Been hitting the Rogue pretty well lately, but curious to test out the adjustability in the TSi2 and see if I can get more dialed in. Also really like the Tensei AV Blue line of shafts, so I’m excited to try it in the Titleist.

 

Also had a big breakthrough this week with my Irons situation. I’ve been struggling to get the P790’s dialed in and really just don’t hit them well consistently. So this week I tested out my buddy’s OG Titleist AP2’s and hit them beautifully right away! They were so much easier to hit for me, and so much more consistent that I decided then and there that the P790 experiment was over.

 

So new irons on the way, and more updates coming soon!

Haha!! Man, I've always said I'm all about playing what I feel will work best for my game. I know at times it's looked like I was a #TeamTaylorMade guy (or #TeamSrixon), but that was really just out of belief at the time that it would be the best fit for me.

 

The Stealth line being such a poor fit for me has definitely turned me off of TM for a while though, and the P790's not working out either definitely doesn't help.

 

We'll see how it goes with the Titleist clubs in my bag (and on the way...hint, hint 😉) though. Like always, I'm not married to any brand and it's always TBD...let the best clubs win!!

Just leaving the range after doing some head-to-head testing of the TSi2 vs Rogue ST Max.

 

I came into it thinking the TSi2 would be the front-runner, especially with the Tensei AV Blue Raw shaft, but the winner for me was the Rogue ST Max.

 

Tried the TSi2 at different lofts and lie angles, but the Rogue consistently felt better, sounded better, and launched better for me than the TSi2. I also prefer the look of the Rogue as well, but that’s obviously subjective and not as important.

 

Really glad I got to test the Titleist out, but the Rogue’s spot in my bag is still safe (for now 😁).

The highlighted line literally had my Pepsi involuntarily spit out and exiting me through my nose…might be the most not on purpose self awareness statement in a 12 page, very fluid WITB thread😂

New irons came in yesterday & put them into play today! Once I get them adjusted and dialed in they’re going to be freaking fantastic!!

 

When I hit my buddy’s OG AP2’s recently I knew I wanted AP2’s. Then when I read up on them and saw that a lot of people say the 714’s were the best version, I jumped on this set when I came across it.

 

Really like the direction my bag is heading in for the rest of the season, but as always we’ll see how it goes! 😎👌🏽

Sick set of irons can't go wrong with ap2 or the t100 irons from Titleist.

Been following this for some time and this has influenced me to try the rogue line. Just picked up a slightly used max ls and was quite impressed. Hit it a few times at a golf town and first impressions were very positive. Excited to put it up against my tsi3 to see how it compares.

 

I was really surprised at how forgiving it was for an ls model

Yeah man, all about using what works best for you, and the Rogue Max is absolutely phenomenal. 
 

I’ll always be open-minded to testing out different clubs to see if something can knock it out of the bag, but it’s going to be tough to beat.

 

My last round with it was my best Driving day ever, which is very exciting because I’ve been going through a ton of struggles with the Big Stick since I sold my previous gen Rogue mistakenly many months ago!

The search for the perfect 3-Wood continues…next up is the new TSR2!!

 

Early results were good with the TSi2, but when I bought that I didn’t know the TSR line would be on the shelves so soon after. Luckily I was able to do an exchange…just makes sense to try out the newest version and see what improvements they’ve made.
 

For sure this one is more aesthetically pleasing, and hopefully will perform better as well!

Just get a callaway UW 17 and you’ll never have to look again..

That’s definitely an option I’ve seriously considered and would love to try. The problem with the UW is the glued hosel.

 

At 6’7, I’ve tried 3W’s with glued hosels and it’s just much tougher to get them to perform than 3W’s with adjustability and an upright setting. And my local shop called Cally customs and they said they couldn’t bend one upright on custom order.

 

I’ll be testing the TSR2 in the A3 setting to start off (16.5* and most upright setting), so we’ll see how it goes and will do necessary adjustments from there.

I’ll keep the UW in mind for the next experiment for sure.

 

Hopefully the TSR2 will be a good fit though, looking forward to hitting it!

You and a couple others like Richie Hunt and MTL Jeff I tune in when you guys post---- To see what the heck you have done next---- Seriously it is interesting in a good way to me--- Another one I tune into is Phabs with his putters

I tune in here mostly to keep track of the stuff i've bought too.....

 

The other day i wake up with a slight hangover after a full bottle Caymus Cab (this is how MtlJeff rolls).

Thanks Stu, it’s an honour to be mentioned on such a prestigious list!!

 

I follow those guys too, and am also very entertained. I think those guys probably have a little more direction than me though, Lol!!

 

I think the thing with me is that at 6’7, the advice I’ve gotten from fitters, instructors, or Golf shop employees don’t necessarily apply to my game or my physical makeup. So really for me, trial and error is the best teacher…learning the hard way!

Ditto Jeff…you have no idea how many times I’ve looked back at my WITB to check on dates to see if I can return clubs, or to remember what type of Driver head or shaft I actually owned at one time or another, Lol!!

This was the big move this week! Wanted to try a different wedge setup, so figured I’d give these beauties a shot.

 

Really liked the TM MG3’s, and my wedge game has been really good this season. But the Low Bounce 60* was really only good on tight lies and dry fairways and struggled with every other type of lie. And the 56* was amazing for chipping, but it was too big of a yardage gap on full swings between the 56* and the 50* Gap wedges I’ve been testing this season.
 

Not that big of a fan of the rusted faces on the MG3’s either, but that wasn’t make or break.

 

Another club on the way from the good people at Callaway Customs…hopefully gets here before the end of the season!

Usually if I have experimented with a club a lot I have notes on it in one of my notebooks as to weight and adjustments etc. If it is not in one of my notebooks then I did not like it and bother to mess with it much so basically it was not worth remembering and evidently I moved on.

Now I will admit I have so much stuff actually junkpile finds I forget I have them. The Muirfields in my signature I have had for darn near 4 years and forgot I had them. Found them by accident one day and discovered they were an oddity because they had Black Label TT R shafts. Took them on a vintage round the next day and they hit good. They were special order and who ever set them up knew their stuff. I did check lofts and lies and they were on spec and so I have not messed with them as they hit great for me. Do not even have lead tape on them which is unusal for me. Those are really junkyard gems. Found them one day in a bin when I worked for a metal recycler

Which driver won out TSR or Callaway?

 

Cant go wrong with SM9s. I have them in 50/54. Tried a few 60 grinds but nothing can knock my hi toe 60/7 out

No doubt going to love these things. Was fit into 54 D and 58 K and my wedge game has been on fire ever since.
