UPDATED 2/11/21 Anyone rolling a Kevin Burns?

I saw the most beautiful putter on sale here not too long ago, a GSS Kevin Burns. I hate I missed it. So I decided to see just how much one would be. I can get a custom GSS KB in either 1 piece or 2 piece adjustable hosel for around $600! Insane! Of course depending on finish and options prices go up. Hoping to get my order placed tomorrow, and then try to be patient as I wait for the build. So I wanted to start this thread to hold me over! @kb_golf on instagram!

I've been following him since I got back into golf a few years ago. He does some really nice work and some really...less than nice work. But his simple and clean putters really show off his talent in CAD and milling. I've been looking on eBay, the BST, etc for one of his putters in LH. I've only come across 1 and it was a really old model, but his putters are something I want to try, just don't want to drop custom price on it without trying first.

The one I am building is a 2 piece, based on this model here, but with the slant neck pictured. I'm also not getting the insert!

I've been looking at a 9303 which is at about $70 right now.

I've been a KB fan since the Fred Couples days. Used an original 9303 for years. His new stuff has had really gaudy cosmetics, but the quality remains. Your best bet is to customize it. I've spoken with him a couple of times. He's more than willing to create something with you. 

 

I have had a few classic KB's over the years. This 9306 is the only one that remains. IMO, the best designed, best feeling Anser style putter ever. And it's over twenty years old. Solid carbon steel (no hidden insert) and super clean. I don't use it much any more, but can't seem to part with it.

After reading through this thread I sent in a request through his website. After only a couple of hours Kevin called me himself to chat with me about what I would be looking for in a build. Not only was he very knowledgeable and friendly it was also extremely refreshing to get contacted back so quickly. Many other putter makers I’ve contacted never even bothered to respond.

I rolled an older 9307 for a few years and have spoken to him about a custom build before but haven’t gotten around to pulling the trigger on it. He has a few designs/logos available that definitely are not everyones cup of tee but his work is top notch and his designs are 100% his. He also has a completely custom developed fitting system he created himself if you go out to him in SoCal.

This was Kevin Burns at his absolute best.  Great lines, soft edges, excellent face milling, really responsive face, and a subtle and classy-looking putter...

Brendan has been great to deal with! I like the fact that it's a Father/son company! I just don't know where else you can get a fully customized GSS putter for $600!

I saw that as well, kinda curious on the actual size and what it will look like as an actual putter. But the 9305 LN and 9306 are his nicest offerings at the moment I think.

KB is in Northern California.

Just got off a 30 minute call with Kevin! He called me to discuss my build. Unbelievable! I sent him some videos of my stroke and he was able to offer some advice which I am 100% going to work on, as well as discuss the specs for my putter. So stoked for this one!!!!

Black Friday was 15% off.  He delivered the putter in under a week exactly how I ordered.  Perfectly happy with it ... not trying to detract from the thread.

Seems like a fair deal to me! But mine will have interchangeable weights and hosels, and was custom for me, not just custom stamped.

Kingston is more semi-custom since they get heads in bulk from a machinist they work with. But that just drops the price which is nice. 

 

KB is pretty much milled to order. Other GSS for cheap if people care is Carbon Putters.

I bought a NOS mallet from late 1990's. It has copper insert and is heel shafted. Paid $75. Love it.
