look really nice!  but do yours have velcro?  That seems like it would take some time to get them on and off.  I play really fast golf and I have no issue whatsoever with my magnetic ones....

Those covers look fine although I'd be sure to keep dirt out of the inside.  They won't be as easy to clean as the soft plastic type covers.

Mine have Velcro but don’t really notice it. It doesn’t slow play at all. Grab iron, take cover off, put it in my pocket then hit my shot and start walking and while walking clean club and put iron cover on. I don’t mind covers at all. I was the only one with them at my club to be honest. Haven’t seen anyone use them here.

Why would you think a large number of people use them?  Do you play at other clubs or just 1 the majority of the time?  WRX world wide membership is like 0.1% of golfers, I'd wager even less than that actually use covers.  I might see 2-3 sets per year with covers on, never anyone who walks.

I started this year  using head covers again. Those are nice.  This is what I use.

Use Club Glove. I take care of my stuff. Laugh all you want of you are anti cover but it works for me and my forged irons look great

Those look great and seem practical.the numbers are usually ugly.

Hmm I think maybe those numbers are low.  Not sure.  I walk all the time.  Maybe my members just like their gear?  So I guess that begs the question, why would you not want to use iron covers?  Your irons cost as much as all your woods and hybrids combined, which all have headcovers...so why not put them on the nice expensive forged blades in your bag?

So now you are saying that your members must like their gear more than others because they use covers...  I think you need to get out into the real world and actually see what is going on in golf...

I didnt really say that but yeah I guess if you use covers on all your clubs you like them enough to use covers versus not using them. Like I bet if tour players didnt just get new free irons all the time they would use iron covers too.  Heck maybe they would get more money if they used branded headcovers...I take it you dont use them?  That's fine.  I'm not sure why you think golfers that walk dont use iron covers.  Anyways I like these magnetic ones but was curious what other golfers were gaming?

A, the4 pros didn't use covers, like ever even when they didn't get new clubs all the time...  As I said before, you really should venture out into the real world to see how things are, you don't have a clue.

Dude I'm sorry I dont know what you are talking about.  What would I see?  You mean play other courses with my headcovers? People usually dont give me crap unless they they can beat me in golf first. Even then it's not really about my gear they would give me grief over, more my score or their better score...I mean maybe if I wore a pink shirt or something...

I like the club glove neoprene covers. I typically keep them on in my car and if I’m riding in a cart. Otherwise will leave them off through a round as I use the club. Nothing wrong with protecting your equipment, we all do it with our woods and putters anyway.

Yeah well I like them.  You should try them because I pulled up a picture of your irons without headcovers, is that ridiculous?  Maybe a better explanation than just simply dissing them.  I am a cool golfer that uses headcovers.

Of all the things to get into a pissing match over this seems as if it should be at the bottom of the list.  i use covers by personal choice.  If some folks don't want to that their choice.

Some Irons cost more per club than the fairway/hybrid/putter/2nd hand driver.

I just go with a set of the neoprene covers from Ebay or DHGate with the brand/model.  Takes a little to get here from DHGate but I like my PXG neoprene covers and wouldn't own a set of irons without protecting them.  I take pride in my stuff and what I spend my hard earned money on.

This is just my opinion, but the correct answer to your question on the best iron covers for 2020/2021 is NO IRON COVERS. The members at my club would rather die a slow, painful death than be caught using iron covers. Maybe that's because if they were caught with them they would be mocked right up until they day they did die 🤣
